  • maybe it's a food allergy/intolerance ...is there a common food you are eating that makes you feel this way? I can't eat many raw veggies because i feel bloated and my intestines feel like they are all knotted up when I do. it can be really painful.
  • I love the way you put that...my goal is not to lose a certain amount of weight, but to stick to my calorie goal each day. If I'm eating a bit more than I should, I try to ramp up the exercise to even it out. I feel good when I can meet my goal...and sometimes it takes awhile, i can go a week or two where the scale doesn't…
  • I've been doing this since last July (except for a week at the start of the new year). I haven't done it perfectly, but I'm doing it. I've lost 39 lbs so far (nothing in Dec or Jan)...I'm really excited about that. I eat real food and have focused strictly on the calories. I exercise 5x/week. It helps me feel strong and…
  • I found that it was always the first week that broke me in many tries that I have had before this one. I would see the scale, be unhappy, and give up, thinking I had no metabolism. This last time, I kept going anyway...and shortly after, my body started losing. Sometimes it takes a bit to catch up. Also, when I work out,…
  • hi welcome...im 47 and have been here since july...im down 40 and want to lose about 75 more. it will take time...and once i get there...ill have to learn how to maintain, so, ya...ill be here awhile  I feel so good since starting...my strength and flexibility are way better and its been great fitting back into old…
  • Welcome back...u are starting the rest of your life!...healthier!
  • I think its awesome that your husband took care of the potluck food...and the best part is, you could eat one or two and not derail your plan because the rest were staying at the potluck and not coming home with you. Maybe you are trying to restrict too much? Maybe he thinks you are grumpy on your diet and was trying to…
  • good luck to you...you can do it...I'm trying for similar, but instead I think of it like this...don't worry how long it takes...just try for one pound and one day within goal at a time.
  • I've lost 35, stalled out at Christmas, and am getting back into it. I want to lose another 75. It's so simple that anyone can do it (barring cravings, hormones, temptations, lack of will, and lack of motivation...been there!). Best of luck!
  • Best of luck to you! You can still lose weight eating carbs, but if they make you feel awful, then definitely cut back or cut them out. Whatever makes you feel best is most likely to become a habit. Cheers!
  • Welcome! I was doing well until the holiday season. I'll be hit and miss in the next week and a half until my vacation is done, but happy to have more company on the journey.
  • hi...add me...i have a 160ish day streak...i think i didn't log a couple times, but i usually do, even if its bad.
  • dont be ashamed...everyone falls...at least you came back!
  • i was going to say 3-400, not including the dessert....150 more for dessert
  • i totally understand what you are going through...I felt that way whenever i was on a diet...always thinking about food and being really hard on myself when I couldn't make it to the next appropriate time for a meal. i thought i could only lose weight if i ate 1200 calories a day and if it didn't happen in 3 days...then it…
  • lol...i like pie, but people are good, too. I am down 35 with around 70 to go...just realized...im 1/3 of the way there :)
  • love yourself...its easier to do this when you feel like you deserve better. good luck!
  • hi liv...nothing makes me want to eat more than feeling bad about myself. I feel good when i stick to my calorie goal, even though i am so far from my weight goal right now. CICO works...even though sometimes it seems way too slow (it's not, it just feels that way). Exercise also makes me feel good about myself. Then,…
  • hi...i have a garmin...all kinds of issues....did u go to the app section and make sure u selected the band? otherwise, it may be set on "do not track steps"...my activity level is light, but i get zero calorie adjustment most days even though i make my 10 000 steps. recently i had to log out and log back in to both MFP…
  • Hi, I'm 47...western Canada
  • when i first started on here... i had that constant hunger feeling. i felt like i had to keep my calories maxed out at 1200...and i was never satisfied. that's usually when i fail. after 2 weeks, i was really tired and lethargic. then, someone suggested i eat more. i was horrified at first, but it's working pretty well. I…
  • hi, maybe your exercise calories are overestimated. how long have u been in range for? you dont need to stop drinking, unless you drink a lot. if you keep your drinks in your range, then all should be good.
  • they used to say coffee was bad (maybe because of the diuretic effect)....many studies say its now beneficial (and now say a cup of coffee is still like drinking water). i love coffee and i drink it black (though sometimes ill have cream and sugar if im out and buying one at lunch...its a treat.
  • You are definitely in the right place. Good for you for taking these steps while you are young. Without changing what you eat, if you eat less calories per day, the weight will come off. Best wishes...you can do this!
  • Hi Charlene, In the past, when I have tried to maintain 10-1200 calories a day, I found I had trouble sleeping and would wake up often and I was always hungry. I was also quite jittery. That was the worst! After 2 weeks like that, I was beginning to feel so tired and run down, too. Now I try to get between 15-1600 and I'm…
  • lol...i thought people actually typed *kitten* themselves. I like MFP way better than weight watchers. As long as you stay at your calorie goal, the weight will come off. You sound really disciplined....you can do this!
  • From my experience, if you are active early, then the tracker thinks you will be active all day, giving you extra calories. Later, if it finds you are not, it will take those calories away. Very confusing. I haven't quite figured it all out, but I would say no to that.
  • Good for you for making changes. The sleeve is kind of scary to me. A few years ago, I contemplated pursuing it. Since then, I knew of three people who have had it done. All 3 were initially successful, then not. And it can really wreak havoc on your stomach. Not to mention, you have to be put under to do it. Keep doing…
  • Hey...I'm the same....sometimes I have really good days with lots of fruit and veggies....today my meals were 3 energy bars, an iced cap and some pasta....all within goal....still works
