Yes they do help a lot but also other exercises that work as well is dead lifts and and a glute Bridge with weights

I'm at 1400. And the reason for that is prob because you put in that you want to lose over 1 lb a week. I would suggest not losing so much so fast or just try to stick to what it says

That's the perfect goals I do same thing years ago and dieting is always make you lose the weight but exercising is the only solution to keep it off :)

It does help to eat smaller meals through out the day keeps your metabolism going and steady. Also you might need to prepare things before. Like cutting up fruits or veggies. Maybe a piece of bread with some peanut butter on it, maybe some crackers with hummus, nuts or dried fruit, salads or yogurt , hard boiled eggs
