I am 35, 5'1", 120 and sit all day at a computer. I usually work out for an hour in the mornings, mostly cardio and some lifting. To lose I need to be at 1100-1200--right now I am averaging around 1400-1600 and maintaining. In an ideal world I would lose those last 10 pounds and get down to 110 but it is a serious struggle.
-
I've started eating at maintenance which has made a huge difference in how I feel. I'm also not weighing myself obsessively any more :P I still do run quite a bit (but that is because I enjoy it). After a long hiatus, I am also trying to get into lifting more again.

hahahah! This is LA to a tee. I have lived here waaaay too long but that is definitely the norm. There is ALWAYS a new fitness trend or hot health food. My neighbor is a partner at one of the "hot" juiceries. I am a normal fit active mid-30 year old, yet here in comparison to some of the women here, I feel somewhat…

I have an ice cream maker and have tried a few things with almond/coconut milk plus a scoop of vanilla protein but nothing I am wild about yet. My kids are obsessed with the ice cream maker so we have been focused on trying recipes they like. I have made a lot of really awesome full-fat, full-calorie options including…

My kids are 8 and 11. I get up at 4:45 and work out at the gym on the first floor in our building from 5-6am. My kids get up at 6ish. If there was ever any type of emergency in that one hour before they wake up...the 11 year old knows where I am and can either call my cell phone from our unit or get in the elevator to the…

Here are a few additional sites I occasionally use (some are not "health" food oriented but still have great recipes and ideas): http://damndelicious.net/ http://www.gimmesomeoven.com/ http://rasamalaysia.com/ http://whiteonricecouple.com/ http://www.oatmealwithafork.com/ http://www.ohsweetbasil.com/ Really like this one…

I love this soup: http://minimalistbaker.com/creamy-thai-carrot-soup-with-basil/ I use PB2 and also add about a tablespoon of fresh ginger.

Thanks, but was really hoping for a saffron cream sauce!

I like baby carrots...if you are looking for an actual chip where you get a quite a few more chips per oz: http://www.dietfacts.com/html/nutrition-facts/nabisco-air-crisps-wheat-thins-original-flavor-crispy-baked-snacks-367.htm

Baby spinach and kale, roasted butternut squash, diced apple, almond slivers, craisins, chicken with a raspberry vinaigrette.

Thanks and will do! That sounds awesome--my crockpot has seen better days and it would be nice to cut down on appliances!

Hope this isnt considered a hijack but rather a related question: I am debating a pressure cooker as my next big kitchen gadget purchase...do you guys think its worth it? I have a slow cooker and like the fact it can be set up in the morning and not when everyone is ravenous in the evening. What do you use it for most?

I like ground turkey with egg whites, cilantro and tomatoes...I borrowed the idea from the Fire House Restaurant: http://www.firehousevenice.com/wp-content/uploads/FH-Menu-5-20-15.pdf

I realize that everyone is different and even I am different from my typical foods based on workout routine, TOM, etc but here is my usual.... I'm a volume eater--I need a lot of volume and a bit of protein to be full. I do a lot of large salads with all kinds of veggies and fruits topped with 3-4 oz of turkey or chicken…

I like this lentil soup: http://www.washingtonian.com/2013/01/11/healthy-recipe-slow-cooker-moroccan-lentil-soup/

You and I are very similar! I am 5'1" and 119. I eat a ton of veggies, egg whites, ground turkey, chicken breast.
-
I spent all day reading this thread yesterday (productivity at work zero), it was so helpful! Really helped me re-evaluate my goals. Hovering at just under 5'1" and just under 120, I have been chasing the elusive last 10 pounds as just a number on the scale for years (Im 35). I occasionally get down there only to bounce…

I don't walk to lose weight...it is just something I do because I enjoy being outside. It relaxes and destresses me.

We are about the same! I am 5'1" and my weight is 119...Im aiming for 110 or so.

I use pumpkin and applesauce as a replacement for some or all of the fat in baking items, usually I do half...it does alter textures though. Zucchini also helps with moisture. I also use peanut butter flour (aka PB2) instead of regular flour too. I don't like the taste of Truvia but sometimes replace sugars with vitafiber…

Those sound really good! I'm thinking ground turkey would work too.

Ive made a version of this before and thought it was delicious. (I used regular old flour instead) http://proteinpow.com/2014/09/pumpkin-pie-protein-bread.html It was a really creamy cake like bread. There are a ton of other pumpkin dessert ideas on that site too. I tried another one but cant remember which one now.

This weekend I made 6 different types of cookies and bite size brownie treats. The two most popular so far have been: http://www.kraftrecipes.com/recipes/mexican-wedding-cookies-91976.aspx (I replaced the nuts with unsweetened coconut and made the balls around a carmel Hershey kiss) and these (I used Christmas sprinkles):…

I love spaghetti squash and zuchinni noodles...but I also don't really like pasta very much :P

I plan on trying these for my daughter's 3rd grade party: http://sallysbakingaddiction.com/2013/12/03/candy-cane-kiss-cookies/ Because...sprinkles.

Ive made a version of this ( a few substitutions to suit my tastes) and thought it was great! http://proteinpow.com/2014/09/pumpkin-pie-protein-bread.html Protein Pow has a lot of pumpkin recipes on the site.

I occasionally eat 1 for breakfast when I am in a rush. I couldn't imagine eating 2.
