They can get stuck!!! I had to have surgery to have mine removed... my GP and the consultant both tried the normal "grab and yank" approach, but it was unbearable agony because mine was stuck. They do get lodged in the wall of the uterus sometimes :(

Thanks ruby and Jackie - you both are smashing the exercise front too... ruby I recommend to stretch, stretch and stretch your calves, it works wonders ;) Also welcome to ccditnesspal - sorry I missed your post earlier... I was a bit distracted by gam3r's pics... LOL! I just popped back here again to do a bit of my own…

WOW Gam... just WOW... those before and after pics were worth waiting for - to be honest your before pic looks pretty impressive, but the change is amazing, particularly the change in the size of your biceps - great work!!! Welcome Lori - sounds like your day to day activities will set you well on the way to weight loss :)…

Ruby - we've all got your back! It sounds like you've got a plan in place and you're motivated - you can do it! :) I had the OK from the physio yesterday to go back to running (yay!) - so I'm just going out for a plod to see how the knee fares... hopefully I will return with a positive report.

Happy weekend Cool Kids! I'm happy dancing this morning... 2.6 lbs down this week! :) Gam - great "INSANITY-ing"! For Beeps: BOOM!!! :D Alf - those hail stones are monster... hope you didn't have to go outside when they were falling, they look they'd really hurt! KellySue - thinking of you and your family this weekend...…

@galooshka28 - I'm sorry you're still experiencing post-Mirena problems... I'm still in the same boat a bit too! You're the first other person who has ever mentioned the lactating breasts - I had that too, but more so the left side. I think that has almost all gone now (I've only seen it once since removal, about a month…

It's so great to hear your excellent progress and fantastic weight loss! Sounds like the removal was well worth it :)
-
Ah, KellySue - that's so great! I'm really pleased for you and your family! :)

Belated Happy Monday, Cool Kids! 3furballs - really sorry to hear about your cat, but I'm sure you did the right thing for your old puss. We have an elderly dog and I know life becomes harder and harder for them. So I'm back in Blighty... I enjoyed MA last week and only +1.5 lbs damage (grrr, but could have been worse!).…

Hehe - I think you'll find most things will be strangely odd, yet vaguely familiar at the same time - that's certainly what I find when I'm over in the US. :) ETA: including the language!
-
Yep - Splenda, Sweetex, Canderel... we have all the usual synthetic artificial sweeteners ;)
-
Questioner... yes, definitely me - particularly the bits about taking control ("control freak" - helllooo!), being a sceptic, and the maths and science behind things... yep, yep, yep...
-
Haha - @phill_143 you just said EXACTLY everything I was going to say... right down to the "everything is much sweeter in the US, especially the bread" comment! I'm a Brit but I've been all over the US for work and every time I forget and see a nice piece of bread - then take a bite and it's like a mouthful of sugar! To…

Hey Cool Kids! Just popping in here while I've got a minute... KellySue - great to hear that you are preparing for your hubby's homecoming! Curious - can you fit a slice of pizza and a few fluid oz of beer into your daily cals (like my 7 Dorritos) or would that be too much temptation??? ;) Larro - 05:00... urrgghh - I hate…
-
Hey kids of the cool variety! Just managed to have a quick catch up of the past few pages... Hope everyone is well, and all suffering from illnesses/injuries are on the mend! Lovely photos from Alf, Larro, alishaspringle, curious and Kelly Sue. Emmalusmom - your granddaughter is so cute! Alf - loving your new avatar pic as…

Hi chandramiller - welcome! Yeah - 40... the top of the slippery slope LOL ;) I agree with you - it's harder post 40 - but not impossible!
-
Hello Cool Kids - just found enough time to catch up with everyone... lots going on! Caramel - so sorry to hear about your injury... glad it was not too serious, but it sounds bad enough. Hoping for your speedy recovery! Allenpriest - hope you're starting to feel better? KellySue - kickboxing... I'm in awe of you! :) Sorry…

Rain, rain, rain, rain, RAIN... here in the NW of England it's RAINING!!! Out early this morning to take the dog for her hydrotherapy and so many roads were flooded with drains backed up everywhere and brown water fountaining (is that even a word?) everywhere :open_mouth:
-
Sorry to hear you're still under the weather allenpriest - although at first I read your post as saying you're "homesick" and I thought maybe you were off on your hols as well! I know stomach/digestive problems are a nightmare - lots of light soups to keep you well hydrated are best... the classic chicken soup or, for…

Aww - looking beautiful Alf - you and the skyline/ships! Have a wonderful time - I'm sure you will ;)

AHatFullOfSky (love your name, by the way, I adore Terry Pratchett's books - such a sad loss!) I'm in Cheshire - but originally from Cornwall. Are you Danish or another nationality (English?)? For a long time various members of my family lived in Kosør and Sorø (my Mormor) - but now most are in Roskilde and Jyllinge.
-
Hey Cool Kids! Busy, busy week with visiting collaborators and a workshop at work - so I'm really behind with everyone's news! Kelly Sue it's great news about your hubby's progress - fingers crossed for three weeks to go. Hehehe Beeps - well done on kicking the night time snacking! Hubby and I are working our way through…

I went to my PhD award ceremony and afterwards saw a video of the event - instead of me going up to collect my certificate there was some fat, middle aged woman on the platform! Followed closely by a complete stranger (a woman) leaning across the aisle of an aeroplane while we were sitting waiting to take off and asking if…

This is the most amazing transformation - congratulations!!! That picture of you in the black dress is great - and thanks for the regular updates as well. All the very best for your continued good health and remission.

Congratulations - great job, well done!!!

If you can get hold of it, miso soup is good.

Ooo - Iceland... jealous! :D Hope you see the northern lights and some fantastic "star-scapes".
-
Good luck @trish56832! You sound like a determined person - I'm sure you can do it :D
-
I just genuinely "Laughed Out Loud" at that... LOL - too funny!!! I'm happy-happy... with a 2 lb drop at today's weigh in - even with limited exercise due to injured knee! The physio says brisk walking should be OK, so I'll be up and moving again this next week. Oooo, @Kate7294 that injury looks nasty - glad she's back to…

Hi mumblemagic - yes, I'm sure the changes that happened to me were as a result of the Mirena coil! The degree to which the synthetic hormones enter the blood stream and are distributed around the body vary from person to person - this is particularly true for women who have not had children, as is the case for me. My GP…
