Happy Friday all! Kickboxing was a workout, as always, last night. I slept in a bit this morning as I have my little guy for the weekend so I want to be well rested. A visit with PawPaw and a stop at the plane museum on the way home are on tap for tomorrow. Church on Sunday and then taking the him home after. We will have a blast for sure. I will have to watch my food intake though as I won't be involved in any structured workout. Just chasing after a 2yr old all weekend!
Hubby walked 50ft yesterday with the walker!! He's shooting for no more than 3 weeks left of his stay at the rehab. I would be grateful for that- it has been a long haul!!
Have a great day all!

No lifting today. All day board meeting + hair appt.
My success this week is the creation of my "no nighttime snacking" streak...5 nights and counting!
If this streak continues, I know the scale will cooperate!
BOOM!0 -
I want to say thank you to everyone for being so supportive!! I have gotten more support here than in my personal life, so I want you all to know that you do make a difference. (At least in my life.)
I did walk agian yesterday we even ramped up the speed. We were trying to beat the rain. Plus we got a late start due to the interstate was shut down because the President was on his way back to the airport that I work by.
My granddaughter is having her 4yo birthday this weekend. I got her a sandbox and we have to put it together and fill it with 750lbs. of sand. I think that I will get some workout with that alone.
Happ Friday Everyone! Have an awesome weekend0 -
Happy Friday cool kids,
Just popping in to say "hello". Busy day so far, with not a whole heck of a lot getting done! It's one of those days.
Managed to get out for a nice, but very cold, windy walk yesterday before bridge. We did almost 4 miles.
Alf, we are enjoying sunshine here as well, but with -22C temps! I am SO over winter. Ugh.
Kelly - great news about your husband! My goodness, you will have to learn to live together all over again.
Carmel - GREAT job on the weight loss! You are simply amazing and so inspirational! You have worked so darn hard to get where you are. You really go have this!
Emmalu - pleased to see you back and you feel supported by this group. Keep on coming back!
kate - am sure you will reign it in again and stay on track. You too, have done extremely well.
Beeps - no night time snacking is a HUGE win!
larro - love the pics -keep 'em coming!
3furballs - nice workouts! Who has time for double workouts when you are working FT and have a young family? You go girl!
mommy - nice "rest" day.
jackie - nice loss for the week. Wow!
Need to get back to work - will try and get pics of our costumes for Monday!
Have a great weekend everyone.0 -
So, no caffeine...soda OR coffe, even tea since Sunday evening. That's HUGE for me!!! I've lost a few pounds thanks to it too, so that's made the headache worth it!0
-
Good eve. Everyone! Did my 4 miles in 50 min. Today woohoo! I try to read every body's stuff but there's so much! :-)0
-
Would love to join the "club", I'm 5'1, 60 years old and 147lbs I plan to lose 1-2lbs a week0

I'd like to join the group too, please. I'm a 41 year-old woman with systemic lupus. I'm 5'4" and weigh 260 lbs. I have struggled my entire life with an extra 10-20 lbs. then, when I was pregnant with my daughter (she's 8), my lupus became extremely active and became extremely ill. The only treatment for the disease safe for use during pregnancy was the steroid Prednisone. For the last 5 mos. of my pregnancy I took 60 mg a day of the drug, a fairly high dose. While My pre-pregnancy weight was about 170 lbs, at delivery I weighed a whopping 280 lbs...Prednisone is infamous for causing weight gain, even at low doses. After delivery--& for the next three and a half years--I was on a regimen of 17 different medications, the great majority of which were meant to suppress my immune system and prevent lupus from ravaging my body. Once a very active woman, the pain, fatigue--and the side effects of the medications--kept me confined to either my bed or the couch.
Fast forward five years. While I am now in full remission and no longer taking any of the vast array of meds I once did, I am left with a body permanently damaged by the disease--my range of movement is limited and I will always suffer chronic pain--and completely out of shape. Being so I'll--becoming so I'll so quickly--really makes you realize what little control you have. Most of the medications I took after the birth of my daughter had a side effect of weight gain, and I was grossly overweight from the massive doses of Prednisone taken during pregnancy.
While I weighed 295 lbs at my heaviest, I weighed 264,6 lbs when I started using this app 4weeks ago. I've been using it religiously, even recording my water intake. I'm proud to say that four weeks later, in spite of the fact that I cannot exercise, I'm down to an even 260. This app is so easy to use and makes me accountable to the only person that matters...me!0 -
Thanks everyone for all the motivation of everything you have all been doing today and have coming up over the weekend. I'm revved up!
From getting tons of exercise chasing after a 2 year old to filling a sandbox with 750 lbs of sand to a fantastic 50ft walk (Awesome!!!) to faster walks trying to stay dry and no night snacks and great weight loss with a ton of knee pain (I can relate Caramel didn't understand how bad it was sorry!) and 4 miles done in 50 minutes and newbies doing awesome already.... We've all got this! Let's kick this stuff we no longer want in our lives to the curb like extra weight and medications we no longer want to be on (when we are able to that is). Woot! Woot!
Maybe I'm a little too motivated and excited...??? Still going to try to use this over the weekend to kick things up a couple of notches.0 -
Me too! 43 and starting many things this year, want to get into some good, new habits before fall like cooking more, less or no junk food and weights0
-
Yay, Alf!!!!0
-
Alf, you are rocking your vacation like a movie star!!!!0

Good evening cool kids.
It's late, so I will be brief. Margie and I went to a lodge on the Chipola River that some of Sister's Colorado friends are renting for the weekend. I had already cooked gumbo when we got the invite. I heard BIL was making his famous shrimp and grits, so I figured the gumbo would feel right at home. We got there before dark so were able to walk the grounds. Very nice setup. The lodge sits on one of the few high bluffs on our part of the river. I had seen it from the river for years, but it was my first time going there. We had a nice group of family and friends.
Hope everyone had a good day,
Larro
PS: The week's numbers: 21.0% Body Fat, 23.9 BMI & 171.2 Pounds. That is 0.7 pounds gained for the week.

Hi everyone
I would also like to join the group, if I may. A little about me just turned 43 March 18, and I'm 5' 3" and 163.5 lbs, I have gone to a dietian last week, my goal weight is to be 140 lbs, I don't excise much in winter, but now the nicer weather is just starting I want to get back into walking, bike riding and lose the necessary weight, so I can be happy, healthy. Would like support, friends, and guidance towards what I need. Only helpful comments welcome. Thanks for reading.0 -
Hi all! It's been an extremely busy week and I've read every post along the way! I weigh in tomorrow morning and am confident the scale will be nice to me. I am making progress using the treadmill everyday and can officially jog a mile with ease at a slow pace the week included getting a townhome listed for sale that my SO bought a year ago after watching too much HGTV also accepted a new job which I will start April 13th Eeekkkk I need clothes! Finalized college plans for my senior and took the pups to the vet for physicals and dental exams- plus I went to the dermatologist and had a spot taken off! Today I am picking my oldest up from college so he can come to my nephews birthday party with us. My other son in college can't come as he is 6 hours away looking forward to a fantastic weekend and a great week next week if hopefully much nicer weather! Hope you all have a fabulous weekend.0

Hi Cool Kids
Wow Larro! That is one mighty fine lodge. Where in the states? is it situated?
Alf: love your vacation pics! Where are you guys travelling?
I'm down with a cold but that didn't stop us from loading the car and driving down south to Stevs Klint. It's just recently been announced World Herritage Site. Very beautiful! We had a nice hike around the area and finished off with lunch/dinner at a little local restaurent.
The building you see on one of the pics is an old church. Part of it fell into the see back in 1928. The rest is well preserved and weddings are still performed there.

Hey Cool Kids! Busy, busy week with visiting collaborators and a workshop at work - so I'm really behind with everyone's news!
Kelly Sue it's great news about your hubby's progress - fingers crossed for three weeks to go.
Hehehe Beeps - well done on kicking the night time snacking! Hubby and I are working our way through The West Wing from the very beginning and it's so tempting just to sit and nibble away - so I'm very impressed with your will power Well done to spartridge as well for kicking the caffeine habit
Great going to everyone who has had exercise success lately - good going mommylern, 3furballs, Caramel, Emmalusmom, sdereski, trish... (and anyone I've missed due to not reading posts thoroughly enough!) - you've all put me to shame as I've let work dominate my life recently... grrr
Alf - looking fab on your hols, your photos are great! Larro - you always take a great photo too... behind and in front of the camera
AHatFullOfSky - do you live in Denmark or are you just visiting? My mum is Danish and I have way more Danish family than English family - BUT - I can't believe I've never been to Stevns Klint!!! Most of my folks are on Sjaelland as well (some on Fyn too) - your photos are beautiful (I turned my laptop upside down to fully enjoy )
Happy weekend all!
Oooo - I've just previewed my post and seen how many emoticons I've used! Leaving them all in though - as that's how I feel!0 -
LittleNell aaahahahaha so sorry. I did the picture upload via my ipad and there they seemed right. Yes I live in Denmark, Copenhagen to be exact. And it is my first trip to Stevns Klint even though we only live about an hour by car away. We usually drive up north from Copenhagen, or visit family in Jutland. Fyn is something special too. Love that little island. Especially down south. We are thinking of having some of our summer holidays down around Stevns and Moen, to really explore the area. Lots of things to do for kids and adults. Where in England are you living?

AHatFullOfSky (love your name, by the way, I adore Terry Pratchett's books - such a sad loss!) I'm in Cheshire - but originally from Cornwall. Are you Danish or another nationality (English?)? For a long time various members of my family lived in Kosør and Sorø (my Mormor) - but now most are in Roskilde and Jyllinge.0

Thank you everyone you are all so sweet!! We are ready to sail away. We are going on an 8 day cruise to Grand Turk, Dominican Republic, Aruba and Curaçao. We are sailing from Miami. I will be disconnecting myself during the cruise. Take care everyone!0
-
Aww - looking beautiful Alf - you and the skyline/ships! Have a wonderful time - I'm sure you will0

Depends on who might be sharing the shower with you.0 -
I'm still home sick! !! I don't have time for this in tax season. 10 days tomorrow. I'm feeling better but the symptoms are still there. If I don't stay after it my fever goes up and I feel really bad.0
-
Digestive tract infection of some sort.0
-
Sorry to hear you're still under the weather allenpriest - although at first I read your post as saying you're "homesick" and I thought maybe you were off on your hols as well!
I know stomach/digestive problems are a nightmare - lots of light soups to keep you well hydrated are best... the classic chicken soup or, for veggies, miso soup0 -
Rain, rain, rain, rain, RAIN... here in the NW of England it's RAINING!!! Out early this morning to take the dog for her hydrotherapy and so many roads were flooded with drains backed up everywhere and brown water fountaining (is that even a word?) everywhere0
