Just popping in to say that I read the title of your post as “Sugary food prep” and I thought it was going to be about cookies. Good luck with your surgery!

I’m having the same issue. Sent a message and got this post as a response. Short answer: this is gonna take a while. 😡 https://support.myfitnesspal.com/hc/en-us/articles/5716717249933-Unable-to-Create-New-or-Edit-Existing-Foods-Meals-Recipes-and-Quick-Add

Also, if you lose enough weight so that it becomes obvious, people are going to comment whether you say anything or not. In the past, if people were to ask what I was doing to lose weight, I’d just say something vague like, “watching what I eat”.
-
I’ll echo what others have asked: How are you measuring your intake? Using a food scale? Measuring cups? Are you logging every bite?
-
On an iPhone: Click “More” on the bottom right of the screen. Select “Meals, Recipes and Foods”. Click the “Meals” tab. Go to the meal you want to delete and swipe left.

So, to recap: 1. You’re not going to take the Orlistat; 2. You’ve recalculated/reset your goals and are going to eat more; 3. You’ve figured out that cortisol/stress/metabolism issues were preventing you from losing weight. You don’t mention that you’re going to start weighing and logging, but I assume you are. Otherwise…

You’re 31?? Pfft....I’m 53, I’m going through menopause, and I’m not nearly as active as you are. When I accurately weigh and log everything, I lose. It’s not easy, but it is simple. I don’t know why you’re so resistant to the idea.
-
This board also has rules, and promoting a VLCD violates one of them. PS: You use all caps in your replies because your eyes are bad, but how are you reading everyone’s replies?
-
I'm confused. Are you taking Orlistat or aren't you? Your original question was regarding how much fat you should consume while taking them, so I assumed you were, and now THREE WHOLE DAYS after your original post, you've decided that they don't work, so I assume you're not. Quick question: What did you think would happen…

Avoid oil!! Here, have some baby oil!

Start weighing and logging everything. You will be amazed at how off the mark you were when you were “very cognizant”. And that’s not a dig at you. It’s just very common to have no idea how much you’re actually eating til you weigh it and log it. I am 100% guilty of it myself.

Yep. If I’m eating something that is considered “healthy”, I hear about how I’m no fun anymore or “you eat next to nothing”. If I’m eating something considered “unhealthy” or “junk food”, these same people will ask if I should be eating that or say “I guess the diet didn’t last”. I just say “OK” to whatever they’re saying…

Since I had McDonald's for breakfast this morning, and just had two Rocky Road Oreos for my snack tonight, I can't disagree with you! :)

A food scale is more accurate than measuring cups. And since you only need to lose a few pounds, you need to be as accurate as possible. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XpHykP6e_Uk

What happens when you stop using it?

(((hugs))) back atcha! xxx ooo

Sounds like the opposite of the "seafood" diet...."I see food, and I eat it".

Hello, everyone! I've been gone for a while, but now I'm back. I guess things have changed a lot, because when I was last using MFP, the point was to log EVERYTHING, to ensure that you are eating at a calorie deficit. At the time, we subscribed to the crazy notion that in order to lose weight, you have to eat fewer…

I'm in! My weigh-in day is Saturday, so I'll start with yesterday's weigh in. 11/4/17: 188 Goal by 11/25/17: 183.

I don't know about Slimming World, but on WW pasta and potatoes aren't free (at least not on the plans that I was on). Non starchy vegetables are free, and fruit is free (which I agree can be dangerous) but potatoes and pasta? No.

At 5'3", I weighed 200 lbs and lost 50 lbs with minimal exercise, so I think your nurse practitioner is an idiot.
-
A lot of people start out by weighing everything, then they ease up a bit. In the beginning, eyeballing portions presents no problem, but over time that "portion creep" sets in, and what you thought was 3 ounces of steak is really 5 or 6 ounces. Weigh solids on a food scale, and measure liquids in measuring cups.

When used here, snowflake just means "super duper special" or "one of a kind", as in "no two snowflakes are alike". But I understand your point.

I have NEVER seen anyone say, or even imply, that if someone's experience is different from theirs, then it's wrong, UNLESS.....that person claims that their body defies the laws of physics, and that they're not doing ANYTHING wrong and they just CAN'T lose weight because they have some indefinable something that makes it…
-
Sorry, but I disagree. A Skinnytaste recipe made from scratch is infinitely better than a WW meal or a Lean Cuisine. But, if you think you can live on those meals forever, then go for it!
-
Neither do I! Meh. I've found that people who can't appreciate some good snark/sarcasm aren't worth my time.
-
You beat me to it!

OK. So....first, @malibu927 's suggestions are spot on, so take those into consideration. Also: do you weigh your food on a food scale, or just use measuring cups/spoons? How are you measuring the calories earned from exercise, and do you use them?
