not trying to be rude, but won't achieving these numbers mean that you lose mostly muscle?? You want to lose 15 lbs but keep the body fat at roughly the same level? the numbers just don't look right to me.

I hope this was a joke but doing cardio isn't necessarily going to prevent a heart attack, and not doing it isn't going to give you one. Let's not confuse people here. Yes to the calorie dense food and eating more though. Good luck!

I don't have a Nutibullet, but I have had my magic bullet for at least 5 years and it still works perfectly fine. I would say go for it.

I've been on a nutella stuffed pancake kick. can't really go wrong

He was a beginner at some point as well, you know. We all had to start somewhere. And of all the people in the world, he is the person you should never feel dumb around!! He will probably be happy to help.

I had some lower back pain when I first started going heavier on deads, so I watched a bunch form videos and researched a bit. I was rounding my lower back too much. What helped me was to think of the lift as more of a leg press action off of the ground, rather than pulling the bar up with my upper body. That made it much…

surgery as in a hospital?? I would eat a bigger breakfast to get you through that.

I like to think of it as a bank account. You wouldn't mindlessly spend and spend without knowing what your account balance is. Or at least I hope not ;)

Without knowing portion sizes, it seems like this is not enough. You don't need a scale to count calories, of course it is more accurate but totally not necessary. I estimate. You also don't need to count calories forever but you might want to try for a few weeks at least, to get an idea of how much you are actually…

Hello, I am the exact same height and weight as you. I really want to emphasize that what you are feeling is literally just a feeling, it's not necessarily fact and the feeling may pass (if you learn to let it). All I can say is that even though we may have the same height and weight, we may have completely different body…

It can be effective if you want it to be. Try doing the same lifts, but at a much slower pace. 5 secs down, hold, 5 secs up. You will feel the burn. Also, try the same lifts but one legged. I don't think anything is a waste of time, so long as you find ways to make it challenging.

are you breastfeeding? that will affect your calories for the day
-
we would have to know who that is. I'm going to guess it's not the greatest meal plan, if you don't know that you can eat ice cream. Gaining weight is a calories game. Yes, it's very hard to eat "healthy" foods all day long, but it isn't that hard to eat healthy foods followed by a bowl of ice cream. or a handful of gummy…

actually it sounds like you do want to bulk. you just don't know it yet.

4x150lbs - 1.25x my body weight. Still fairly new to lifting but I'm getting there, slowly but surely! My favourite lift.

why no protein powder? Milk, ice cream, nut butters will all have some protein and will blend up nice but they come with fat and carbs as well. What are your trying to accomplish?
-
This thread is great! I have a coworker who once tried to convince me that an ice cream sundae is nutritionally equivalent to a banana. According to her, the banana is full of sugar anyways and too much potassium is bad for you so she avoids it. She also has high blood pressure and eats greasy salty takeout food every day…

I've never seen Fage in Canada. I tried it last time I went to the States, I wish I could find it here. OP - I also eat the Oikos Greek. The only option I can give you for lower carbs is to get the plain flavour instead of vanilla, it has less sugar, and maybe add some protein powder to it.

Hello! I'm 5'5" and around 120 now. was about 115 when I started all of this, about 5 weeks ago. I am also fairly active, lift 4-5 times a week, walk/run with my dog twice daily. I'm gaining at the moment, eating 2300-2500 cals per day and feeling great. My energy levels are higher, and I'm hitting PRs on all my lifts

I've been on here for a month learning about building muscle and most of the advice is to go slower and not gain too fast. yes they emphasize high calorie foods to help hit your calories goals, but I wouldn't say that anyone has given advice to eat recklessly.
-
ohhhh Dave, wait for people to jump on that 'clean carb' comment.

What do you think the answer to that question is? I told her how much I make at a time. She can eat as much as she wants. It's a portion of my breakfast, it's not all I eat. Steel cut oats go a long way.
-
I make mine in the slow cooker, 1 cup of oats makes enough for about 4-5 servings. I make it ahead and then warm it in the microwave, heats up just fine!
-
probably too late now, but a quick swim if you can get it in after leg day works wonders
-
I just eat at my desk haha. hard boiled eggs, peanut butter sandwich, nuts, greek yogurt/granola.
-
Roasted chickpeas, sweet or savoury

Since you are just starting out why don't you just track your calories for a few weeks and see what happens? it will take a while to figure out what your true TDEE is, and how your body reacts to a surplus. Don't over complicate it right now. Doesn't sound like you have much to lose anyways, and you state that you want to…

I found it hard to hit the calories everyday at the beginning as well, but to be honest my appetite has been catching up and I now find that I'm still hungry even after a 1000 calorie breakfast. I don't ever want to come off this bulk  can't help you out with the food restrictions, other than to say eat as many…
-
I don't think it's that they don't believe you, it's just their general misconception about food and nutrition. I never would have thought that I could eat all of this food and look the way I do a few years ago, because I hadn't researched the topic. I didn't know anything about fitness or bulking or lifting or how it all…
