Calorie intake!

Hey,

I've been told I need to gain weight. Dairy and wheat free due to allergies, and struggling to complete the calorie intake given to me! Anyone else having this trouble?

Would be great if anyone could give some tips, tricks and advice please :)

Your profile and diary are not public, so you should share more of the details about your situation in order for you to get advice or recommendations.

What do you mean by the question, "anyone else having this trouble"... is this eating disorder related? If not, I am sorry to imply this by reading your post, but I have no clue as to what is being asked here.
  • I didn't think to make it public - I'm still working myself around this app. Sorry!

Ah, no it's not an eating disorder. I lost a lot of weight eating healthily and exercising but taken it to far and need to gain weight to be classed as "healthy" again. I meant it as does anyone else have trouble eating the recommend calorie intake that this app gives you? I'm finding 500-700 calories leftover at the the end of the day and not hitting that goal. How do you eat more? What foods and drinks can be recommended?
What's the best form exercises I can do whilst gaining weight?

Best exercise is strength training. It allows the extra calories to be used to add muscle mass instead of just fat.

Best foods: whatever you are allowed to eat with your allergies, just more of them. Also, it's perfectly fine to eat cookies, cake, ice cream, everything you could think of. Add in more nuts, nut butters, and oils since they pack a pretty good calorie punch for a small serving size.

I found it hard to hit the calories everyday at the beginning as well, but to be honest my appetite has been catching up and I now find that I'm still hungry even after a 1000 calorie breakfast. I don't ever want to come off this bulk

can't help you out with the food restrictions, other than to say eat as many calorie dense foods as you can - nuts, nut butters, coconut milk, avocado.

If you are going exercise by lifting weights as stated by @xcalgrl you will need to eat more calories and under eating by 500 - 700 calories will ultimately leave you weak, fatigued and not able to exercise at all.

How many calories do you need to eat everyday? I asked the question because you do not have to eat at a certain macro percentage (carbs/fats/protein) to gain weight, you just need to eat any type of food that is caloric to make your daily goal.

It sounds like you might have a suppressed appetite for some reason (stress, medication, other) and although exercising does help with making you hungrier (your body will naturally want more energy after expending it) you not only need to "load up" on the 500 - 700 you are missing now, but more.

Eliminate diary and wheat as you stated, you can eat around this, doesn't gluten free diet eliminate diary, etc...? I have not done a lot research on gluten free...

Now that I know your situation, I personally have no experience with going to far in my weight loss to where I never knew an end point to my goal. I assume there are others that have but I watch my weight like a hawk and in no way could have an issue with losing to quickly or unknowingly.. there are too many queues for me like my clothes would not fit, feeling ill, or someone would tell me..

Someone told you to gain weight and I still feel something is missing from your situation that is not stated in your two posts... Good Luck with your goals and keep at it..

EDITIED TO ADD: In your last post you stated you ate healthy to lose weight... so you know how to eat... eat a lot more it...
