What kind of shakes are you looking for? Protein, veggie, fruit, all of the above?

Keep it simple. Vanilla ice cream, whole milk, and chocolate syrup.

Any shake? With or without milk? Low calorie, high protein? Smoothies, fruit, veggie? Please elaborate... lots of variables here..

With milk, high protein without using protein powder

That would be hard to accomplish. You can double your fruits but then that would increase the fats and sugars though. This will be interesting to see what people come up with.

    why no protein powder?

Milk, ice cream, nut butters will all have some protein and will blend up nice but they come with fat and carbs as well. What are your trying to accomplish?

    1/2 to 1 C milk
    1/2 to 1 C cottage cheese
1-2 C fresh or frozen fruit (i prefer frozen)
    Sweetener of choice

You really don't taste the cottage cheese and it's high protein.

I usually add some baby spinach for extra nutrition. I like strawberries or cherries with cocoa powder in my smoothies. My kids like bananas and cocoa powder or blueberries or strawberries.
