THANK YOU! I've been thinking about this for days and I hope and pray its provided a breakthrough for me. I have lamented about "having to track for the rest of my life," but when I think about it in terms of mindfulness and something I need to stay in my healthy place, it makes it seem possible - one day at a time. :)

Yes, both Weight Watchers and MFP helped me with mindfulness. Now, I just have to be careful I don't stray over the line to obsessiveness.

After a while it becomes habit. Like brushing your teeth. Same thing for weighing food on a food scale. It's just something I naturally do now.

I see my body as a chemistry set almost

I used to just toss calories in the furnace.

Now I am mindful of nutrients, sodium, fiber, vitamins, anti inflammatory index.

Meals are to fill, satisfy, and nourish the machine

Some are more pleasure geared but it is easy to add some goodness to them!

    Mindful is a great term

I like to think of it as a bank account. You wouldn't mindlessly spend and spend without knowing what your account balance is. Or at least I hope not ;)
