  • Thanks for the feedback! :-) Great to hear that this WOE is good for those with hypo problems too :-)
  • Hi! I found in the information section in this group an add on that you add to your browser and then install a link, and now in my dairy I have NET CARBS listed beside by carbs :-) I had to have Carbs, Fibre, Fat and Protein as my headings and then it added Net carbs automatically. It's really awesome. Takes the guesswork…
  • Thanks everyone. I am also a compulsive shopper when in a supermarket but have not even wanted to get some danishes or other sugary stuff. My partner was quite taken back that I actually came home with no sugary snacks- or potato chips... :-) I am aiming to be under 136kg- (300lbs for the US people here) by the end of…
  • Thanks everyone! Really great tips! I have downloaded a 2 week plan from the Diet Doctor website that has a shopping list and while I don't think I would make everything on the plan, the idea of using the ingredients to make something else is a great one. I do need some structure to get into the swing of things. If I had a…
  • Thanks for the great advice! :-)
  • I was on 275 and not losing a thing. Exercising, way under calorie budget and my weight sky rocketed very very quickly. After 15 years of being passed around and not listened to, one doc did. He did a T3 test and it showed I didn't convert the T4 to the active hormone t3 in my body. It took a year of trying different doses…
  • I love resistance bands both the loop and the ones with handles. I have different levels of resistance for them and you can seriously feel it the next day! They take no space. I have been sort of doing some of the workouts from tap out XT and those big fit guys with muscles all use the bands and are working it. Cheap too.
  • I finally decided to go with the fitbit and it's on order but the shop has no idea when it will come in if at all. The reason I wanted it waterproof is for a few reasons...showering at the gym, swimming for aqua aerobics and where I live it can rain a lot and or during the winter lots of snow that I usually get a bit wet…
  • Thanks! I think for me being able to wear the polar loop in the shower and swimming wins. It's the thing that separates them both for me. If the fit bit charge hr was waterproof it would be a winner.
  • Potatoes as in potato chips, fries, roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, wedges, boiled potatoes... ok you get the picture. I have been trying to have them in small quantities. So far so good.
  • Hi Psycgrrl, you are lucky with the soy. I was drinking soya milk, taking soya basked shakes, eating a ton of tofu and other soya based products as I was replacing meat with it. I stopped taking soya when I read about its effect on the thyroid because at that point nothing was working and I literally went into meltdown. My…
  • There are a couple of things to be aware of. 1. Take it one hour before food or two hours after food. 2. Avoid soya products. They affected me greatly and I had to stop drinking soya milk and shakes. 3. Don't drink coffee to close to when you take it but otherwise it should be fine. 4. Don't take any supplements 4 hours on…
  • When you get your blood tests do you get free t3 as well as Vit D, B12 and ferritin? After 15 years of complaining to various doctors when my weight sky rocketed in a few months (happened a few times during the years) and no amount of exercise or eating less helped. Then one doc did a blood test for my T3 levels. I was on…
  • Hi Everyone! If you sent me a friend request, I added you :-) If we all add each other, then we will have a great group going!!! :-)
  • I use egg protein powder, vanilla flavoured. I mix it with unsweetened almond milk and a teaspoon or two of instant coffee. Shake it up. Tastes great.
  • I get that way too sometimes. I only have to look at myself naked in the mirror- I mean really look, and I realise I can't give up. I find it really hard to do and for me it is very emotional. I was blind for much of my life how big I had become. I am over 300 pounds. But that in around a month I hope will change and I…
  • I have been waiting and waiting for the plum fitbit charge hr to come out here. They say middle of May, but it is still not in the shops. ARGH!!!! I check most days :-) I keep checking other ones and I always come back to this one too.
  • One thing I do if burgers are all that are around is ditch the bun. Saved 200 calories + right there. :-)
  • Added! :-) So great to make new friends in the same situation!
  • One of my best friends is vegan and I love cooking for her :-) Have you seen this website? http://vegangela.com/category/vegan-recipes/vegan-salads. Last summer I made a lot of her salads. She rocks! (request sent) :-)
  • I got 36 and I'm 42. Can't complain!
  • I was completely shocked when I weighed cheese for the first time and realised that so little adds up to so much. I was eating one heck of a lot of cheese and had no idea that it was as calorific as it was. I try not to snack on it as much now as I would rather eat a bigger portion of something else for the same calories.…

  • I have tried it and Xenical. I don't have any full on horror stories but I have a few near misses. Oh... and you can't fart. Ever. If you do and you are not on a toilet... it's 50/50 whether its good or bad. Plus the oily substance that comes out stinks and I mean really bad. Like you need a shower as it's the only way you…
  • Feel free to add me anyone! I would like more motivated friends too! :-)
  • For me it depends on what my last meal was on how heavy I am in the morning. Especially if it was on the saltier side! I weigh myself twice a week, at the beginning and midweek. The midweek one is either an uplifting moment if it shows a slight loss I know I am doing ok. If it hasn't moved or even moved slightly up, it…
  • You might need to add more of the almond milk if you are adding two scoops. Usually a shake is made with one.
  • Stand naked in front of a mirror for 1 minute. Dont look away. Make sure its the full minute. Works for me every time to remind myself why I am doing this. It can be a very hard thing to do if you have a lot to lose.
  • Sorry, had to click and see what this was about because when I saw "commando diet" I thought how can not wearing underwear help you lose weight!!!
