  • MFP recommended close to that for me and for a while I did it, but it was too low - I lost weight super fast, was freezing cold constantly, and found I couldn't concentrate on anything but food. Now I do 1500 and lose slower, but feel soooo much better.
  • Oh thanks! Good idea. Do I need one with the heart rate or no?
  • I was vegetarian for a long time, and now just eat fish (truthfully I just don't like any other meat). I do also eat dairy and the occasional egg. But fish/seafood might be something to try for you? Protein, good fats, tends to be leaner (assuming you cook it right LOL). I don't feel too different (I didn't go back to meat…
  • I am already slightly miserable while dieting.... Why take away coffee too and make myself even more miserable?? LOL
  • I don't drink milk, so for a while I was worried I must not be getting enough calcium, but was pleasantly surprised to learn most days I get plenty of calcium from various foods without ever drinking a glass of milk. That said... sodium was a nasty surprise. Most days I'm near the limit, and that's WITHOUT salting my…
  • I eat almost exclusively vegetarian, aside from fish once a week (if that). I do eat dairy, eggs are rare also. I have upped the fruits and vegetables (realized even eating mainly vegetarian, I didn't really eat that many vegetables), I do cheese, yogurt, peanut butter, and high protein bars (I eat Atkins brand but I'm…
  • This is a fantastic idea! I don't "see" too much different but 17lbs are gone so I may try this just for fun! Thanks!
  • Mine is 140, I might think about a little lower, but it was always hard for me to sustain anything much below 140, so I'll likely leave it at that. :) I'm 5'4". I figure whatever you can keep up that is healthier than you are now is still an improvement, right? :)
  • I have the same problem as where I work is very slow and somewhat dull. There is some truth to the get up and move thing, i go for lots of walks, it does keep me from eating. :)
  • Sedentary seems to me to be you pretty much sit aside from activities of daily living (dressing, bathing, fixing food, eating, walking to/from car, etc). I picked sedentary but it seems I'm at least lightly active as I've been losing weight too fast so I had to change it. I have 3 kids and take care of them, household…
  • Thanks that makes sense and makes me feel a little better anyways :)
  • I know but it's hard for me to believe that netting about 1250/day (what MFP has told me to do), I'm still at a deficit of 1500 calories per day. It just seems crazy. I just bought a food scale at target today after advice here, and I may get a fitbit too, to see what I'm actually burning. I'm starting to think I've simply…
  • Well yes, but how much more is what I'm looking for LOL. I'm going to try a food scale and see if that helps. Maybe then I can see what I'm really eating.
  • Thanks for all the replies, yes I think I will get a food scale. :) will try that and see what happens.
  • "OP how much have you lost over the past two weeks?" About 6 lbs in last 2 weeks.
  • Spices, different oils? I sometimes like to kind of stir fry ramen noodles in spicy szechuan sauce. Also if you have something like cream of mushroom soup (generic is really cheap at target) and a little shredded cheese and an onion you could try some kind of oven-baked dish with the noodles and veggies. Maybe Google some…
  • I'm on celexa for anxiety and have lost over 12 lbs so far. :) best of luck
  • It can be pretty subtle... I lost 12 lbs and at first only my hands looked a bit thinner, I still don't SEE a whole lot of difference, but yesterday I realized I had to tighten my belt another notch or my pants were gonna fall down! So I'm sure the changes are there for you they might just be subtle so far. :)
  • I've lost maybe 10 lbs and noticed my hands are thinner! Ha ha I want a waist, not knuckles LOL. I guess the waist will come eventually :)
  • I would go in, if you are truly eating that much and exercising, only other possibility is fluid, and 16 lbs of fluid in a week is NOT normal, you should be seen. Good luck
  • I'm in the northwest metro and have an almost 5 year old and 2 year old twins! Gained a lot since the little buggers came too. ;) Would love to have some local support as well, please friend me!
  • Edited for typos LOL
