  • I have PCOS and agree with carb cycling. It helps us to have lower carbs but giving them up is hard to sustain. Losing is easier when I carb cycle compared to just calorie counting. I do still track here because it is hard to gauge where I am at
  • I am actually thinking of doing the opposite and not weighing again until after quarantine is lifted. I usually weigh once a week and despite tracking and exercising daily I have stayed exactly the same for 3 wks. This is a stressful period and maybe my body is hanging on to inflammation. While my friends are talking about…
  • Is this group active? Candy, 43, Pasadena
  • I am 43, single and child free in Los Angeles. I am very active and been on here for years but I like eating out and drinking on the weekends and the past few years have just been cancelling out my weekday efforts. Buckling down again, I know tracking (every day) works, I have lost before I just need to get to a…
  • Pasadena, Ca
  • Hi. I have been on and off here for years but the last few years I have been juggling the same 10 lbs. I need to lose about 50. I am making a conscious effort to track every day as I tend to blow it on the weekend and cancel out my deficit from the week. The struggle is real. I am open to new friends. I have been better at…
  • I am re-committing as well. New friends welcome
  • I thought we used to be able to search by age or location but maybe not anymore. I guess you either add real life friends through your contacts or like was said, see others looking for friends and click or search by username
  • Do we have a set weekly weigh in? It looks like on the spreadsheet it's every 10 days, is that correct? Just wondering because I tend to weigh on the same day of the week every week so I'm not sure if I will remember to do it on specific dates instead of days.
  • I'm using fitbit. What I did was allow negative adjustments in my settings. That way if you don't hit the calorie burn that is proposed for you throughout the day, it will subtract some of the calories given from exercise. I still log my exercise but if I burned a lot in one exercise but my daily wasn't as high as it…
  • That may not be enough time. Bridal salons suggest at least 7-9 months out. 6 months they can do it but on a rush, otherwise you can only buy off the rack or sample sizes. I had to break down and get mine at the end of July which was exactly 7 months out. I hadn't lost weight but I still found a dress that looks good at my…
  • If it's not tender and sensitive anymore, I would try exfoliation then moisturizing. A gentle scrub, you can even just make a paste with baking soda and water or buy a commercial scrub. Or a hydroxy acid chemical exfoliator, I use an AHA gel from Paula's choice regularly…
  • Yeah, I am definitely going shopping in the next few weeks. I have pictures all set. I'm not really a shopper. I hate trying on clothes. I'm usually pretty good about knowing what looks good and getting in and out fast. lol I will let them try things that they may like as sometimes the dress you like in pictures isn't the…
  • I haven't decided if I am getting engagement photos. I hate pictures of myself and it will be hard enough to get to the point that I feel comfortable by the wedding (Feb). I think engagement photos are usually best utilized for save the date cards and your website. Those are usually sent 4-6 months before the wedding. But…
  • Yes! I'm getting married Feb 28, 2015. I was starting strong in January and then it waned. I started again a month ago but I just get a tiny bit derailed for a day or two and I gain four lbs and I get discouraged. I'm supposed to buy my dress now according to the wedding gurus but I'm so not ready. It really doesn't feel…
  • I need motivation, too! It's just getting real that I should be further along than I am. My wedding is Feb 28, 2015. I wanted to lose 30 lbs prior to shopping for dresses, which I should do by June/July. That didn't happen. I don't want to order the dress too small and then not fit in it, but I wanted to be halfway to…
  • I went to a few locations this weekend. Lots of crazy patterned carpet. I did do searches for wedding photos and often the uplights and table settings do pull focus away from the green paisley. I like very modern, clean style and my colors are moody grey and purple so it's hard to envision my idea when most halls are…
  • I got engaged at the beginning of November. We haven't booked anything yet, but tentatively looking at the beginning of 2015, probably February. A lot of the venues get booked up over a year in advance and I do want to lose weight before I even have to shop for the dress to save on having to pay for extra fabric (ha!) and…
  • That situation came up a lot with me. The men didn't necessarily want the label of boyfriend/girlfriend but they would say they didn't want to bother if I was talking to or seeing other guys. It didn't make any sense. And then they would be on me like white on rice, telling me they missed me, calling all the time only to…
  • Your stomach shouldn't be full when you are done eating. A lot of us wait for the stuffed feeling to indicate, that you are no longer hungry. Also, it takes 20 minutes for your brain to register. So sometimes, just portioning out and then waiting, maybe the urge will pass. With the pizza, the urge didn't pass. Maybe it was…
  • That happened to me all the time! I had some that said they weren't interested in competing and didn't want to meet or anything if I was talking to different guys. So I'd say "So, you want to be exclusive before we even meet?" It's a dating site. Generally you may fade out from one person if you have a stronger interest in…
  • I have not been eating good at all. I like to exercise too but I have let my food slip out of control. Convenience has trumped cooking and my weight is creeping up to a number I swore to never see again. I also have to make choices not to eat out if possible. Eating out is too hard for me to make good choices and makes me…
  • I make variations of quinoa dishes with it. The goat cheese really compliments it. I will make quinoa and saute some shrimp or chicken sausage and spinach with garlic and evoo, then toss together and top with goat cheese.
  • Monistat also makes an anti chafing gel that is good. It is not a yeast infection treatment! (But you might find it near there) It's good for friction and at most Targets
  • I have been interested in Astrology for a long time. I do not put much weight into horoscopes because they are not usually specific and you don't know who is writing them. But, I do put weight into the personality profiles. Especially if you know your rising sign, moon sign, etc. Some people may deviate on points due to…
  • No worries for the hijack. My main thing had nothing to do with the ED, just thought it was probably a contributing factor. Just wanted to get opinions on if fantasizing about sex with other people while you are in a relationship is a bad sign. I think I just have to battle my own urges to flee when I feel constricted or…
  • I will tell my BF that you are all very upset that his lack of health insurance prevents him from getting Viagra. lol:laugh:
  • He does work out. Weights three times a week and he walks hills with his dog. He is a big, broad guy in general but can definitely stand to lose 40-50lbs. He does not know how to cook so he may not eat enough some days but then eats crap like pop tarts and saltines. I would be interested in him doing a profile to see how…
  • Greek guy was fun but he was flaky and we didn't really talk but I don't think we had much in common. lol He comes around when he wants to, not reliable, not easy to be with. My bf is the first guy that I just felt at ease with. Like it's natural for us to be together. I'm still an aloof Aquarius, so I don't want to be…
