  • Drank at least 80 oz of water yesterday! Half way there today! I had a half of a mini chocolate that a friend brought back from Victoria - 4.5 carbs... not the best choice I know, but, better than eating 3 or 4 of them!
  • I'll join in! Had a great 8 months on low carb and lost 70+ lbs, then plateaued for a year, and then the last three months I was really lax and creeped back up 18lbs, so started back on the weightloss plan last week. Down 8 of the 18! Now just 10 and then another 70lbs to go!! Starting today with toastless French toast…
  • I've been counting net carbs (i.e. subtracting the fiber) as that has been working for me. If it stops working, I'll modify what I'm doing, but until then, I'm doing what works for me
  • Tried on a pair of capris that my mom gave me a few years back that were always too tight to comfortably wear. Guess what I'm wearing today!! :) I'm really noticing the way my clothes are fitting, items that used to be tight are now loose. I know I've still got a long way to go, but I love the 'skinny' feeling of clothes…

  • The way the weight is just melting off. The way I'm practically never hungry and keeping below my daily calorie allowance doesn't even require thought, it just naturally happens. The good food. The positive feelings I have :) And because I know this it the only woe that has ever really worked for me.
  • Haven't quite been keeping up with mine - exercise 3 times per week. I've worked out once so far. But I'll keep at it.
  • Sent you a request, please add me to the secret group :)
  • Thanks yarwell and KnitOrMiss. That's basically what I'm talking about.
  • I am confused. How do you reduce dietary fat on a low carb, high fat diet?
  • I don't mean going over your carb limit, I just mean making the whole meal itself more ketogenic. I would still be staying under my daily carb allowance.
  • So, today the management staff at work cooked breakfast for the employees as a thank you for their hard work and dedication. This meant I had to get up at 4:30 am this morning to get in to work early. It also meant that, since we were serving pancakes, turkey bacon, eggs, fruit, chocolate, whipped cream and syrup syrup…

  • I'm sure it's different for everyone. I know that once your body gets used to the increased water intake, the frequency of urination goes down - I used to drink 4L a day when I was on Atkins years ago (that's just over a gallon) and my body adapted - I didn't keep it up though, I dropped it to 2-3 L a day because 4 was a…
  • About 80oz down now... and I am so full, I have no desire to drink at all. Urine is very clear, so I'm figuring I'm pretty hydrated at the moment... But I think I'll work on the rest tonight, cuz there's no room for any more right now!
  • Oh, sorry! Didn't realize you can't do the artificial sweeteners... :/
  • Is that the ratio I should be aiming for? 1/2 an oz per pound? I'm gonna have to up it even moar! ;D I hit my first 64oz by noon. Peed three times already lol!
  • Have you tried the Mio Sport water flavours? They are supposed to be like a Gatorade type electrolyte drink that is 0 calorie. I'm finding them very salty tasting (and sometimes they seem almost musty to me, but I have weird taste buds). That might be a solution for you.
  • I'm on a thyroid medication as well, and that is what has leveled out my energy, as far as I can tell. For years I was always registering in the "low-normal" range, and I kept saying I was hypothyroid, but it took finally getting to see an endocrinologist to get prescribed some medication.
  • Yeah, nothing like that so far. I was planning on bringing it up next visit anyway, which will probably be a whole other battery of tests.... bleah.
  • I've been having what I think is ovary pain on my left side. Started shortly after I started eating LCHF - and as soon as I felt it, I recalled that I used to have that same pain back when I was doing Atkins, about a decade ago. It's more of a dull achy feeling than actual pain, lower left abdomen. I supposedly have a cyst…
  • My energy levels without the Metformin are much better than they were pre-PCOS diagnosis. I'm not nearly as tired now, and I don't get the afternoon lulls now that I'm LCHF, but I wouldn't say I have high energy, so I might give that a try.
  • I'm going to add in some exercise this month, -, strength training and/or cardiovascular (that I can do that's not too hard on my knee) and aim for three times a week to start. Need to build some muscle.
  • annalisbeth74 and KnitOrMiss, on MyFitnessPal ;) One of my favourite Trek episodes :) My husband and I quote it all the time :)
  • I didn't get it at all when I started, but I had a day of it after I slipped out of ketosis for a weekend (wedding) and went back in - this was after about 2 months.
  • Lol, have to say that's a *little* more greasy than I like. Maybe someday, but right now that still makes me shudder hehe
  • Yeah, I'm not bothering with feeling guilty - this was more of an annoyance because it was unplanned. Last time I did low carb I did great until I let myself cheat - and saw how little that cheat affected me which led to more cheats and then the slippery slope to gaining it all back + the bonus 25lbs. Not going to let that…
  • I too want to lose 100+lbs. I'm doing low carb, down 26lbs so far, would still like to lose another 120 or so -limited exercise right now as I have a knee injury that makes it difficult to do a lot. Feel free to friend me!
  • Yes, I was taking B12, but it didn't seem to make any difference. I'm hoping the low carb WOE will help.
  • This has been one of my staples. I make one at least once a week, if not more. I like the idea of adding in the extract or cocoa, I'll have to try that!
  • For me, it's the promise I made to my DH that, for me, is way harder to break than a promise to myself. That has given me the right mindset and determination to stick to it. I don't know if that's helpful at all, but it is what has helped me.
