Why are you trying to get below 1290? That is very close to the minimum amount that you should be eating anyway.

I can't speak for the male amount but it is 1000 for females. It won't set your calorie budget lower than 1200 but it will let you close your diary at anything above 1000 net.

How do you recommend weighing dishes? My scales are the small, "typical" kitchen scales and I don't know how I would measure a full 3/4 portion meal on there? Especially if it has multiple components? Do you have any tips?

I know I've missed a couple of days but have just got back into trying to be more active and am so unfit it's embarrassing! I'm going to set myself a goal of about 15 miles to run this month 😬😬

Your muscles could be holding onto to water due to the exercise. Ignore the above comment, you are not gaining muscle on 1200 calories and only cycling. Have you answered how you measure your food yet?

No. Go for the box. Always the box. Things can change and MFP won't be aware until a user inputs the different data. They will be different because of different weights and ingredients

I've mentioned it in conversation if the topic arises but I doubt it's information that he has retained. Not a bit deal. I only weigh half a stone less than him which I hate but I don't think he gives two hoots about it all
