My mother had T2, so did her brother, who’s been stick thin all his life. Their mother was likely diabetic likely diabetic going back and my grandfathers sister had diabetes, also stick thin all her life. It seems to run in the family, thin or overweight.

I no longer weigh. I go by my clothes. It’s taken the whole scale obsession out of the way. I have no idea what I weigh these days and I’m happy about that. I always close my eyes at the docs.

I kicked the habit a few years ago, but have never managed to go without the nicotine lozenges. I’m still using a few a day as mints. Still wishing I could do without those though.

I don't like Lidl Skyr, but the Arla stuff is fab. Great for meeting protein goals too.

Always, unless I eat plenty bulk volume foods, instead of calorie dense ones.

Also bear in mind, that some of us, TDEE or not, will gain on 1480 a day. Be honest with your intake and if you're not losing on that calorie limit, adjust it down bit by bit, or increase exercise.

Umm. Well I'm diabetic and test my blood regularly. Drinking diet soda has never once caused a blood sugar spike. What's more, an increase of insulin would lower blood sugar levels if that was true, so instead of injecting insulin, all T1's and T2 diabetics should be prescribed diet soda and be hunky dory with no limb…

CICO is a fad....

I can lift heavier after a run. No idea why, but perhaps it's being warmed up.

I've learned to live with the calves my mother blessed me with. I hated them as a teenager, and with shorts, I still hate them. Now there's no fat and more or less, just muscle there, they have good shape, but I'll always hanker after lean calves. Never gonna happen, sadly. They look fine in jeans though.

Perhaps I drink too much fluid, but I wouldn't be able to function on 1litre and a couple of mugs of something. I drink more fluid than that by lunchtime. I carry fluid on walks and long runs too. With a good mix of energy supportive foods, I'd just ease into the exercise and tone down the intensity until you can function…

This. And when it rains here, it can be cold. San Diego, walking in the rain would be fabulous. Umbrella or not. I only stay in during storms.

Next for sports t-shirts. Quick dry kind. This year the short sleeved black one is very very good. Nike for tights. Usually get those at Next or Sports Direct. Expensive but they last for years. I've worn out cheap ones in months. Nike running tops with half zip and long sleeves, I go up 2 sizes for length. Sports Direct…

I have never imbibed a sports drink, though I do use protein shakes, but not before a workout. Before a no food workout I drink fluid, or I get lightheaded, and always take a bottle of water with me on a run. I've always been put off drinking calories in fluid that's not going to fill my belly for a few hours. I tend to…

I use the natural chocolate, chocolate and coconut, unflavoured and strawberry a lot. I ise the chocolate to make chocolate pudding mostly, mixed with Skyr. Love it. Also have drops, protein crisps and high pro bars. Love them for the price. I tried the lemon cheesecake and it's true to the lemon, hence too bitter for me…

I'd have a big bar of chocolate and end up with dry roasted nuts.

It's part of life that we don't agree with everything. The teacher is trying to introduce healthy eating habits. Nothing wrong with that. Our school removes unhealthy snacks and fizzy juice from the kids. I don't agree with that as we paid for it, but accepted it. I'd supply the healthy snack so my kids fit in at school…

I used it to get my blood sugar under control when I was first diagnosed diabetic. Hated it. After a while, I began to feel sick at the though of yet more fat and protein, eggs, cheese and chicken. I much prefer higher protein, dairy and healthy carbs when I'm in control of my food. Fatty carbs like sweets cakes and…

Menopause in my thirties and diabetic and hypothyroid. It took me longer than others, but losing weight is very doable. I did away with HRT and went with exercise. I'm well out the other side, but the first few years, I believed the junk out there for info and thought I was doomed. Life goes on, beautifully.

It depends what you like to do. For me, treadmill and kettlebells with a mat are now a minimum. For you, it could he something else entirely.

There's also the consideration that many strongman type athletes look pudgy. As do some on a bulk with clothes on or unflexed. What trainers look like doesn't necessarily reflect what they can do/know.

Weigh your food, and enter into the app. We can't guess what we can't measure in most cases, as it's easy to misjudge calories eaten. That looks like enough for around four people, but perhaps the dish is an optical illusion. Looks like it will be tasty though.

On holiday if I'm not comfortable running alone, I make a wee circuit in room and jog with small steps in circles, but lift legs higher than outside, ie jumping slightly more, and add stairs if there are any. Monotonous, but keeps the same muscles going short term. I just do it about 20 mins, then do something else.

No cotton. Black or dark clothes. Hides it all. I even wear thin black in runner runs outdoors mostly, but quick dry material hides it fast.

I hate working out with much in my stomach. Half a banana, piece of toast sort of thing at most.

I have most problem when it's near freezing or ahem dog dirt under leaves. Now don't ask me how I know that's slippy, or I'll be forced to remember a memory I've tried hard to erase from my brain.

It depends. I did only cardio for a year - running. My thighs and calves got stronger, firm and bigger in an overall deficit, but it did nothing for the rest of me and my glutes never activated. I don't believe cardio alone is enough for many of us. It depends what we want really. With squats and some beginner lifting,…

Had it for years, off and on. Mine affects my whole rib cage when it strikes and I can't wear anything with a snug band around the rib cage. Believe me, as a girl runner, it's punishing not being able to flatten down the ladies. Painkillers and volterol gel helped me, as did heat pad on the worst areas to help sleep. I…

I felt like that all through C25K and for a fair while afterwards. I took a long time to think 1-2 miles running was fairly easy, and I still often struggle for the first 10 minutes. Good suggestions above. Barring physical conditions, it depends I think, whether we want to persevere or find something we enjoy more.

I'm of the camp that says don't fret it. On holidays, I prepare myself for eating badly and then just get back on the horse afterwards. When I was younger, I used to make the mistake of thinking I'd blown it and keep eating badly, for months..... Once you learn you are in control, it becomes easier to have a blow out. It's…
