  • Feel free to add me as a friend. I'm a stay at home Mom of 3, who got sober 10 yrs ago. A lot of times people with addiction are self medicating because they have physical/mental health issues and are seeking relief. Uou mentioned your PTSD and thats a very common symptom. I suffer from depression which presents with…
  • I was like you and always used a ton of creamer in my coffee. I've backed down to 1tbsp in a single cup now of Fat free/Sugar free vanilla creamer. It's only 15 calories but it definitely doesn't taste like real cream.
  • I try to eat the same at all three meals leaving enough extra calories for two snacks, one before lunch and one before dinner.
  • Lower your sodium intake between now and then, drink plenty of water. It usually takes me a day or two if I've gone crazy with the salt to alleviate it.
  • Sounds yummy! I'd probably use plain greek yogurt instead. It's still tangy and tastes great.
  • Thanks for the idea! That sounds yummy!
  • I agree, more fruits and vegetables. I see a lot of drinks or bars instead of whole foods. I guess it all comes down to preference if you're within your calories, but why not eggs, veggies and greek yogurt w/ fruit for breakfast. Or snack on carrots, cucumbers, peppers or almonds instead of sweets. Just my two cents. Fwiw,…
  • This. It hurts like hell but do it everyday. Also, freeze a sports bottle with water in it and use that as your rolling pin.
  • Mine is open. I eat 1450 calories a day so that could give you a good idea. I weigh everything and have some recipes built but would be happy to give you the details of them if you'd like.
  • But seriously just jump up and down nekkid in front of a mirror...if it jiggles and isn't boobs or genitals it's probably fat [/quote] Bahahaha! This had me belly laughing! Which consequently did jiggle....
  • This is a great idea! I used to make a version using canned tomato soup but now that I've cut my sodium intake, this dish would be great to put in rotation! Thanks!
  • I recently found Jif peanut powder and it has no added sugar or sodium, just roasted peanuts. Tastes awful on toast but great in smoothies.
  • I weigh every morning after using the bathroom and before I eat or drink anything, no clothes. I just try to mimic the same scenario and time of day that I weigh. It helps me gauge how much sodium I've had, whether my muscles are holding more water after a work out or perhaps it's that lovely time of the month when I hold…
  • I think a safe rule is to drink half your body weight in ozs each day. Your urine should be light yellow to clear. If not, drink more. Also, a lot of times I think I'm hungry, drink a glass of water instead and find out I was just thirsty. The cues can feel similar.

  • I've cut down on my coffee since watching what I eat. Mostly because I used to use lots of sugary creamers. Now that I see how many calories they were adding to my day, I've cut back to two cups of joe a day. I enjoy a Tbsp of french vanilla, sweet, fatty, delicious creamer in my first cup, then warm up my mug for the…

  • Thanks for sharing your experience. That's what I was hoping to get out of the Fitbit, a more accurate idea of calorie burn. I spend so much time and effort weighing, logging and maintaining my diet that I'd hate to throw that away by guesstimating mfp's excercise calories.
  • I have the same issues. I've had three children and have degenerative disc disease in the early stages at age 34. So, I hired a PT to help me stengthen my core and teach me proper form. We do a lot of free weight excercises and use my own body weight for resistance. These help engage the core to keep balance. One thing I…
  • Just piggybacking on this as I'm looking at getting the same device....when these are synced, do you still eat back only half of your excercise calories?
  • Toasted bread, rub a garlic clove on the toast, spread fresh avocado on toast, top with sardines and drizzle balsamic vinegar and cracked pepper! Divine!
  • Something to consider if you have a club nearby that offers it, water aerobics. I usually see older folks that have joint or stability issues but I did this when I was preggo with my second and 8 months along. It helps keep you keep stable and avoid injury from falls (we all get clumsy as we get bigger) but offered great…
  • Babybel light 50 calories, carrots, unsalted mini pretzels, cucumber, tomato and onion salad, cottage cheese with fresh fruit.
  • Target now sells women's Hanes dri fit underwear with moisture wicking and seamless in thongs, sport cut and hipsters. They're roughly $20 for 3 pairs. They stay in place and I've worn them with my yoga pants and have no panty lines.
