  • Just take it one day at a time. Like everyone else has said. There are several on here that started between 450 and 550 pounds, and they did it. It was a long journey, but they were successful and you can be too.
  • I had to lose about 40 pounds before *I* saw a difference. My family could see it before I could. But generally speaking, I need to be smaller before small amounts make a big difference.

  • MPF has a thing you can use to figure it out, but their estimate is usually really low. Whatever it says, you could easily add 200-300 more calories and still lose weight.

  • I only count calories. I do not exercise. I may eventually exercise, but I'll need to be very close to my goal weight before I even attempt it. Exercise does terrible things to my appetite. If I burn 600, I'll eat 1200 or worse, and I end up fat/fit. Now, if I lose it all THEN exercise. Not so bad cause I'm already skinny.

  • I am 5'9", small frame - and I can be anywhere from 135 - 150, depending on how much muscle I have. Someone taller would probably want to weight more to avoid looking like a skeleton.
  • I would say do a water flush. The majority of that is probably salt intake. So I would handle this by drinking water and coffee only for a couple days while logging everything in detail. What you do down to in 48 hours will tell you what was water weight. What's left is weight gain.

  • That is horrible. WHile I do not have a chronic pain condition, I don't exercise for other reasons. I can tell you that just with portion control, I"ve lost 46 pounds in the last 150ish days. So it is possible to just lose weight with diet. It's just slow . . sooooo sllooowwww
