20lb. About 11% of my start weight.

Congrats!

It's a cool idea, I've considered it myself. It would take a really long time, though. Mathematically speaking, if you could know exactly what your maintenance TDEE is (you can't) and eat exactly that every day (you can't possibly be that precise) it would take (literally) forever. (I mean both "literally" and "forever"…

I don't even have a food scale. Don't let weighing stuff get between you and counting calories. Weighing might be better than measuring by volume, measuring by volume might be better than eyeballing, and even eyeballing is probably better than not logging at all. I also let my intake swing hundreds of calories above and…

This is going to sound like a line, but it's true: Some of my best friends are farmers and food producers, mostly organic, but not totally. It sounds like yours are, too. Cool. And cool that they tried organic. Also, Round Up (by Monsanto) is an herbicide, that's why crops are bred or genetically modified (by Monsanto) to…

sorry... 2511.3+cheesy's 35 + kml's 1 + my 24 = 2571.3

I almost totally agree. Just because an organism has been genetically modified doesn't make it unsafe to eat. Personally, the main reason I tend to avoid GMO foods is that I'm concerned about what plants are being genetically modified for, namely, Roundup resistance. I don't like the idea of participating in a food…

What the fat was covering up... I found a lump on my thyroid and told the doctor it had sprung up out of nowhere. He was like, well, did you lose weight recently? Sometimes the fat obscures the growth of nodules. (Just got the biopsy results, BTW, it's not cancer.) Also, the f-ing bra thing. Nothing fits, and they're too…

Congratulations, wow! Good luck in maintenance, and let us know how it goes.

Congratulations, you look great!

Congratulations!!

Actually, your cleanse sounds like what I eat most of the time, and I totally sympathize with wanting to make a dramatic gesture to signify the start of your new life. Do what feels good to you, in a "hooray! I love myself! and I feel peaceful and happy and healthy and I'm so glad this is how I'm going to live the rest of…

Congratulations!

I'd add watch out for the impulse to try to come in more and more under your calorie goal, rather than close to it.

I hope you don't mind my saying...Day-um.

Not only do guys flirt with me again, but I have the nerve to flirt back ;-)

Fitnessblender.com You can buy a structured plan that tells you when to do which of their free online workout videos. The low impact plan incorporates a fair bit of strength work and is good for beginners. After that you could get one of their other strength plans that are a little more hard core.

hot stuff! I love that lace top on you. Congratulations!

Oh my gosh, I totally hear you. I'm dreading being around my family in a couple of weeks because they know I'm watching my intake and are bound to scrutinize and verbalize. Because I'm a well socialized human person I do actually care about what other people think, and am disproportionately affected by my family's…

I know what you mean. I used to obsess over the scale and have tired lots of ways to be healthy about it. I settled on weighing once a day, first thing in the morning (after a pee), and using a trending software to smooth out short spikes and dips. If it helps I could show you my chart so you can see how comforting it…

Maybe if you wean yourself onto something plainer like cheerios or chex by mixing it with less and less sugary cereal, you'll grow to appreciate the subtler flavors of grain. On the other hand, a serving of chex is one cup and with 1/2 cup of skim milk it comes to 150 calories. I think it's a fine breakfast with some…

Yesterday I really wanted "ice cream". Like, I could feel it in my mouth just thinking about it. At the grocery store, I almost checked out without it, but my son (bless his heart) convinced me to go back for a pint of so delicious coconut turtle trails. At home, I sat down with the carton, a spoon, and the latest episode…

Hey. That sounds really hard. I was just telling my now-eleven-year-old that when he was a baby I couldn't imagine having any other responsibilities because he was so clingy, I pretty much kept the house clean and took care of him, and nothing else. I couldn't imagine having another kid, or actually cooking anything, or…

On a diet or not, don't skip the green papaya salad!

I recently saw my doctor about a possible B12 deficiency so I did a little research about the shot and talked with her about it a little before going to get my blood work. My understanding (based on cursory web searches on sites like WebMD and other public-facing health sites) is that a B12 deficiency can cause symptoms…

I ordered a suit online. I had been feeling a little fatter than usual (didn't own a scale at the time) so I ordered it one size bigger than what I thought of as my "bigger" size. I could barely squeeze into it. When I went out and bought a scale I "saw a number I never wanted to see again" (@Rapril2000) so I started…

Uhg, that sounds super frustrating! I know people on this forum love to say "starvation mode doesn't exist, you must be wrong about your logging" but that's an oversimplification, I think. I know it must be insanely scary to consider upping your intake when you're already not losing and you have worked so hard to get where…

i was also unpleasantly surprised when I finally stepped on the scale this spring. I think you're in the right place. Welcome back, and good luck!
