  • I have been a runner for a long time but have recently "slowed the f*** down" after watching a TED talk by a cardiologist that someone had posted under a thread of the same name. I have found the joy in running again. No more pain just enjoyment. I learn so much with this group.
  • I am a recovering Quest bar addict @StephieWillcox. 42 days clean. Still have some lingering in my cupboards. Stay strong!
  • Runners Porn Starring today's run in the beautiful Vermilion river valley. Very hilly. Definitely a challenge. 6 miles in 1:17
  • With ya @ChoiceNotChance. Calories absolutely count for me. I have yet to experience the "forget to eat"- on this plan or at any other time in my life :) I don't get that starving hungry like I used to and I don't crave carbs but I do get hungry near lunch and supper and can eat little too much at meal time.
  • Some days I'm just mental
  • Did not realize how high smoked pork ribs were in carbs. Ended up with 69 carbs today- over double what I usually eat. Trying to track before I eat but didn't have a chance before going to the in laws for the dang ribs. Hope this doesn't affect me too much as I have determined my carb threshold is very low.
  • Niiiiiiice @gam3rguy!! The people behind you at the fire look a little worried. Hope you are stoked about doing this- a tough race! I am with you @Beeps2011. Been watching the coverage and it is horrible. Hope everyone got out safe. Late workout-started after 8:30pm! Late for this old gal. Did shoulders and abs. Hate doing…
  • Rooting for you.
  • 2 good days after a couple of tough days last week. Held my carbs well but ate too many calories. Also had a couple of jello shots on friday night which seemed to trigger extreme carb cravings on saturday. I think my carb tolerance is extremely low. No more sugar or alcohol.
  • Leg day! Got up early to get them done before heading to the city. Hot, hot, hot here- record breaking temps.

  • Looking forward to seeing a pic of the fire jump @gam3rguy. Pretty cool. Lats (discovered just how weak these are today) and biceps (fave thing to work on) this morning followed by a 30 minute TM run. Beautiful warm day here so the afternoon will be yard work.
  • Well done @gam3rguy. Sweet momento! Did you have to run through fire or anything crazy like that? After a very disappointing day yesterday- wrecked my diet and laid around like a sloth all day- I picked myself up today and decided to keep going. Chest and tris today.
  • 4 rounds of 50 jacks, 40 mountain climbers, 30 tuck jumps, 20 burpees and 10 push-ups in 23 minutes. If you want to be at your max heart rate (which at our age isn't hard to do
  • Feeling a little under the weather this morning. Went to a bday party last night, had 2 drinks with one ounce of vodka in each over the entire course of the evening, and am now trying to track down the license of the Mack truck that ran me over. Felt this way a month ago after 1 1/2 glasses of wine. I think my drinking…
  • Eventually everyone enters.[/quote] Ha! Sad but true. 60 minute full body strength.
  • Thanks for sharing @wanderinjack. My last half was disastrous and I was looking for a different approach. Now that I have hopefully transitioned to a fat burner, I am going to give this a try. I bought the book! I was one of those carrying an extra 30 lbs at the start line, after sometimes putting in 200 mile months. I am…
  • 35 minute TM run.
  • Very hard 35 minute fartlek on the mill. Glad it's over. Finished with 72 push ups and some hanging leg raises. These were kinda pitiful. Need to work on them. Hit the 140s yesterday- haven't been there in over 5 years.
  • Long (60 minute) sloooooow recovery run. Nice guns @gam3rguy
  • Wow! They are brave as so much controversy still exists. It is fantastic and I hope they succeed.
  • Carbs are like a drug for me. If I start going down the sugar road I know I will not be able to stop. I am going to maintain this ketotic state and if I want something sweet I make something LCHF. I have been reading that carbohydrate tolerance is extremely variable among people, so you might not be as affected by them as…
  • @RalfLott Today is my 37th day. Hard to believe a 50 year old body could respond so quickly. Wish I had known about LCHF 30 years ago!! Could have saved myself years of starvation.
  • Lower body HIIT. The nice thing about farming @tojo_73 is that you always show a loss! I was self employed for 20 years and always seemed to pay a bunch.
  • I had a "geographic tongue" since birth. It looked like ulcers on my tongue and could be painful some days. They are gone and my tongue is a healthy pink. Had a large varicose vein developing on my thigh- it's 90% gone My hair is thicker and I lose less when brushing it out after a shower. No more exercise induced asthma.…
  • I just made some delish biscuits that taste just like the ones at Red Lobster. They are on the site www.ketogenic-diet-resource.com/low-carb-biscuits.html 2g carb each and 9g fat.
  • 35 minute TM interval run. Going up to 8.5mph which feels like an all out sprint when in reality it, well, really isn't. I have a 64 year old brother in law who can run a 10k in just over 30 minutes. That's impressive! It's never too late @nicolaxhogan. Experiment and find what works best for you and then keep at it. I am…
  • We raise beef- ANY beef is good beef :)
  • @Sunny_Bunny_ I am currently on my way over to your house for one of those
