  • I usually try to eat what mfp tells me, and then allow myself to "cheat" for the amount of calories I burned through exercise.
  • I eat after I workout at night. You want to give yourself about 2 hours after eating before a hard workout (or at least cardio) workout. That's about how long it takes to digest some of what you are so it's not sitting in your stomach.
  • And thyroid, that may need checked and may as well if you are getting your blood checked. Calories are energy. If you cut too much, you won't have energy. Sleep is helpful too.
  • I have been using under amour grit off-road shoe. I'm definitely thinking not going for minimal, but I don't want a maximal shoe, like the hoka's. The bare access has more cushion than the trail glove. The Altra Superior's seem good too. The Lone Peak seems good too, but is heavier and pretty thick. Thanks for the reply by…
  • Thanks poeparkour I'll check them out. Moyer, indont really have a local running store. Just a few sporting goods store, and i don't think they are super knowledgeable about gait and stuff.
  • I'm on the same page as Carl. Dynamic stretches (lunges, bodyweight squats, but kicks, ect) are good warm-up s before running. Static stretching is good after running. Basically dynamic stretches are moving stretches and are minor exercise in themselves. Static stretches are the bend and hold stretches people think of as…

  • I think running on trails is the hardest but most enjoyable, followed by any outdoor running. I have mostly been using the treadmill due to the weather (I don't know the ins and outs of cold weather running and clothing). I did go for an outdoor run yesterday for the first time this year. It was a lot harder to pace myself…
  • Thanks robininfl. These past two days I've been working on stretches more. Dynamic beforehand and static after. I definitely need to work on ankle flexibility more, because I'm having trouble doing squats. Blue4miles, yeah my work shoes have thick cushion y soles and I have some nice softsol soles in them.
  • Thanks everyone! I know it is best, if I do convert, to only do a little at a time and that is why I am asking while I'm relatively new to it. I understand that there is a lot of strain on the calves, and I have been working them up some. My job causes sore calves, so I'm hoping the fore/midfoot strikes will strengthen…
  • My ex of 4 years dumped me about 2 months ago. I've been trying to improve social skills, advance my life situation, and get healthier physically. I've been going to social events I don't want to. My body has been feeling better to me. Just some motivation for you! Remember, happiness comes from within yourself and no one…

  • I've had the same problem. I think I just haven't found enough to keep me occupied over the weekends so food becomes a more noticeable desire.
  • Leaving humanity behind.
  • Honestly I have trouble with this too. I just bought a big back of baby carrots to eat when I'm really hungry (usually at night after my workout)
  • Thanks everyone! I'll try to figure out how to recalculate how much I should be eating a day.
  • Yeah, the same has been happening slowly.
