Wow, we are very similar. I have lost 62lbs but I still have 25-30lbs still left to lose. I'm 20, and I love to read and write. I would love to be friends with you on here, and help each other stay motivated and accountable. I've been slipping a little lately and need help getting on track again!

Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard!

Hey, if it is what worked for you, then it is what worked for you! Congrats on your weight loss so far, and good luck with the next leg of your journey!
-
Well I'm 20, and I have my activity level at lightly active. I don't eat 1400/1500 right now. I eat 1200/1300. So I think my TDEE is a little higher
-
By "about" I just was rounding numbers up or down by a few. Like some days I eat 1234 or some days I eat 1270. I was just trying to keep it simple for everyone. But I eat between 1200 and 1300 a day. That's all I meant by about.
-
Thank you so much for this!
-
I don't eat back calories.
-
I guess it's 2060

I don't eat 1400 calories. I eat between 1200 and 1300. My question was if I just ate 1400 a day how would that affect me. I try to do at least 500 calories for exercise on the days I work out. But thanks for sharing your experience!
-
I did say I use a food scale, and I eat about 1200-1300 calories a day. Plus I exercise and don't eat back those calories. I don't know what that makes my net calories, and I don't think eating 1000 calories a day is a healthy thing to do.
-
Okay well I'm not really sure what you're suggesting. It's not really safe for me to eat less that 1200 calories a day so...
-
I did! And I found it interesting! It seems like everyone is saying similar things. I don't know if I need to eat at maintenance for 2-3 weeks. Maybe a week would do the trick?
-
So you just started eating 1450? Were you exercising before, and if so did you keep exercising?
-
Also is it normal to be a little scared of a diet break? I don't want to lose momentum or motivation and have a hard time getting back into it
-
I'm really no more lethargic than usual lol And by that I mean, I haven't had a change in energy levels.
-
If I do choose to diet break, should I eat at maintaince? Or lower or higher? Should I still excercise?
-
I'm 5'3, so we're close in height
-
Because I eat about 1200-1300 calories a day, my calorie goal is set to 1320, and I excercise and don't eat back those calories, so I am at a deficit
-
I use a food scale! I was still losing weight pretty steady through September, but when I hit October I hit 162 and sort of stalled. I haven't seen really any weight loss since the beginning of October
-
Is maybe one day a week eating 1500 calories considered a diet break? I'm seriously asking
-
I am definitely in deficit
-
Thank you for sharing your experience! Did you just automatically kick up your calories to 1800? Or was it gradual?
-
For those who suggested a diet break, what if I feel I don't need one? I'm not completely opposed to the idea, and would take one if it really is the best thing for me to do, but I feel like a diet break is more for mental reasons and I don't feel like I mentally need one haha My wanting to eat just a little more is not…

Also I just want to thank everyone for not being so preachy (: sometimes I see people ask questions like this and replies can be a little mean. this is also just a silly thing in my head, but part of me thinks it's because I probably haven't been below this weight since I was in 5th or 6th grade, so pretty much since…

Okay so I feel like I should clarify I have no intention of completely stopping. I still have a ways to go and I'm going to get there no matter how long it takes:) My question is more along the lines of A) my weight loss is supposed to slow down like this (although like I said it's been a while since I've seen much lbs…

Wow thanks for all this info guys! I guess I'm always confused because I'm a student, so a good portion of my day is sitting. But I notice my steps tend to add up, from walking back and forth to classes, up and down the stairs, and back and forth to my apartment. I usually walk somewhere between 8000-10000 steps on a…

To get under 160 by November. Currently 163, so it's doable if I stick with myself.

I'm smaller than my older sister! A huge victory for me because when we were both teenagers she used to hold it over me that she weighed less than me or had a smaller pants size. She can't say that anymore

I'm finally, finally, out of the obese BMI category. Even though my doctor told me not to pay too close attention to it, it was always something that bothered me. Finally beating it is a huge NSV for me. Next stop, normal BMI!

If there was any doubt that I lost weight, the past two days I've worn shirts that I haven't worn for a couple of months and they were very big on me. A couple of months ago both shirts were snug on me, almost borderline tight, but now it's almost comical the way they were falling off my shoulders. The scale has been…
