I was gathering the laundry and grabbed some jeans off the floor and looked at them and thought that one of my friends must have left them when she was over the other night because they looked so small.... but they were mine.34

I food prepped & prelogged two lunches this week. I didn't realize how much easier that would make it to be concious of other food choices during the day to meet macros. It also helped to eliminate decision fatigue.
I also tried quinoa for the first time. Yay for trying new foods that have you go "huh?"27 -
I put a pair of pj's on that I hadn't worn in a while and they bottoms fell straight back down (and no, the elastic hadn't gone)26

As I was out on my bike today, it suddenly hit me that I really, really enjoy exercise.
This, from the girl who at school hated exercise to a point whereby she would do anything, literally anything, to get out of doing sports. If I had an excuse, I used it. My favourite being that I had my period (which, according to me, went on for a couple of weeks - good job the teachers never counted )The only activity I enjoyed at school was swimming, and that was only because I was really good at it, could hide in the water and not have to get changed in front of the other students (I used to make a point of being last out, so by the time I got to the showers they were empty, ditto the changing cubicles).
I also realised that I no longer exercise to get more calories to eat. I exercise to improve my health and fitness and to prove to myself that I can achieve more - go further, faster, over more hilly terrain. And I am doing this! If my old PE teachers from school could see me now, they'd faint with shock. The calories are just an added benefit.
Realising this makes me smile and laugh inside. My only regret is that I left it so long to do this. But I'm doing it now and loving it!30 -

I inadvertently put on an old (bigger) pair of trousers today. I put my socks on, stood up to grab my top and the darn trousers fell down.
I'll be clearing out my wardrobe again tomorrow20 -
I put on a size 8 pair of dress pants this morning, and they fit perfectly.
Eight months ago, I was wearing a size 16.41 -
I had another one today. This morning when I put on my belt that I have not worn in a few weeks, I was able to use the next hole.... I may or may not have made my daughter and boyfriend guess what I was pointing at on my belt. My 13 year old daughter was laughing so hard when she said "You got a new belt hole".... Why yes I did! it was both hilarious and true19

My big reason for beginning this journey after years of denial and so much weight was related to a horrible experience walking while on vacation. My family and I were in a beautiful place walking across these cool tree top hanging bridges and after just two sections (maybe 8 blocks) I seriously thought I was going to die. I was so frustrated and angry at myself that I couldn't enjoy this magical place with my family. And so embarrassed I cried and cried.
Well yesterday I walked 6 miles. I never thought I could do that. Now I'm beginning to wonder if there is anything I can't do including losing the rest of this weight I am lugging around.
Thanks for the inspiration all of you!54 -
Dress pants do go the fastest. I have replaced more dress pants in my wardrobe than anything else.
Okay weird! Yes! What is it with the dang dress pants!!!!!! Love it though. Great boost to one's momentum10 -
I guess I have 2 NSVs this time...
-I have walked over 8 miles so far this week.
-Went to the pantry to grab my chocolate after dinner. Opened the door, decided that my calorie goal was more important, closed the door and walked away. Painful, but worth it. If I had only exercised today, I'd have my chocolate!35 -
Ran my mile in 12 minutes and 30 seconds. This coming from a girl who's never ran before!33

I had another one today...we have been short one person in my office for a couple of years so the workstation thats sort of behind me has been vacant. I have enjoyed it because it was always kind of awkward when someone was there. We sat back to back and if that person had their chair pushed back I had to really squeeze to get by them or they had to move closer to their keyboard. Last week someone started using that desk and I just realized today that I don't have to sqeeze to get by anymore! In fact, the guy had his chair pushed way back and I STILL had room to walk through. I was even able to do the happy dance and go through! Lol36

OK I know I have read on MFB that sometimes feet get smaller with weight loss and it is true. The gorgeous green boots I bought last March were a bit uncomfortable-ok for an evening but killed my feet for a full day. Wore them all day Wed. They are that much bigger (and perhaps because my weight is lighter)16

I've seen this a few times now, so I decided to hang onto my old (as in ten years, but still serviceable) winter boots for another year and maybe get a stylish new pair next year instead, when hopefully I'll be at my goal weight!

@Madwife2009 I know how this feels, because I feel EXACTLY the same way!!! Thanks for putting it into words - I haven't wrapped my brain around enough to be able to explain this feeling!9 -
I was in a hurry the other day and put on a pair of charcoal dress slacks. It was a tiny bit snug but fine and wearable. When I got home I looked at the size tag, and it was a whole size smaller than what I've been wearing! I was able to hook and zip it up. Yippee!20

My weight hasn't gone down significantly in the last month or two but I've still been working out and logging, and I went shopping yesterday and it's so nice to just have options of clothes and sizes! I even tried a couple of mediums on, which I didn't think would happen for another 20 lbs at least!23
-
I finally made it through a complete run through of my routine for the Open House at the end of the month. I was completely exhausted, and there are a few kinks that need to be smoothed out, but I did it. I'm so happy.20

I have a pair of pants that I found in my closet back in July. When I tried them on then, I couldn't even button them. I didn't start getting serious about eating better and getting activity in until just about a month ago. Today, I am wearing the pants to work...they just fit, but they are zipped and buttoned, and are not cutting into me.
I have only lost a few pounds over the last month, but this helps me see that every little bit of progress is progress!!16 -
my skinny pj's that didn't fit in may are now my fat pj's20

I'm finally, finally, out of the obese BMI category. Even though my doctor told me not to pay too close attention to it, it was always something that bothered me. Finally beating it is a huge NSV for me. Next stop, normal BMI!42

This is not really my NSV, but maybe kind of a collective one:
It's really, really fun to have been here long enough that people I first saw on "Getting Started" or "General Diet & Weight Loss" threads, are now showing up on "Success Stories" threads like this NSV one, "Photo Only Success Stories", etc.
People I read saying "I'm freaked out because I overate" or "I can't figure out how to do this" or "I'm a failure" are now celebrating things like "I'm 3 sizes down", "I can run a whole mile", or "I hit goal weight".
It's just so freakin' great to see this - and plenty of cases, too (though I'm not naming screen names!).61 -
Deadlifted 405x5 this morning.24

Walking home with my son earlier today, it started to rain, really heavily. I jokingly said to my son that we'd have to run, or else get completely soaked, so we ran. I have a damaged knee and the other leg is slightly swollen (no idea what's wrong with it and neither do the doctors, despite loads of tests) so I was expecting it to be excruciating but it wasn't, it was okay.
I actually RAN.
For the first time in a long, long time.
And I didn't feel like Mr. Blobby, bouncing all over the place. I didn't feel any bouncing bits at all
Next stop - C25K!39 -
I looked down at my front and realized, I only see boobs! My stomach isn't sticking out past them anymore so I can't see it just looking down. This one isn't from today but a couple of days ago I went to an hour and a half long Jiu Jitsu class, followed by an hour of kickboxing and not only lasted through both but I had tons of energy and could have done more! That was pretty amazing.27

A shirt I bought ages ago without trying on, is finally fitting across my chest - which means I am finally losing weight there and may one day be in proportion to the rest of my body!18

I took on THE hill (17%) again today. After a long, hard slog up one side on my bike, I flew down the other side. I chickened out slightly and hit the brakes until I could see to the bottom, then released the brakes and hit the fastest I have ever gone on any bike. Whilst listening to "Summer of '69" - perfect - and shooting past a group cycle ride
Pic below shows maximum speed on my bike computer:
Photo isn't great, but 40.3 mph is just CRAZY . . . I rarely go that fast in my car33 -
On my return from Spanish holiday I got back on track right away with eating and exercise. In the past I would faff about say I would get back to being in a few days but I am so proud of myself and this is second break I've had since my journey on MFP started I did put a couple of pounds on but know they will go
Love reading these posts, people are so supportive21 -
For the first time in five years since I got out of the Army, I ran! Granted it was at a 4.4 speed and I did a minute at a time while walking in between but I still ran! My friend and I have been making trips to the gym and even though I'm waiting to do C25K until after I move and can get to the gym more, I decided that I was going to run and I did it.
I don't know if I can ever get back to the times I had when I was enlisted but I'm sure gonna try!25
