Great NSV. Nothing is stupid if it helps you succeed!5 -
I wore shorts out for the first few times in about 5 years. Not capri, not down to my knee, legitimate shorts.20

I had to renew my driver's license today. The lady at the desk was going over my details and glancing up at me to double-check as she did so.
"Hair, blonde? Yep." (It's actually light brown as far as I'm concerned, but whatever!)
"Eyes, blue? Yep."
"Height, 5'6"?" *nod from me* "Yep."
"Weight, 215...?" *pause, smile, small laugh from her* "Nope!"
Made my day - it's nice to know I obviously look lighter now!

I've just started training myself for a 5K run this week. I haven't set a date and I have such a long way to go, but tonight my daughter took her dog and went out with me for my last walk of the day. The dog stopped midway up a big hill to do his thing but I kept going. I got to the top of the hill before they caught up with me. I was so proud of myself!!! And I was not out of breath completely like I used to be when faced with a hill. This stuff is addictive! LOL18

do you mind sharing what lower ab workouts you are doing?1 -

I have always been a dreamer on my drivers licence and put my weight at about 30 pounds less than it truly was. I am finally not only less than what my licence says.....but WAY less

This is why I shop mostly at second hand stores right now - so when I've shrunk out of the new clothes at least I know they didn't cost a fortune!
I'm going to need to start doing that since my brand new skinny jeans from last month are no longer fitting right

I did FOUR pull-ups in a row!!!41

Unrelated to weight loss but a huge victory nonetheless, I successfully defended my master's thesis yesterday! (Only an internship left between me and that MSc title)62

@SunflowerSandra - Congrats! That is awesome! I know how stressful that is.4 -
Picking up a 20 pound bag of cat litter and realizing I've lost that much and I'm super proud of myself26

Walked 1.25 miles today in 28 minutes and a lot of it was uphill!! I haven't walked a mile in years but I did it today. I felt amazing right after.28

@jessiferrrb my jeans are a little looser than what you showed. I've been wearing them for 20 lbs (6 months). My mom's comment when I pointed this out was that they might fit right if I lost 20 more pounds. Ahhhhh...mom!9

Today, the grocery store lady told me I was looking great!19

Ran along the ocean surf on Sunday.....always wanted to be "that" person and looky there.....31

ugh, moms! i try not to talk to mine about the process but sometimes i break down because she asks about a million times "have you lost any more weight?" or she'll say something like "i didn't know if you were still trying because i saw you eat a cookie the other day" she has always defined her worth and mine by appearances and would tell me since grade school that nobody would love me if i didn't lose weight. it's hard to separate her issues from mine sometimes.27 -
My mom called me the other night to ask me what diet and exercise I do... say what!!!??!?!?
As someone who has always been the "chunky" one in my family this was for sure a weird occurrence and not at all something I thought would happen.14 -
Put on a pair of pants this morning that haven't fit since I bought them a few years ago, and they're very comfortable! Unfortunately, now that my waist and hips fit in them, I see that the legs are cut way too baggy for what I like. Oh well - still enjoying the success!13

@SunflowerSandra Congratulations!! That's a huge accomplishment!!4

Beat my time for my cycle ride today - it usually takes me 3 hours to go 25 miles, today I did it in 2hr 23mins. And today's run was mostly uphill. I can't claim all the credit though - my new bike helped as it has another range of higher gears.
The only huge hill I went down was very steep (17%) and I hit 36mph going down it. Could have gone faster but I was scared to as it's the first time I've been down that particular hill. Next time . . . maybe14 -
Hugging my 20 something niece when I noticed my arms went right around her, I could touch each of my elbows...worried, I said "That's enough weight loss, Steph, I can totally wrap you in my arms now!!"...Little Stephie then wrapped her arms around me, and said "Aunti Tracy, I can wrap my arms around you too, YOU gotta stop now too!!"
I'll take it!27 -
Pulled a 425# deadlift last night. I hadn't previously tested my 1RM so I didn't really know what I could do. Happy with my progress so far. Today is exactly six months since I started lifting.21

I was just on vacation in CA and had to pop into Old Navy to buy a belt because my (fairly new) jeans were falling off16

This is kinda an ongoing thing, but when I started this (130 days ago woah) I couldn't fit into a pair of size twelve jeans that I loved (they're so soft).
I ended up being able to squeeze into them after about three weeks.
Well; today I wore them with a belt and they now fit as a pair of boyfriend jeans instead of straight cut. Cool ^_^22 -
I bought 2 new pair of jeans over Labor Day weekend (luckily on sale). I was happy to fit into a size 16 as apprised to size 20. Today the jeans are over 2" too big! This time I'm going to a thrift store!15

I bought a packet of Munchies today (if you aren't in the UK, they're like little square chocolates filled with biscuit and caramel) and I only ate the serving size, not the whole packet, then put them away! As someone with a wickedly bad sweet tooth this was a huge deal for me.34

If there was any doubt that I lost weight, the past two days I've worn shirts that I haven't worn for a couple of months and they were very big on me. A couple of months ago both shirts were snug on me, almost borderline tight, but now it's almost comical the way they were falling off my shoulders.
The scale has been moving, but sometimes when I look in the mirror it's hard for me to see much of a difference. So it's just nice to see whether I see the difference or not, there is one.16 -
Today I used my last training session out of the 20 I purchased almost 2 years ago. My gym membership ends in less than a week and my new agency has a gym. So I used my session to explain that I had taken almost 1.5yrs off from training and was 76lbs higher and around 15% more body fat from my last session with them (pregnancy, car wreck, meds, laziness). I asked him to use my last session to give me fresh stats and a starting point of where I am. Well today I weighed in 65lbs heavier than when I stopped all that time ago and 12% body fat higher. But I was down 11lbs from when I started eating healthy again a month ago. He ran me through a few exercises to see where I was at. I have essentially lost my back muscles, my upper and center ab muscles, and quite a bit of strength in my upper body. The good news in all of this downfall is that I retained (in his words) "great form" on squats and lunges (my previous trainer made me do those nonstop and emphasized form---im thankful for that) and that I retained a decent lower abdominal and side abdominal range. So while I'm very disappointed in actually seeing how far I've fallen and that ill be starting over worse off than I did before....Im also very thankful and remaining positive that I am starting back and that I did retain a good form on those. Plus ya know....11lbs in a month with only changing some of my eating habits is a pretty nice accomplishment!
Always have to find the bright side right?!?!?!
Ohhh......and I haven't touched the chocolate cookies and cream cake that's been tempting me in our break room whereas before I wouldve easily sat down with two slices of it. I've managed to keep my sweet tooth satisfied within reason ( a no-bake cookie instead of 12 of them, a peanut butter chocolate protein shake, etc)
(That cake is 460cal/72carbs/42sugar/0 protein in only 1/12 of it----OMG....not happening)26 -
I went out to lunch today, which wasn't in the plan, but I picked good foods and had a light dinner to compensate. When friends stop by your office and ask you if you want to go to lunch sometimes you have to say yes.23
