At 5'9", my goal weight is 170 (which is straddling that line between acceptable and overweight according to every "standard" chart I can find). I'm currently 78 pounds from that goal. Once I get closer, I'll reevaluate and adjust accordingly, likely ending up going a bit lower.

I took up this challenge on February 16th, starting at 258.2 pounds. This morning, I am happy to report I weighed in at 248.5 pounds. Accounting for water and scale fluctuations, I think it's safe to say I have hit my ten pound goal. Not going to stop, with three weeks until Easter I now want to challenge myself to lose…

Cleaning, sorting my clothes, and waiting for my grocery delivery.

That sounds so much more reasonable than mine. I’m mostly sedentary, and as of 4:30 PM with just over 3000 steps logged its giving me 440 calories and it’s driving me nuts.

Personally, I like the additional information you can gain from daily weighing so long as you don't focus on the minutiae of it all. With as much weight as I have to lose at the moment, I'm sticking to weighing in weekly. As I get closer to my goal however, and the pounds become more stubborn, I will likely go back to…

Some of my size 16 jeans are starting to get baggy. Another couple of weeks and I'll be able to shift between size 14 and 16 depending on the cut. I almost forgot what it was like to not have you jeans cutting into your stomach and leaving marks. (I refused to buy the next size up)

I'm 25, my back hurts to the point that there have been a few days, very rare but they have happened, that it was actually painful enough that getting out of bed brought me to tears. I breathe hard running up the stairs. I am no longer able to stretch and do the physical activities I enjoyed even ten years ago,…

I find the quest bars incredibly filling. They can be a bit dry so I usually end up drinking about 16oz of water while eating one and it tends to keep me satisfied for about three to four hours, usually right on time for lunch hour at work. At 200 calories most probably wouldn't consider them a full meal replacement, but…

I can only give you my personal opinion and I personally don't think Weight Watchers is worth it. I was a member as recently as about 6 months ago and I cancelled it as soon as the promotional contract I had signed with ended. The Freestyle Program, for as much as some people rave about it, I feel is too restrictive and in…

Beginning weight as of last weigh in: 258.2 Goal Weight: 248 I like this mini challenge, I like it a lot.

I was wishy washy about it for a while, I knew I was overweight, but I was never big on photos and my clothing size didn't always noticeably change as I packed on weight so I never gave it the second thought I should have. I got a real kick in the behind probably about five months ago. My mom was super unhappy with her…

Overestimating is generally our friend in that case, as you assumed. Sadly it's just about the only thing we can do for small local places.

Looking for more friends! I don't post a lot usually, but I love seeing people be active, and what they enter throughout the day! I'm just starting back up again, but I'm on a 25 day logging streak so far.

5'9 and I weigh 260lb. Depending on the type of pants and their cut, I range from a 14/16 US sizing (not that women's sizing is consistent anyways) and my tops are generally about size 18/20 or XL/XXL in US, though that has a bit to do with the fact that I have a fairly large bust size, which was true even before I packed…

See, you broke through one of your first barriers with those 8 pounds: You went from over 100 pounds to lose to under a hundred! You also gave yourself a fairly reasonable amount of time in which to lose it in, and you have the motivation to keep it up!

I haven't made the complete transition, only because I paid three months up front on a special and I'm going to get my money's worth out of it by going to all the meetings. But while I see people raving about it, Weight Watchers just isn't sustainable to me. I was dual tracking every day for the last 8 days and while I…

Hello from Jersey as well! And good for you, for deciding to live a more healthy life!

I've noticed for a while that my clothes were getting tighter, I was having more problems with my back and knees. Everyone laughed because at 24, I shouldn't be having those problems. But I was. On Thursday, I convinced my mom to go to a local weight watchers meeting and I promised her I would go with her. I got on that…

Welcome back! I too am jumping back in. I fell off the bandwagon for a couple months, but now I'm holding myself accountable through several different groups/apps and all of them working together to help myself be held accountable. :D

I'm definitely interested!

So I had a bit of technical difficulties at the start of this new year, and so I'm starting fresh and looking for a bunch of new friends to add!

I just noticed I posted this in the wrong forum. Oops. :D Happy New Year to you as well!

Isn't it amazing what a difference it makes once you learn what your feet need? But seriously, congrats on loving your new shoes. Just got fitted last night and I'm still on cloud nine from how awesome they feel.

I generally aim for every other day, though if it's been an easy couple of days I may hold out an extra day. I always use a little conditioner on the ends of my hair even if I don't wash it that day however.
-
I know it's been stated earlier, but I want to emphasize on it. Before you go buy shoes, please go get your feet measured and checked at a specialty running store if you haven't already. I put it off for forever just because I was so sure I knew my size, despite how uncomfortable my shoes have been. I just got mine fitted…

While I have no comment on the Fitbit Alta, I just checked the Fitbit store on their website and the One is still there, available for purchase, for $99.95 if it still interests you.

Thank you everyone, for the opinions and information!

This is me to the exact. Even if I'm not necessarily hungry, I have to eat SOMETHING. Breakfast is an essential part of my day for several reasons though. The first of which being that if I don't eat breakfast, it messes me up for eating the rest of the day in that I often forget to get food for myself considering that if…

Usually soy milk. I just have to sub out one of my snacks when I do.
