  • Opposite here. My girlfriend is thin and cannot throw anything away. My Zen attitude embraces the impermanence of materials and I throw out what others would consider priceless sentimental jewels. My dad, who might weigh as much as his shadow, is also a hoarder. My mom, who is bigger like me, will throw almost anything…
  • I do my best to not impose any of my ways (including LCHF) onto others. I didn't even request my household to adopt this WOE (don't want to anger those carb-monsters). More than likely, I'll stick with traditional candies for the kiddies. I may be like bunny and be a little more restrictive with how much I hand out to an…
  • The way I make it grosses everyone out. I seriously just drop a chunk of butter in the coffee, then I pour in some coconut oil. After that, I just stir with a spoon. I did try blending it once, but wasn't a fan. Recently, I picked up some 0 carb hazelnut flavoring. I've been using that now with my concoction.
  • There is a TLDR at the end if you want to skip all of this. Sorry about the late response. My daily life, as far as diet is concerned, was a caloric limit of about 1450 calories. Some days were more....and if I wasn't hungry, those days were less. I kept macros as close as I could to 75 fat, 20 protein, and 5 carb. My…
  • I think Sara's right. When I first started, I thought I wad going to starve myself. However, over about 2 months time, I realized that I would accidentally skip meals. This is counterintuitive coming from a guy that loved his carbs. I would be hungry every 2 hrs, starving after 3, and getting the shakes after 4. On carbs,…
  • I just came back from a week-long vacation. I knew this was going to be a crazy carb week, but accepted the fact and didn't feel guilty during my trip. I got home 2 days ago and immediately weighed myself - 5 lbs heavier and no color on my pee sticks. Immediately after returning home, I went back to eating the way I was…
  • Thanks!
  • ^This right here. LCHF, especially keto, can attract a lot of negative comments in the forums. This community is very supportive and has tons of great advice. Personally, I've been keto for almost 2 months and have dropped 40lbs. Given, the first 10 or so was water weight.
  • Probably a more believable, less rounded, number. With that said, I lost 29 lbs in 30 days. Where's my magazine cover?
  • Every now and then, I end up doing this unintentionally. Like most users here, I never skip my BPC in the morning. However, on busy days like today, I'm finally sitting down for my first real meal. It probably happens once a week or so. I don't notice any side effects from it. Pre-keto, my sugar shakes would be kicking in…
  • As ladipoet said, they can be inaccurate. Also, if you're active (which you are), you will show less. Another possibility is too much protein. What are your fats and proteins percentages?
  • I'm slightly over a month in. Unlike you, I weighed myself constantly. The first week was unbelievable; I lost 15lbs. I'm sure a lot of that was water weight. The remainder of the month, I lost another 14. While I initially started this woe to lose weight, it's not my primary motivator anymore. I'm happier with the way I…
  • ^This right here. To some, weighing everyday may be detrimental to one's determination. To others, it really is just a number. Personally, I am an everyday weigher. I've been lucky enough that almost every day is a loss. But when it's not, I don't feel disappointed or have any second thoughts about my woe. This isn't the…
  • @KnitOrMiss Thanks for the links. I do know about the replacements. I just haven't tried very many yet. When I'm really craving some general tsos, I now know where to go. Thanks again for the links!
  • When I cheat, I can't stop cheating. A cheat day turns into a cheat weekend, which then evolves into a high carb life. I know not everyone is like me, but my only way to stay with this WOE is to not cheat at all. I'm envious of those that can do a cheat day. I will always miss my mac and cheese and general tsos chicken.
  • If my phone is close by, I'll log it. If not, then I don't. That's my rule for black coffee. If making a BPC, I'll definitely log it.
  • I'm living a keto life as well, but kindly disagree with i6shot. Even on keto, you can gain weight (a caloric deficit has to be maintained). Plus, as scoii mentioned, it's not for everyone. I chose this option because it's what works for me. Find what works for you and do that option. Have you been logging the entire time?…
  • Seven days in and feeling great. I dropped 11.9 lbs of what I'm guessing is water weight. I don't think high protein is going to put you into a state of ketosis. My current macros are 70% fat, 25% protein, and 5% carbs.
  • Hah. My boy saw me brushing the dust of mine and said he wanted a set. I'm going to go get him some weights tonight.
  • Feel free to add me and look at my progress as well.
