  • I agree! I think it’s important to find something you can/do/or want to after this particular surgery. For most of my life, when I watched a movie, I had something to snack on, and not because I really wanted to, but it just became a habit. Habits are comforting...but, not always good for you. Now, when I eat, I literally…
  • @singingflutelady I think I’m doing okay. I take that with a grain of salt though because others see me “not well” and try to tell me what I should do/or what I should try to feel better. Someone told me that I would be better if I did the 30 day Activa yoghurt challenge to help with my digestion. Really? Um, no thank…

  • @HelenGrace203 This is me too! After my gastrectomy, I can no longer do mixed drinks. Too much sugar and I will dump (I feel a post coming about this
  • The prep ain’t pretty, but try to make it through even if it’s gross. The first time, it was an issue because it was so much to drink. I felt so full after like 5 swigs and because I didn’t finish, they had to reschedule my test. The 2nd and 3rd times, I finished the drink and did the enemas and then laxatives (not sure if…
  • @clcmfp Look at you knocking down in some years already! Crap...I wrote a really good post and it didn’t load...now I don’t remember what I wrote... But it was good! I’ll remember it later, hopefully. Anyways, keep hanging in there!
  • @ohgeeque Adipose! I had one named Buddy, but sadly he got injured and started to ooze goo when I moved to a new house, I think he spent to much time in a moving box...So sad! Anyways, it’s seems like you have a great and positive attitude! I wish you well on your journey towards a new healthy lifestyle
  • @littlegibbs62 Hi! What I often do so I can close my diary is to create a food called “extra calories to close” or whatever you want to call it. You will be prompted to put in the calories and the serving. That way MFP “sees” that you had enough calories, but you know what you ate personally. Hope this helps
  • Doing well☺️ @flame_retardant May I ask, do you drink any water during your fasting period? Also, I know you can eat after sunset, but when do you stop? Midnight? Or can you eat if you wanted to until sunrise? This is very interesting
  • So happy you made it through, You will get better more and more everyday. Just be patient.
  • @flame_retardant You must really learn how to appreciate the goods that you do get to eat when it’s time eat. Hope you have a more caloric tomorrow
  • I find this so interesting :) I am not Muslim but found myself Googling to know more about Ramadan. I hope you keep posting and I wish you well on your journey!
  • @MrsGriffin67 Hey you should join our group! (Search for the Digestive Disorders Group or the DD Crew) I was diagnosed with GP 10 years ago and I didn't even know how to spell it :D You can read my bio, BUT please do not get scared by it, because we all have to do things differently. Some do well with changing their foods,…
  • @anuwine I can attest that I believe in this whole heartily. After my surgeries, I didn’t feel whole anymore as a person so I tried to find things to fill those spaces. There was the time, I started running (mind you, I hate running) but I ran 7 days a week for 5 plus miles. The conversations that I had with myself while I…
  • I love all the positivity :) :) I think my surgeries gave me a do over for my life. To try to be a better person and to be grateful for life in general...the good, bad and even the ugly. I think (or rather I hope I do) think about things differently than I did before. I believe I make better choices (sometimes) now then…
  • I measure dry. Also, here’s a tip that I learned a couple of months ago (and this is going to sound like I should have known this already, but I didn’t think about it...I’ll admit it :D ) I used to measure frozen things from the freezer mostly shrimp and fish until the sweet lady at the seafood counter told me to rinse off…
  • Agreeing with the above. Make sure that you are eating enough. The body wants to survive so it will hang onto anything to do that. It’s so hard to hear eat more because we have been taught to eat less. When you get surgery, your body is different and will try to adapt. Also, weight comes easy at first, and that can be a…

  • Ahh! I would see the nurse (she would come to my house and do my lab work) on Thursday, I would get a 7-day supply. They were so big and I used our two veggie crispers in our fridge to store them. When a I started back on solids I made it as calorie laden as I could. Potatoes with butter and sour cream (even tho I’m…
  • @singingflutelady I was on TPN (and nothing by mouth) for a year. That’s the main reason why I started to do everything to get off of it. I ran 12 hours on/ off 7 days a week. My biggest bag calorie was 5,000 kcal. I hated it, but I needed it. Remember you may need to keep your options open...just for a bit so you can back…
  • Good Luck tomorrow @singingflutelady
  • Good morning! Challenge #1 Did “Can’t stop the Feeling”. Challenge #2 Full body workout (I ended up subscribing to his channel-loved this) Challenge #3 I failed my goal on the 1st day, I was trying to limit my sodium since I tend to run high. I have had 2-3 Alka Setlzers each day which puts me over my goal. Will try to do…
  • @jprohofsky I have done just juice for a couple of years but only because I couldn't eat solids due to medical issues (I can now eat some foods, although still restricted.) It may not be ideal, because you tend to get a lot of sugar (although natural) it's still high. When I juice I get very little protein which you need.…
  • Bless You! I feel so humbled by your post @singingflutelady ! I'm only on 3 medications. I get iron infusions and B-12 because I don't absorb, but WOW...truly humbled :) o:)
  • @JamesAztec I had a total gastrectomy due to an illness called Gastroparesis. I’ve had most of my digestive tract removed, appendix, gallbladder, colon and stomach.
  • I will log my hours soon, I’m just too tire
  • I am so happy for you... @lindanewlans37 . BUT, take it easy and don’t do more that you think you have to. Chill. Relax. Oh, and watch some bad TV while you’re recovery. We’ll be for you!
  • I know some people had surgery this week. I hope your doing well! And that recovery is not to painful. Stay rested! Happy Healing o:)
  • I hope your surgery went well! I’m sure the last thing you want to do is type out a message. But, I hope your doing well :)
  • :D :D :D @singingflutelady YOU SPEAK THE TRUTH!! it’s like when they ask you your “pain level” and they what you to pick a face. I’m like, “Really?” I mean who goes to Urgent Care or the Emergency Room that’s not in pain. Obviously, we’re in enough pain to come here. A hospital, I get, because you can feel fine NOW, but…
  • Unfortunately @singingflutelady it probably will it some other forum. People want a quick fix, goodness knows I have probably wanted the same in my lifetime. However, it won’t be good consequences. People want to get things done in the shortest amount of time. Again, I have wanted to feel better and have probably did the…
