  • If you have a Sams membership you can buy like four rotisserie chickens at a time and freeze them. They reheat so good and are only about five dollars a chicken already cooked! I use them for all kinds of things.
  • Wow! This is food for thought for me. I definitely have this to ponder over a little bit and figure out if I do moralize eating. I do end up feeling bad and guilty when I do eat more than My calories are slotted for. I feel like a failure when I do this. That’s definitely not healthy or helpful in getting past this. Thanks

  • Unfortunately this is why I know I need to quit doing it because I cheat myself. I either don’t log and say I will start over tomorrow or I do log and see how much I go over in calories and get frustrated to the point of having to “start over”. It’s just frustrating for me. I see a lot of good ideas here though that I am…

  • I make a big gallon of unsweetened tea! In the afternoons I get hungry and for some reason it helps to drink a couple of glasses along with lemon water too.
  • I think it's different with each person as to the reasoning for binge eating. For me the act of calorie counting keeps me in check and doesn't create binging. I eat at a loss of 1 pound a week because big deficits cause me to binge more. Stress causes me to binge as well and I might have an undiagnosed mild anxiety…
  • I am going on 42 years old and I am 5feet 7 and I have about 58 pounds to go to reach a reasonable weight. I have lost 20 pounds since last November. Slowly losing and it's frustrating sometimes but I noticed when I try to lose faster the more it backfires for me. I have my weight loss on 1 pound a week but I don't always…
  • I have been going back and forth on buying one for myself. I think I have decided not to get one especially for the reasons you mentioned. I don't want to get caught up on a Watch telling me how many steps I should be taking a day. I want to focus on how good my body feels when I exercise without focusing on a number. It…
  • Thank you for posting this! I noticed that about every 3 to 4 days I eat way over my calorie limit. I was feeling a little yuck about it this morning and this really helped me. Perhaps it will help the next time in about three or four days. I love how you put in there that food is false comfort. That is so true. I already…
  • I have the same issue. I have had it for many years. Sometimes I can skip breakfast and managed to eat my calories at lunch and dinner and have those nice extra calories after dinner. Sometimes this doesn't work because I actually wake up and want breakfast. Sometimes I will just go to my room early. I have a television in…
  • Thanks you guys! That clears it up! I will be weighing before and after:). I can't do without my husbands delicious grilled chicken.
  • Your not alone! I have been off track every night for 4 days! I do great right up till bed but after I put my son in bed! I go over by lots and haven't even been tracking and being honest with myself when I do go over. I am going to treat myself to something non food related today. Be kind to myself. I think at the end of…
  • Sounds like he is a little intense...like he has some self esteem kind of issues that you can't fix and seems to be needy. I would keep this one at arms length for sure. Seems like he could get controlling really fast.
  • So funny this was brought up..just yesterday I was thinking about this! I like Mac and cheese and haven't had it in a while and was trying to think of a less caloric way to make it yet it still taste yummy! I have pepper jack in my fridge. I usually melt it over scrambled eggs and it's good.
  • This is how I see it. Fit it into your goals if it will fit...if not then find something that's less calories that you still really enjoy without feeling dissatisfied. If you felt satisfied with what you were eating then you would care less what they were eating!
  • I have noticed the people that lose a ton of weight are the ones that never give up even if they had a bad day. They don't find excuses to continue to overconsume food. They take responsibility for what they ate knowing it may cause a gain and move on. So you learn from it and move on...but you can't allow a day to turn…
  • I would eat very light throughout the day. That way you will have a lot of calories saved up for the party and you can have almost anything you want....log the best you can... or don't log it's your choice.
  • I made homemade chocolate chip cookies from the back of the giradelli package. 150 calories for just one
  • Yay for salad!!! I haven't wanted another one in the last couple of days but I have a feeling I will be wanting it again soon. It's amazing how our bodies really work. If you listen to what you really want and you take off all the labels from foods you really get to realize that your body does take care of itself if you…
  • I know what helps me get through the bad days is reminding myself that whenever I do lose the weight I am still going to have bad days. Losing weight is not going to magically change that fact. Learning how to deal with the bad days now is important in maintaining the weight later.losing weight won't make everything…
  • I am trying to change my way of thinking too! Thanks for posting this.
  • It's going to take me a while to like salad again...and I may never like skinless boneless chicken breast again unless it's in a recipe that calls for lots of yummy stuff.
  • I can definitely see this as being true. As we always change all the time as far as our likes and dislikes and what we like to do.
  • That sounds like me. All of my life I have been trying to lose weight. Going on one diet or another. So if I factor in all of those years to get to where I am now than I could say at least 25 years for me as well.
  • Omg! I love carbs! I also have a PCOS and have tried low carb diets more than once and I lose and regain ....so emotionally draining. I can't make myself go on low carb again because of it. I think I am realizing that I am going to have to lose at a slower pace and still have everything that I like. Every time I try to…
  • This is all very eye opening. I have dealt with borderline high blood pressure it seems for most of my adult life...I figured because of my weight. I do eat eggs and greens and potatoes and all the other things that were mentioned. I guess at my next doctors appointment I will ask if they will look at my levels. If it is…
  • I have also had experience with this. As fit mom suggested it is a habit. The more times you do it the more it becomes a habit but you can break it. Once you realize it's just a habit and it can be broken And can lose its power over you.make sure you're getting enough satisfaction during the day too. If you're not truly…
  • I didn't even think about chicken and salmon! I have been so hungry for fish. Maybe that's why
  • Oh wow! According to that site...beet greens is where it's at.
  • Thanks! I will check that site out and I have kiwis in the house today! I will give those a try.
  • I freeze things! The other day I made some chocolate chip cookies for my son. I noticed I kept going in there and grabbing one so I immediately froze them. Out of sight out of mind works for me. I also have a basket that I put other treats in like chips and bread and even my sons little treats. That somehow keeps it out of…
