  • I love the Salmon Tetrazzini, and most of the smoothies. Sometimes I'll use a little egg protein powder to give these a protein boost. Egg protein can be a bit pricey, and I find using too much can affect the flavor of a recipe, but overall, I enjoy it.
  • Hello, all! Im in for this! Starting weight: 239 lb. Goal weight: 135 Current weight: 207 lb. Total weight lost: 32 lb. This week's successes:* Getting back on track after slacking off for two weeks * Having meals prepped and frozen for the beginning of the year * Creating a workout routine that balances cardio, strength,…
  • After my ex had all his teeth pulled, and then was denied replacements, we had to get creative. I found this book to be helpful: "The Non-Chew Cookbook" by J. Randy Wilson. ISBN 0-9616299-0-8. The publisher is Wilson Publishing in Glenwood Springs, CO. It originally sold for $23.95. Amazon has it listed used for around 9…
  • I love new friends! Add me as well. I'm approaching my 1 year anniversary on MFP. Took about a month off but I'm back to my regular routine starting today :)
  • My second ex-husband told me for a week when we first met I was beautiful. During the second week, his friends informed me he was blind. :|
  • I use a cast iron one, like this (an old Lodge brand- originally unseasoned): The "grill" side makes wonderful char marks: The flat side is perfect for making pancakes. There is always smoke: But the food is delicious :) I use coarse salt and chain mail to keep my cast iron healthy during cleaning. This particular piece…
  • Really? That's odd. My kiddos are schooled at home through a public charter program. The curriculum for Language Arts contains penmanship and cursive writing from 2nd grade on up. We have loads of fun learning the shapes, and my two younger ones think they're using a secret "language". I suppose I just learned there might…
  • According to my diary, it's called "Night Shift Break" :D
  • Hello all! Stephanie in Colorado here! I'd love to be a part of this since I'm sooo close. SW 239 GW 127 CW 207 I just wanted to point out that every pound I lost (and sometimes gained back :p ) since my starting weight in December of 2016 was after I joined the MyFitnessPal community. You guys rock and have been my…
  • Mini Babybel Gouda cheese
  • I was dreaming about jogging my regular 5 mile route. I approached the top of the first hill, and a building was in the way of the sidewalk. I wanted to continue jogging, and the door was open, so I went in. I heard the door close behind me. I looked around and noticed the interior of the structure was alot like the cargo…
  • I'm not a guy but I speak discrete mathematics propositional logic. I can build a system, install a full development stack, including design applications, and then write you a beautiful, compact web application that might woo you in 50 lines of code or less :D
  • A half handful of sunflower kernels or some baby lima beans both do wonders for curbing my appetite. 23 grams of sunflower kernels has 139 calories, less than 4 carbs and 0 sugar (Dakota Style brand). 40 grams of steamed baby lima beans (frozen, organic) contain around 50 calories, 10 carbs and about 1 gram of sugar.…
  • Gurl, slay!!! You look amazing, keep up the great work <3
  • If you'd like a gal who just spent the last 15 minutes attempting to swipe right on all these posts using the desktop app, AND spells out her emoji's, then look no further! I'm your lady... winkie-face; less-than-sign, three; heart-eyes
  • Hello, all! I finally found this thread again :D Me: 6 LNS: 7 I haven't been exactly accurate in my logging, either, so I'm not surprised I still weigh the same this week as I did last week :p We'll keep on truckin'
  • If you want to only use the MFP database, you'll have to find ways of manipulating your query so it gives you better results. I usually search for a food, such as your chicken thighs, by adding "USDA" at the end of the search term. That normally pulls up the USDA measurements (appropriate if you live in the US, not so much…
  • Is this from an ad? I don't get those, except for a partial Swiffer ad on my phone in the app (I use an app that allows one advert through when I have another app running). Firewalls take care of everything else via desktop. Maybe check your settings, clear your cache, and tweak your preferences in Google to start? It's…
  • Hey, there! We're the same height :) I used to share my weight loss goals, but I noticed those that were extremely jealous of any progress did their best to sabotage my efforts with similar statements. I really don't have time for their ignorance, so I don't bring it up anymore. I agree with other folks that only we,…
  • I'm in, as I've discovered this is my pitfall. Thanks so much for this <3
  • Hi there! I workout from home too  I'm a freelance developer, and I school 3 of my four children at home. I currently have a treadmill, a hybrid elliptical, a spin bike and a weight bench with a 30-lb bar and 80 lbs. worth of weights. We have some other smaller equipment, but it's not used as much as the others :D .…
  • The seasonal aisle at my Walgreen's has all Easter candy marked down to 25 cents. I walked the full length, and didn't scrape the entire aisle in my basket. In fact, I just picked up my prescription and left. Nothing seemed worth the calories.
  • Parenting isn't easy. I homeschool my four kiddos and work from home. I've got one with cognitive delays and one with ADHD. Communication, consistency, and structure are key. Kids are kids, regardless of any disorders or disabilities. They can smell the waffling parent a mile away, and will exploit it for their own…
  • Part of my cardio routine is much more exciting since my treadmill is on the blink. As soon as I have it above 3.5 mph, the circuit randomly trips the overheat warning stop. If I'm not careful, and don't see the numbers flicker erratically right before it comes to a dead stop, I risk bashing my face into the console. I…
  • Drinking straight ACV is not wise. It was part of my disordered eating routine for many years. I now have weak/missing enamel that I believe the ACV helped contribute to, among other factors. My bicuspid recently fractured, and I have an appointment to have it extracted (after almost 6 months wait). The pain was (and is)…
  • Hey, there! I think a lot of folks have covered the points about getting a food scale and weighing accurately very well. TBH, I used to think that advice was nuts, but I swear by it, even when building protein shakes. I store the different shakes as meals so if I decide to use them again, I can easily edit the gram weight…
  • I like 'em. <3
  • That's interesting! I don't own a Fitbit, but I do use a Polar watch with a chest strap HRM. I have never tried to lose weight in a healthy fashion before, so I'm still learning. I've noticed that if I keep my calorie deficit consistently between 500-900 calories/day, I do pretty well in losing about 2 lbs./week, barring…
  • I just turned 40 and I've never tried to lose weight in a healthy fashion. I've always been obese because I thought I couldn't lose weight "normally". To me, any progress is good progress. I've been using this app for 103 days, and I have lost 21 lbs. My goal is to lose 100 lbs. I've found all of my MFP friends have been…
