  • Thank you! Hearing this definitely encourages me to work on my consistency. I'm wondering of that's my missing link since I tend to bounce around from one thing to another, maybe my body can't keep up so I stay the same, even gain. I had to stop counting calories for a while for my own mental health, and despite being…
  • Ah! That's great! I love oatmeal but feel guilty since I could be eating a higher protein option. And that is a good idea for backpacking.
  • Awesome tips! Thank you. A question about whey, other than smoothies, how can I incorporate it into my food? I like quinoa too, I add it to yogurt. Winco has good prices too, if you've got one in your area.
  • Thanks for the tips! I had a very gluttonous weekend. I'm finding I lose all self control when I stop tracking. But I've got a fridge full of veggies to start over. I'm really sick of being at this weight. I'm ready to lose this baggage!
  • Stupid phone. That's was supposed to say support
  • Good for you! That balance is difficult for most everyone. I'm still working on that as well. Feel free to add me as a friend for up port!
  • I am technically training for a 5k. I need to re up my effort with that. Leooftheyear: I've been tracking fairly consistently for well over a year. Had a break for a while, gained weight, panicked and cracked down after holidays, to the point of eating 1400 cals. That was only for a few weeks until I found this group. I'm…
  • Feel feel free to add me. I'm still new too, but always appreciate the friends!
  • Trust me I know. I am scared for her too. But there is no talking sense into her at the moment, and she doesn't want to hear this from me anyway. Like I said, when the wedding is over maybe she'll listen to reason... or just fall back into her old patterns which is more likely.
  • I am struggling to get through to my sister. She told me that at 700 calories for the day at 9 pm, she wasn't hungry for anything more! I'm appalled. There's nothing that I can tell her because she's got a bit to lose before her wedding in august so she needs immediate results. I hope I can talk some sense into her after…
  • Alright. I'm listening lol. I upped my calories again. I will do the metabolism reset like a good girl. I was trying to shortcut and I know that's not going to help. Thank you everyone! I am really tired of dieting and I want to enjoy food, not restrict myself!
  • Hmm. I guess I don't really understand the reset concept. And I am worried about going that high with my calories. Today I gave up tracking halfway through and just ate to feel full. I mostly ate good things with lots of protein. I also think my scale may be broken. It's said 154.4 lbs for the last 3 weeks, even with a…
  • I think I'm doing the reset, I'm not really sure. I'm 29, weigh 154, 5'2", I work out at least 3 times a week for an hour plus. I also walk about 2 miles a day. Maybe some one would be willing to check and see if I'm on track. I'm eating around 1800 cals a day, but its usually more than that.
  • So the past couple of days I have decided to focus on upping my protein. I told myself to not focus on strictly calories. To my surprise, the first day I did this, not only did I feel satisfied, but I also hit all of my macro and micro nutrients! I did not feel the need to binge eat, and I was content. Today I allowed…
  • I also need to remember that my ultimate goal is to have a healthier relationship with food (and myself), so I don't feel the need to binge when I'm presented with sweets and treats!
  • Babylon: thank you for that. It seems like nothing will satisfy this hunger. I am also going to focus on more protein, and not strictly calories. I need something new to focus on! This will probably help with hunger too. I actually did Pre log some of my meals for today! I've done it before and it has helped. Thanks for…
  • Way to go on the loss! I'm just starting out and hearing that is reassuring. I have the same concerns when it comes to other dieters. I see how strict they are and I feel I should do the same!
  • *plus eating a full breakfast and lunch earlier.
  • That's great! I'm guilty of the over indulging at night. Regardless of what I ate earlier. Second day of increasing my calories and I'm feeling out of control. I've eaten tortilla chips, chocolate chips, and a cupcake. And still hungry. I will admit it's probably close to TOM. But I'm frustrated about my lack of control.
  • That's comforting thank you! Also, i just started this today and I tried to gradually increase my calories to 1650, but ended up going to nearly 2000. Should I try to maintain a gradual increase, or just jump up to the higher calorie count? Female 29, 62 inches, 154.4 lbs work out 3-5 hrs per week
  • I just had this problem today! I was allowing myself to eat more, and I sure did! Mostly healthy food but quite a few chips.
  • By under reporting, I mean showing a lower calorie count than actually consumed.
  • Good info! Thanks.
  • So inspiring to see all the weight loss from everyone! I'm hoping my plateau ends soon!! I don't think I'll actually make my goal weight at this rate. • Thanks guys! I'm staying the course. I know it's slow, I'm just super impatient!
  • I like that idea too! My February goal is to only weigh myself once per week. This will be hard for me because I have been obsessed with weighing myself every day.
  • The reports are great to look at. My issue with the sugar and carbs is that they don't take into account natural sugars like fruit. Fruit is excellent for you, but it just shows up as carbs and sugars on MFP. I'm far more concerned with sugars added or refined sugar. Don't panic if it's high, I always look back at what I…

  • So I have no idea what my 5k would be, but I did a 4.2 mile run in 55 min the other day WITH hills! I figure if I train for 4 miles, a 5k will feel like nothing!
