Thanks a bunch. I think I just might take a break and go on maintenance for a while.

Thanks for all the great responses and encouragement

I realize that is to aggressive but I have it set that way to lose as much as possible. I was dropping 1 to 1 1/2 lbs a week. I am getting really close to my goal and the weight is getting harder to lose. My body is much more toned but still have fat to lose.
-
Right now to lose 2 lbs a week it is 1500 calories. To maintain it jumps all the way up to 2300 calories

My total weight loss has been good. I have lost 35 pounds and have had the normal kinda down and up a little.

They are the same brand and style. I also found that men's pant size is pretty standard at least for me. A 38 would always fit. Now 36 fits.

Try a product that I use a lot. It's called Stur. It's a zero calorie water flavoring that is all natural and Stevia based. I love it and use it daily.

It is better in my opinion ( which is what has worked for me ) to have a days rest in between workouts. I do cardio and weights on the same day so a day in between gives me time to recover. I know people who lift 5 or 6 days a week so it is possible to do them back to back. But, don't jump in the deep end right off the…

Very true.

Depends on the intensity of the soreness. Perfectly normal to be a little sore after a new workout or long hike etc. Just listen to your body and start working out again when you can and at an intensity level that doesn't stress those muscle too far.

I don't handle the heat well. I'm fortunate enough to have an indoor track at my gym so that's where I do most of my runs.

That's funny you mention chickens. I raise them as well as a few of my friends do. One in particular gives their chickens everything! I always just stick to veggies for them. I would think that meat is probably not good for them, buy hey, what do I know.

No need to worry, same thing happened to me. It lasted almost a month. Just keep working hard and don't get discouraged. I started dropping weight like I was before.

Sounds like you should just get rid of the boredom problem. Find a hobby or read a book. Find something to occupy your mind.

Loved that cartoon since I was a kid!

I have only been running for about 4-5 months. I do intervals of running for 1 minute and a half and then slow down to a walk for 1 and a half minutes. I end up doing 2.75 miles in thirty minutes and my goal for right now is trying to get to 3 miles in thirty minutes.

Thanks, I took today off and have pretty much done nothing. Going to go back out tomorrow and just go for a moderate walk instead of a run. Maybe just do some weight training instead of running and lifting the same day.
-
So how do you you train to be a better runner?

Thanks for the advice. Pretty sure that I have pushed too much in the cardio department. I always try to beat my previous run time and for the last 2 workouts really pushed hard. Think I'll take a couple days rest and recover then start back at a slightly slower pace.

The ones I have tried don't work for me. They never gave accurate HR and the kicker is that counted walking distance while I was on my riding mower! LOL. I don't even bother with one anymore.

You should focus more on healing first. Just eat at maintenance for awhile. Besides there is no "quick" way to lose it. Calorie deficit is the way. But like I said you should focus on healing first and not worry about gaining a pound or two.

You shouldn't worry so much about the plateau you are on. It is currently happening to me as well. I haven't lost a single pound in a month but I keep exercising and measuring my intake. It will start to go down again soon enough. I'm not depressed about it but I am annoyed about it. But try to focus on the positives. Like…

Measure and weigh it all. I haven't changed batteries in a long time.
