Good insight on the metabolic rate thing.

I used to use run keeper because I like their interface, but started using Strava this year. So I am just now realizing that I was thinking all last summer that I was burning twice as much calories as I probably am. Which was frustrating at first, but I am adjusting. I have a road bike and mainly ride paved trails between…

You all can add me as well.

Eating has always been my problem as well. I'm not always even hungry, I just love to eat and eat large portions. I do pretty good with exercise, I watch my calories now, but have too many cheat days. So, I'm kind of stalled out. I started trying to take fitness more seriously, because I turned 40 this year and my youngest…

Thanks for the advice. I've noticed a definite decrease in endurance on the stationary bike the last several weeks. it's cold here so I haven't been riding outside. My cardio isn't as good especially the first several minutes and my legs feel more cramped and gassed.
-
Thanks. Hope it goes well for you. I am learning that there is definitely more to it than just cutting carbs. I will look more into that.
-
Thanks. I was doing well counting calories, then kind of slacked off. of course, that's when I stalled out. was maintaining, but not losing weight. I'm sure some muscle gain accounts for it as well, but I definitely need to get back to recording and tracking my calories.

Maybe try to cut back slowly or try some of the sparkling water stuff out there. you still get that carbonation but without the caffeine and sugar.
-
You sort of have to be selfish within reason to make sure you take the time out to exercise. I try to help my wife out more with chores or the kids to make up for the time spent cycling or weights. I usually only do every other day to be fair.
-
Maybe change up the exercise routine.

I seem to be kind of stuck too. I have been slacking on the calorie count. Still watching what I eat, but not as closely. Get a decent amount of exercise, so I'm maintaining, but not losing like I want to.

lol. pitchfork and snow shovel.

you serious?

My big gripe with Facebook is how hateful people's comments get, whether it's politics or news about a band or whatever, people talk so much crap. But you're right, you get to know people on here and it would be cool to check out their pics and stuff like that.

I had a cool background pic for MySpace and a Playlist widget. Links to charities I support, etc.
-
I haven't really gotten into Instagram. My wife uses it. MFP could use better profile options and stuff like that. Pictures, etc.

you all can feel free to add me as well. I just finished my degree in March and now have a little more time to lose that 50 lbs I need to. I'm down almost 20 so far. With a job and family it's tough, but I'm not looking back this time.
-
You can add me if you'd like. I have about 50 to lose as well. down nearly 20.

I run better on a treadmill as far as pace goes. when I run outside I end up going too fast and burning out.
-
I am not too good at it either. knees and lower back hurts. Maybe it will be better if I lose more weight. I really enjoy cycling and do it several times a week. Burn lots of calories.
-
I use runkeeper. I heard Strata is good, but haven't tried it out yet.

I like it better when there are two more equal sides of the house rather than now where everyone feels like they have to vote with one group to pick people off.
-
I do. I don't know why everyone does whatever Paul says. Do they want to lose?

McDonald's fries?

get back at it tomorrow. I'm very impulsive and love to eat. so far I've been doing good. it's motivation for me to exercise more, because I can eat those calories, or chest a little. don't let a day of defeat discourage you from staying on the path. you can do it!

Hope you get back to your fighting weight! Good Luck on the upside of this journey!
