Growing up in my southern American home, we did not eat salad with our meals. Nearly never, actually. When I met my husband in junior high, his Italian-American family always ate salad. So, all these years later, we have a salad prob 3-4x a week with our food or just by itself

2020 is year 3 eating a plant based diet. I’ve never felt better, honestly. Down 90lbs
-
I lost 90lbs last year and am really trying to push myself the next 3 months to drop the last 10 and then tone up! Feel free to add me to help stay accountable!! :)
-
So sorry for your loss. Having been with my boyfriend for 14 years, I couldn’t even imagine him

Feel free to add me!

I'm a carbaholic! No keto for me! Whole food plant based! I consume about 900 grams of carbs a day, eat around 2200 calories a day. I started in January of this year and i'm down 83 pounds already.
-
Plant based vegan over here. Down 83lbs since January of this year. looking for friends to help motivate to either eat more veggies, or get out there and exercise.
-
Wow! I would definitely do some research on the ingredients and see if you can pin point what could have made you not feel well!
-
Thank you! Unfortunately, those meat free prepackaged meals are processed. They contain too much oil for my liking but from time to time I enjoy a beyond beef burger from the local vegan restaurant. [edited by MFP mods]

Hey there! 9 months plant based here and 75lbs down. You don’t need more than 10% protein intake a day. It’s a myth that we need increased protein intake, it’s a way for the meat and dairy industry to make more $$. Follow John McDougalls advice. He is like jesus in my home. [Edited by MFP Staff]

We eat from our garden. Can’t beat that. Enjoy your animal flesh

I am whole food plant based. I do not consume dairy, meat, sugar, processed foods, saturated fats, oils, or caffeine. I have been on this WOE for 3 months and have lost 25lbs and have gained muscle. It’s called the McDougall lifestyle but I’m sure you’ll all quickly scream how dangerous or awful it is.

There's everything wrong with vegetable oils...... There's as much calories in a teaspoon of oil as there is in 2lbs of broccoli. Use water in place of oils. Remember - you wear the fat you eat.
-
Increase FIBER - You don't need to increase protein. You only need about 65grams a day. Protein has been shown to turn on cancer cells. I don't know why people don't open their eyes to the truth about protein!

feel free to add me

Eat less protein.. about 50 grams a day. as a plant based eater, this is easy to achieve.

Please look into reading the following books, as they touch what you are asking in depth: The China Study - Dr Thomas Campbell Proteinaholic - Dr Garth Davis

Protein causes you to hold onto fat. How much protein are you consuming a day? You don't need over 60 grams a day.
-
I follow a whole food plant based diet and consume about 200-230grams of carbs a day
-
yes but comparing it to say Hershey's chocolate chips its very different nutritional wise
-
Feel free to add me. I am on month 3 of eating whole food plant based 'diet' (its a lifestyle now) yes it's different from being a vegan but similiar aspects I eat the fruits and vegetables that come from my garden in my own backyard I post pictures often and am always looking to inspire others to go WFPB! I'm down 20lbs…

Whole foods do not mean chocolate muffins. A whole food are the grains that went into the muffin. Cocoa is the more 'wholier' form of chocolate. And just because it was purchased from Whole Foods doesn't mean its healthier! lol Even Flax muffins say each muffin contains 2 servings. It's very important to read labels

You can make buffalo wings out of them :) put them in oven for about 35-45 min to crisp up then toss in a bowl of hot sauce and tada- you have 'wings'
-
That phrase is used in the eating disorder community.. It has been for 15 years. "Nothing tastes as good as healthy feels" has a better ring to it
-
Feel free to add me, I've lost 20lbs in 6 weeks on a whole food plant based diet/lifestyle and still have about 30 more to lose!
-
