I went keto and it helped me fight the addiction. Took a bit of will power but my cravings are no where near what they used to be to the point I may go several days without sweets.

Patience is the key here. You don’t have much to lose so I’d recommend setting your goal to 1/2 a lb a week. Slow and steady wins the day here. If you do it too quickly it will likely be gained back. This time next year you could be at your target weight and have set the lifestyle habits to maintain it there.

I eat two meals a day normally fatty red meat like ground beef or ribeye and a green leafy veg with cheese and olive oil or coconut oil to cook the meat in. Or I’ll do skin on chicken thighs with the same thing. Eggs are a great addition to boost fat intake. Avocados are also a staple in my diet now.

More fiber will help but if I’m not mistaken it’s caused by the change in gut bacteria from the dietary change. Try increasing your dietary fiber and taking a probiotic. Mine only lasted a few days with that.

Several different views from what I’ve seen so far. Some think that high protein triggers gluconeogenesis and can kick you out of ketosis. Some believe that the glucose caused by too much protein is negligible. My view is that we want protein to spare muscle loss but our main fuel source should be fat. Excess protein can…

What I have learned so far on keto. 1. Log your food before making it to check carb and fat ratios of each meal. This will help you understand what you should be consuming. 2. Make sure you increase your water and electrolytes to stave off the “keto flu”. The symptoms are related to the water you are going to stop…

Yea once the excess water you have been holding is gone it will slow down to a normal rate. I lost about 15-20 the first few weeks then it dropped to about 1-2 a week.

Why the major aversion to keto on this site. I’m living that life style and I know others that have been on it long term and they are great.

I’m on it. I love it. Going on 7-8 weeks. It’s easy for me to maintain. It’s effectively ended my struggle with sweet cravings and food addiction. But like anything it’s not for everyone. Just make sure to really up your electrolytes the first week while you purge glucose from your system. Powerade Zero, chicken and bone…

If it’s the keto flu that stops you then the trick for me was electrolytes.

7 weeks in and down 26 lbs. feeling better than ever.

Look into the hormonal effects of a low carb diet. My whole life I’ve struggled with constant hunger. Food was ALWAYS on my mind. I started a keto diet about 7 weeks ago and that problem is gone. The higher fat content has allowed me to eat less and not have hunger until it’s actually time to eat again. I used to eat…

I consume less than 35g a day lost a lot the first month and now it’s a stead 1-2 lbs a week. I’ve gone as low as 10 gm a day. But if your doing a low carb or keto diet just keep them under 50 total carbs a day. Low carb isn’t for everyone so you just need to expierement with it. But do your research on what you need to…

Op if you have questions you can search YouTube for Jason wittrock, Thomas DeLauer, and Mark Sisson. They explain the science behind keto and what happens in your body on a regular western diet. There is a lot of info out there and a lot of it in contradictory, as you can tell. See what makes sense to you and make an…

If that’s your take and it works for you then awesome. But hormones and metabolic rate also play a huge variable. And it’s not always easy to know how many calories you are burning by heart rate alone. For example when some people lose a certain amount of weight their body fights back by becoming more effiecnet and…

Would your truck support an air fryer being plugged in?

You have to try it and see if it’s for you. There is a lot more to weight lose than calories in vs calories out. Not everyone can do this diet but I’ve been on it strictly for 6 weeks and I’m down 25 lbs. most of that is water weight but the quick initial drop boost confidence and helps me feel better. The greatest benefit…

If I’m not mistaken you have to be careful to not over do protein. It causes gluconeogenesis and will spike insulin and be stored as fat.

It’s amazing to me how many reject the idea of a low carb diet as healthy when everyone’s bodies react so positively to it (after the detox period). More energy, cleared skin, shinier hair, no hunger, regulated cycles for women, lower blood pressure, controlled/cured diabetes, and improves blood work. The body knows what…

That’s the keto flu. The first time I tried keto I thought I was going to die and had to stop. Then I decided to try a second time after researching more and under the guidance of a friend that has been on it long term. The worst of it is not cause by lack of carbs but by the dehydration that follows the kidneys removing…
