  • I did the phen/phen thing. Lost 30 lbs quickly but now I have heart valve problems. That was FDA and dr approved. I gained it all back and then some. It has taken me quite a while and some ups and downs but finally loosing just by diet and exercise. It is the healthiest way to do it. It may take longer but worth it. If…
  • My daughter was 12 and competing gymnastics so she always felt she was fat. I had her pediatrician talk to her. He pulled in a pediatric gastro dr and had her talk, show pictures and explain what happens if the calories are not eaten while growing. I think the fact that she was a woman along helped. If she already has an…
  • Gold's Gym $22 a month for everything. At the time there was no sign up fee. I like the fact I can go anywhere in the US with my membership and not worry about it.
  • Thanks for the information. I am a stress eater and struggle with it constantly.
  • Yes, I guess I didn't put this in quite the right words. I have a diet given to me by the dietician that keeps me at 150 carbs. I most often stay below. In order to keep blood sugars from roller coastering I must maintain a healthy level of carbs/sugars. The discussion I had with particular co-worker was about the carbs in…
  • I would log it. It will probably come off but then you will have more weight loss!
  • I don't eat after 8 unless I'm hungry and have not reached my calories. Reason for this at least for me is the digestive process. I sleep better and my blood sugars are lower in the mornings. I agree with the others about no cut off time. It can be a preference or one your dietician or doctor recommend.
  • Wow, almost seems like I wrote this..... I have been in the same situation for 26 years. It has never been physical only emotional. Until about 3 years ago I would just sit back and take it now I don't. I am a stronger person for it. I wish I had gotten out a long time ago now that I see the effect that it has had on my…
  • I am with you. 3 weeks with no weight loss. I weigh in tomorrow. It is tough but you have to keep working hard. If you log your food and work-outs, it will fall into place. At least that is what they keep telling me. Good luck!
  • When I was diagnosed with diabetes, my physician immediately scheduled me an appointment with a diabetic clinic and there dietician. She told me what carbs to eat and when. I received all kinds of materials and information. I would suggest you do the same. Really this web site doesn't cater to diabetics. I wish we could…
  • I don't really focus on time, more distance. I started like you a little at a time. I started with 1 mile and didn't care if it took 18 or 30 minutes. I am now up to 3 miles most days. Some days are slower than others. I have a couple different paths so it changes. As long as you are doing something everyday it helps. I…
  • Checking to see if banner works.
  • I could have posted this. I always say if I stretch I can reach 5'0. There are so many machines and such that don't fit our bodies. I hate it. I also hate when I shop in the petites and here "fat people are not petite" I have always battled my weight because a pound gained looks like 2. My size is smaller in pants but I…
  • Thanks for the input and I agree with you. I did find out that my insurance will pay for an 8 week class that includes a dietician, counselor and support group. I am thinking about taking advantage of it.
  • I had sandals that I could not wear because they were too tight. This summer I pulled them out before sending to charity. I have now worn them all summer long! I also had to get my rings resized. That I know is common but it still made me feel good.
  • Don't go under 1200 calories. I do on occasion but it is only by hundred or less. Take into account your excersize calories. Each fruit and vegatables for the extra calories. No processed sugars. Good luck!
  • Thanks for the information. My dietician has me at 150 carbs a day. Most days I am around 120/130. I started doing meats and vegetables with fewer carbs but then my calorie intake increased. I am just trying to figure it all out.
  • If you are not eating enough calories, your body can go into starvation mode. This will keep you from losing because it stores the fats and calories. I didn't understand all of this and I thought if I excersized and stayed way under in calories, I couldn't help but lose weight. I didn't. After doing some researcha and…
  • I am diabetic so I follow the American Diabetes diet. I do however have a friend that is not and that is the diet her physician recommended for her. Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Calorie Counter
  • Mine is te first thing to come off when I get home and last thing I put on before I leave for work. I hate them and I have big boobs. They can sag all they want but at this point I figure gravity will do more than an underwire bra that eventually will poke me. It's all about comfor.
  • I tried the Julien Michaels clense. It was a waste of 15 bucks. Nothing happened. In fact, I felt more bloated and heavy then before I started. I usually don't buyt this kind of stuff but thought mayne it was a good way to get started.
  • :flowerforyou: Great Job! Keep up the good work. It always helps with motivation when people see the change.
