Wow, I had no idea it was “woo” to say I like the taste of Keto coffee. I’m not even a Keto advocate - my nutritionist suggested I try it because I have difficult time eating breakfast but like exercising in the morning. Some of you people are so ridiculous.

I keep mine in the fridge. I don’t see any downside to doing so, and hey, maybe it helps.

Yup, if you're making homemade broth, you are never going to get a completely accurate number. For example, with vegetable broth, you're going to strain off the broth and throw out the solid vegetables you've used. Some of the calories will be left in your stock, and some won't be. There is no way for any calculator online…

I like it, and hate regular coffee. To each her own.

^ This. Unless I want my dining out to be Applebee’s for the rest of my life, I’m kidding myself by logging those meals. Oh, I can put something in for “roasted half chicken with spaetzle and crunchy salad” or a chocolate pot de crepe with confit lemon - but I am kidding myself, hardcore, if I think it’s any better than…

My “cheat days” mean going out to a nice restaurant where it would be nigh on impossible to log them accurately, so I don’t bother.

I think that in addition to her doctor, OP should consider seeing a therapist who specializes in eating disorders and body dysmorphia.

Flavored teas. I like Forever Nuts, Carrot Cupcake (no caffeine), and Coco Chai Roobios from David’s Teas. Somehow sipping something hot and lightly sweet really helps me, and it’s a nice end of day ritual.

Here’s another study. https://www.jci.org/articles/view/37385

No joke. And fructose has a different absorption rate than glucose. You ignored that.

Funny thing - medical studies don’t agree with you. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9881888/

“Sugar is sugar” is total bull. Ask a diabetic or a doctor who researches insulin response. It’s well documented and has been uncontroversial for decades. Whether that difference matters for weight loss is a different question.

No, of course not. It is probably dangerous to lose 114 pounds in a year, though, particularly if you weigh under 200. ;)

There are lots of threads on this! It’s pretty popular.

Count it all. If you have a lot of extra left in the pan, use less oil or a cooking spray. It’s all but impossible to accurate calculate what does and doesn’t get absorbed by your food. It depends on way too many factors. Even if you drain off the pan and measure, what’s left in there is not going to be purely fat, and…

I This. Planning meals and shopping takes a couple of hours a week, and some people don’t have the time. Others have the time but value it as worth more than the additional cost of letting someone else do it for them. So effing what. There’s no award for your super special virtue either way.

We have a toxic association in our culture that tells us that when a woman is “beautiful” she is “small” and “prey.” To get past your anxiety, stop thinking that your goal is to lose weight and be prettier. Make your goal to be stronger and more athletic - to do 100 push ups, to run a certain race, etc. Don’t measure your…

If you have a relatively small band and a large bust, the Lululemon Enlite bra is AWESOME. I tried to convince myself I didn't love it, because it's so expensive, but it is by far and away my favorite sport bra (I'm 34F and sister size with a 36E).

Campbell's soups give nutrition data for only the condensed soup itself. That's what the label says. They probably give the data that way because people like to make it with milk or with more or less water.

Anybody who eats that little and exercises that much will be extremely hungry - your body is simply having a normal, healthy response to how you're hurting it. That's a good thing. Be happy about it, and as everybody else has said, tell your doctors/therapists about it and EAT MORE.

Yet another vote for Optimum Gold Standard.

I’m not expert, but I could not do those macros. I have personally found that focusing on eating protein is the key to losing steadily without feeling like I’m starving myself. I use the approach they recommend to some bariatric patients to help them get enough nutrition while eating low calories: eat your protein first.…

Seeing someone at my gym who is notably overweight inspires me to work harder. I think, “Look how they’re challenging themselves! Why aren’t you? Get your lazy kitten in gear, you lazy person!”

Book yourself a beach vacation. That would motivate me!

Women with PCOS most often suffer from insulin resistance. If you do, be careful about eating high glycemic foods such as processed carbs. Your doctor should be able to help you with what to do, especially if you are pre-diabetic and a candidate for medication.

I had almost the same amount of weight to lose when I started, and I have always hated exercise. I also have venous problems that had gotten much worse as I gained weight and made exercise painful and hard. But I wanted to be healthy, so I started walking to try to get in 10,000 steps every day. It was simple, and I could…

I don't have an ultimate goal weight, because weight is not my goal. I am just going to keep improving my habits and losing weight as long as it's healthy for me to do so.
-
Might or might not, then! That's interesting. I neither follow a keto diet nor exercise as part of my weight loss goals, so I have no particular position to stake or defend. Either way, it's engaging with her actual situation, giving her new information, and not just dismissing her. I frankly don't have an answer for her…

What the OP actually said is that RECENTLY she tried a general 1500 calorie diet and cardio (which had worked for her in the past), but didn't get the results she liked, so she RECENTLY switched to a keto-specific 1500 calorie diet and weight training and got better results. She specifically says that she's eating the same…

I weigh myself every day and record in MFP when I see a loss. This system gives me the benefit of lots of data, which I would prefer to have even if it shows I'm gaining weight, and it also reinforces that the fluctuations I see day to day aren't "real" because they don't get recorded.
