HORRENDOUS Keto bulletproof coffee

So for years I've known about this bulletproof coffee business but never dared to try it. After a few (million) videos, articles and blogs of everyone raving about not only the benefits but how DELICIOUS it is I got super excited.
So I have the blender I have the coffee the coconut oil and the butter. I follow the spoonful of this and that.
IT WAS SO DISGUSTING I had to hold back not to vomit and tried so hard to like it. I tried little sips big sips but no...
How do u guys do it that swear by it and love it? I really don't wanna buy the coffee and ingredients from the bulletproof coffee franchise

I'm sure there are plenty of things that you like that make others queazy at the thought of even being in the same room with.
Not sure where you stand on hazelnut, but a lot of people love the stuff. Personally, the smell alone makes me want to blow chunks. Different strokes for different folks.
The keto coffee itself kept me from eating between meals. It did a great job with that. I'm assuming from your picture that you're not trying to take off weight. So why drink it at all? If you're trying to add a few pounds there are all kinds of other ways to get more calories in your diet.3 -
There's no compelling benefit to bulletproof coffee, so you don't need to drink it if you don't like it. Just chalk it up to yet another fad you don't need in your life.
Maybe you need to lay off the videos too, you seem to be getting a lot of bad advice that way.17 -
I like it, and hate regular coffee.
To each her own.5 -

^^This. People like different things. If you're used to drinking your coffee sweet, unsweetened coffee of any kind (keto or not) is probably not going to taste good to you.
I used to drink my coffee unsweetened, but with a small amount of milk, cream, or unsweetened nondairy (nut/soy etc.) milk. These days, I mostly drink it black, and only add milk to cover up "bad" coffee (if I buy it away from the house) -- too weak, over-roasted, etc. I can't stand sweetened coffee. It tastes vile to me. I'd rather have salt in my coffee.
I've never tried bulletproof coffee because I expect I wouldn't like it for the same reason I don't like the non-dairy powdered or liquid "creamers" that contain vegetable oils -- for some reason, they don't fully mix into the coffee, and you're left with this (to me) unappetizing "oil slick" on the surface of your coffee. Really, the only oil I want in my coffee is the oil from the coffee beans.
I've given up trying to figure out how people can stand sweetened coffee or oil floating on top of their coffee, and you probably should do the same about bulletproof coffee. It's not for you, and there's no accounting for differences in taste (well, actually, sometimes there is a genetic difference that seems to explain some taste preferences, like cilantro, or bitter flavors, but other than satisfying scientific curiosity, that doesn't really get you anywhere).0 -
I tasted it once. I eat low fat so I thought it tasted good. Maybe I should go keto.3

Sounds disgusting to me, but I don't know like coffee anyhow.1
-
I got one pre-made at Whole Foods. Not a fan, and it was 220 cals1
-
There's no role to say you need to drink it. If you don't like it, don't drink it, easy. I think it sounds foul.1

Wow, I had no idea it was “woo” to say I like the taste of Keto coffee. I’m not even a Keto advocate - my nutritionist suggested I try it because I have difficult time eating breakfast but like exercising in the morning.
Some of you people are so ridiculous.13 -
Just watched a programme busting food myths, one was this coffee said it came in at 500 calories. That put me off straight away2

If I'm going to drink my calories they'll be alcoholic.17

I think there are some people who think "woo" is a good thing, like "woo-hoo!" It would be better if the button said "disagree."10 -
Yeah, I get mysterious woos all the time. Maybe it's someone who misread the post or actually thinks it's woo-like, but I think it makes more sense to (1) realize it happens to everyone so is not some "MFP vs. me" thing, and (2) maybe assume someone thought it was a positive or meant to hit like (or hug, LOL).3

it's black coffee- oil and butter.
I'm not sure what you're expecting- if you took 2 tablespoons of butter- and 2 tablespoons of oil- well- there you go.
It serves a purpose to some people. There is no magic secrete here- it's high fat coffee. For me it's too much of a pain in the *kitten* to make- I need to get my blender out- and then deal with the steam combustion issue- and it's a mediocre beverage when you actually like plain black coffee. So- "can't be arsed" really- but there isn't anything intrinsically wrong with it.6 -
I'm keto and I actually like the bulletproof coffee (more so with MCT oil than coconut because I'm not nuts about tasting coconut). I think it tastes good at any rate but it's more calories than I usually want for breakfast and I'm lazy. So I just make coffee with a splash of heavy cream in the mornings. Most people who drink it do so because they like it and/or it keeps them full or gives them energy. If you aren't seeing any positives to it then I wouldn't give it another thought.3
-
The few times I've had bulletproof coffee it has kept me full. However I cut it out after I realized the coffee was adding too many calories to my day. (although it kept me full I dont normally eat breakfast so I was adding an extra 200-300 calories where it was 0 before.3
-
If you want to add fat to your coffee try heavy cream or half and half. I have no idea where these ideas like butter or coconut oil in coffee came from. That does not sound tasty to me, and is not in any way more healthy. It's all mostly saturated fat.4

Wow some comments on here and my other post about cheese and keto were helpful, nice and interesting different opinions. Others are plainly executed with attitude trying to declare one dumb. Don't think this MFP community is for me geez. And all this "woo" button none sense. I'm better off just using the app for my calories and macros and exclude the social. maybe this should be expected but not enjoying the start of this mfp community bizniz6

MFP has attitude and little tact, but you really can learn quite a bit from these boards. Don't take the woo's to heart. We have all said something we thought to be true and been wooed. If you look it up or ask about why you have been wooed you may learn something new that can help you with your health goals.3 -

What is really ridiculous is this woo button. There are a lot of people who think it means woohoo and think it's a positive thing. There are other people who use it as a negative thing. I really think it would be much better and much more mature if that button were just "disagree" and the hug button went back to being awesome.7 -
Quite simply, if you don't like bulletproof coffee, don't drink it. Taste is a personal thing, obviously. If you are deadset on adding a bunch of fat to your coffee for some reason (your post doesn't say why, I assume you do keto or some form of LCHF), heavy cream should do the trick. Bulletproof coffee isn't a magic elixir that cures cancer or something. Don't force yourself to eat or drink something you don't like because some people on the interest convinced you that you should. Eventually it won't be sustainable and you'll end up back at square one.4

Unfortunately I think a big culprit is the "woo" button itself meaning different things to different people. It seems that perhaps "dislike" or some variant would be a better button to express negative feelings toward a post, as some people clearly use it as meaning "woohoo!"0 -

I specifically don't use that button- because I'm not clear of the intent- not sure if "woo" as in bro-science- or
WOO- like WOOT WOOT.0 -

It's O.o woo. Yeah, that's the way MFP describes it too lol.0 -

Yes but it's very obvious in a lot of users don't understand that. Because people hit the woo button when you would think they're probably saying woohoo1 -
I never thought the idea of butter and oil in coffee sounded great and I've never had the urge to try keto so I'm happy with my choices. I don't find it strange that some like it because some people just love fat but that's not me, at least not in this form that is.1
-
Because I like butter, and because I like coffee, it sounds intriguing to me. But it also, at the same time sounds repulsive and disgusting. So I'm not going to try to mix the two. Just because I like two different things does not mean they should be mixed together LOL0
