  • To each his own - For me potatoes done the right way are a welcome member of a balanced diet.
  • When I got stuck on a plateau for 3 weeks or more having cheat meal would often, but not always, result in finally seeing a loss about 3 to 5 days after said cheat meal.
  • Small baked potato with a bit of light butter or light sour cream Butternut squash roasted with a tiny sprinkle of brown sugar. Spaghetti squash (I've always wanted to try it but never have) Sliced strawberries and/or pear slices with balsamic vinaigrette for a sweet/tangy side Big pile of sauteed mushrooms Stir fry…
  • SOME short guys have a major complex about being smaller stature, which is a deal breaker for me. I've had shorter boyfriends that were wonderful and their height didn't make a difference to me at all. I've also had relationships with shorter guys that didn't get very far because their obvious Napoleon complex showed…
  • I bought a glass salad dressing bottle for $4 at Target that has recipes and ounce measurements printed right on the bottle, like a measuring cup. I love it because - 1. Making homemade salad dressing is very easy and I don't have to use a separate measuring cup 2. It's easy to to see how much dressing you used (e.g.…
  • Peanut butter and banana Greek yogurt and fresh fruit Chocolate protein powder mixed in low fat milk Egg, low sodium ham and whole grain toast High protein/high fiber cereal in low fat milk Hummus on Wasa crispbread or veggies Small homemade pumpkin muffin (made ahead) with low fat cream cheese Deviled eggs and sweet…
  • Cast Iron Skillet. It cooks good and keeps hubby in line.
  • Lean meats or fish, lots of veggies, fruit, whole grains. Keep your protein high and your fiber high. Keep the sodium under control. Drink lots of water. Have 1 treat every day that is around 150 calories or less. Here are some of my favorite low cal and easy to prepare dinners for one - Fish 4 ounces pan seared flounder…
  • I struggle with exercise too, still. I started out with just walking. It seems like just getting my shoes on is the hardest part because once I'm out there I love it. It's just getting started. It's like kids and baths. They never want to take a bath but once they're in the tub they don't want to get out. I have Zumba on…
  • I tried to use a peepad when we got our puppy. It confused the heck out of her. When we took her to it and told her to "go potty" she looked at us like we were crazy. We left it there for a bit and she went back to it and shredded it. I don't think she liked it.
  • Don't forget the windowsill herb garden, mmmm fresh basil and dill.
  • For a short while in high school I showed some kindness and sympathy to a neighbor girl who turned out to be a bully. She became very clingy, and mogged on to me as her "best friend". I think I would have rather been a kid she bullied than being the bully's "best friend". It was awful. Her house was so strange. Both her…

  • You are a beautiful inspiration! Thank you
  • Depends on the club. A classy place with no touching, sure why not - just don't spend too much $$. An icky place with touching and lap dances, um no.
  • Whichever liquids you choose to count as water are totally up to you. :drinker:
  • A cheat day for me is going fairly far over my normal daily goals. But not so far over that I don't still have a deficit when the entire week is averaged. Sometimes I have a "sodium-only" cheat day where I stay within macros but don't give a crap about sodium. Keeps me sane and I time the full on cheat day to coincide with…
  • Protein, Fiber and Water are my best friends when I feel like I could eat a house. Meat, Wasa crispbread and 2% cheese or hummus, giant bowls of steamed or roasted veg, Chili (watch out for the sodium though), peanut butter, large glasses of iced tea with lemon, leafy greens with real olive oil and vinegar dressing,…
  • I wish they made sample packs. I want to find a sample pack or very small container of protein powder just to try it. I'm not sure if I'll like it and I don't want to drop $20 or more on something if I'm not going to like the way it tastes. Why do all the containers have to be so huge?
  • True People are built all different kinds of ways. At 105 pounds and extremely active I was too skinny everywhere except for my tiny belly pot. I obsessed over it, fruitlessly and pointlessly. I wish I would have appreciated the more cooperative parts of my body then because I was in amazing shape. I couldn't see it…
  • This is very good advice I think.
  • I'm in the "it doesn't matter, whatever works best for you" crowd. If I eat a big breakfast I'm starving the rest of the day. But that's just me.
  • I tried Egg Beaters and I did not like them. I did not find the taste to be worth the sodium content. They didn't even taste like they were salted to me. They were just yucky. Try them and see if you like them. It's the only way to know for sure.
  • Not all "healthy" ideas, more like a "Moderation Easter Basket" - Fancy fruit that you don't normally eat, sweet nuts, a bit of dark chocolate, homemade cupcake (like the ones you make with a cake mix and a diet soda or can of pumpkin), a tiny bag of Jelly Belly beans, banana chips, small bag of kettle corn, small portion…
  • My Personal Rule #1 - If it's not delicious, I'm not eating it. I like real food that tastes good. Real sugar, real butter, real salt, real meat, real veggies, real fruit, real grains, real potatoes. Fake sugar tastes absolutely vile to me and I like a bit of fat with my food. (I wish Chobani would sell more flavors in 2%,…
  • Shirataki noodles and bean sprouts.
  • I had my baby when I was 34 years old. I had a C-section delivery at a very reputable hospital, however it is a "teaching hospital". My OB let a student make the cut. I felt some pressure, then actually heard my OB say, "No, not there" then I felt her move to a different place. UGH. As a result, I have a double scar on one…
  • I love Tzatziki! I put shredded, well drained cucumber in mine too.
  • I'm 5' 1", 42 years old and they give me 1540 for maintenance at 146 pounds (sedentary activity setting and without exercise calories)
  • I did MFP's recommended maintenance calorie level for one month to take a break, and I didn't gain any weight. In fact I think I dropped a half of a pound. So I think their calculations are pretty decent. I thought they felt pretty low myself though ;)
