  • Watch for the bored thing. If you can, fill your mind with reading thoughtful books (e.g. Classics, The Bible, History, Mystery, etc.), and do avoid TV. as a time filler. I found regular channels it to be a tease for food ~ consider just watching movies  Oh, if you have something you want to achieve, like playing…
  • Welcome! Yep, work it is...but it's a joy to get control of exercise, sound eating, blood pressure, and energy. Keep the dialog going with the MFP on your journey...the folks are great, and are an inspiration to all. Cheers! :drinker:
  • Thanks for your follow up. Regarding soda, in general, diet or regular, keep in mind that it's bad for teeth. Really bad. My dentist warned me about diet soda when I asked him which was a good one since I was going to stop drinking regular soda, then he shared this bomb with me. It's ok...I'm more of juice person anyway.…
  • Count me in! My Starting Weight for MFP is 225 My Current Weight is 219 My ultimate goal is 190...preferably less
  • Nice P29! You know...I can walk at a good pace and read, but, it's not quite the same. It's bad enough that I get odd looks when I'm between sets when working out...but I don't spend time looking around or at the mirror like my contemporaries. Then again, I'm trying to max out my time effectively, so why not read when…
  • Nice! Thanks! Soups it is!!! :drinker:
  • No expert...but a lot of expertise in dealing with my stomach  Sorry...just kidding. Ahem...anyway...I can appreciate the no appetite gig, but do take care to maintain a good balance of fresh vegetables and fruit to kinda keep everything normalized. I've increased in my water drinking, but I always drink fruit juice…
  • I'm reading a book called, Mindset. While it's not about dieting, it addresses a lot of the make up of our thinking that stifles efforts and learnings. I'm getting ready to re-read it, as I'm probably the observed reference for this book :blushing: Oh...and I do read when I'm on the Bike, and Elliptical. Treadmill...I…

  • I'm no doctor, but here goes: I can honestly say that I've had about every injury possible in the leg to foot region. Sigh...Achilles... That one is a special one, as you really need to keep that under careful watch. Please consider icing it up, and taking it easy on doing any aerobics until the swelling and pain reduces.…
  • I had to run home to have a repairman work on the dishwasher, so I thought I'd try a quick can of "Healthy Choice Chicken with Rice Soup" for Lunch ~ brought it to a boil, and it was pretty good ;-) The thing that impressed me more was the contents ~ Below. Apologies, I don't mean to not have a recipe from scratch...but I…

  • For me, with stitches above my knee...I'm going to focus on the following: Sit ups Push ups Kettlebell / Dumbell upper body work I can probably get away with flutter kicks (lying down on my back) I like the punches idea a lot
  • Thanks for this one...I almost forgot about Sideways. While some of the wine dialog was insightful and funny...actually, it got me interested into wines :drinker: I found the rest of it dull, and at times just down right embarrassing. I'm really of the opinion that we've just had a real bad generation of…
  • Thanks for this! I am so going to try this!
  • OH...how could I forget... Wild Wild West (disappointing...) Blair Witch Project (this just made me ill...physically, and intellectually  Side note: I wasn't a big fan of I Am Legend. I went out and picked up the original Charlton Heston, Omega Man, and found that more interesting.
  • Ingenious! Thanks!
  • I steer clear of it as when I play/coach Soccer, beef just weighs me down for the longest time (it takes 24 hrs plus to get fully out of your system...). Oddly enough, when I also reduced my chicken and tended more towards Veggies and Fruits, I found myself clearer of mind, and more energetic. Don't get me wrong, I still…
  • Haahaa! Too cute! Hey...wait a minute...this has to do with the Most Overrated Movies.... not Most Dreamy. Haahaa!
  • OK...I was on a call with a colleague and she weighed in with two that she said she had to burn her eyes out on... Show Girls Love Guru For me, one that just made me ill was: Don't mess with the Zohan And I am not a DiCapprio fan. Ugh...Gangs of New York (Horrid)

  • Couple suggestions: 1. Since you're already wired for evenings, how 'bout waking up early to go to work, then leave 30 mins to an hour early to work out earlier in the evening? 2. Instead of leaving early, how 'bout trying something like the 10 min Kettlebell workout in the Morning for a quick start before getting ready,…
  • For grins, you may want to do a simple desert like yogurt with granola and fruit (strawberries, blueberries) before 7. It's very filling  Also, I'm trying chammomile tea to mellow out. Also, I'm trying to stay clear of the kitchen, as I'm finding that one item is the cause of most of my problems...If I'm going to…
