If the craving get too bad try flavored seltzer. You get the fizz without the calories.

I only started (or restarted to be more accurrate) stage 1 last week but I'm thinking I might just repeat NROLF4W once I finish or d the strong lifts. If I stay on schedule I will finish some time in June/July time frame and at that point I think I will be training for my first marathon (haven't decided yet if I'm ready…

This is an awesome thread. nice to know I'm not alone in using the girls to carry stuff.

Don't worry. I'm already behind too. I did a great 5 mile run on Thanksgiving and then woke up on Friday with a cold. Haven't been able to do anything else since. I will try and pick it back up once I am well again. My timing sucks! :grumble:
-
I'm at my sister's an dinner will be starting soon. I ran 5 miles this morning. Woo Hoo!!. I also weighed myself on her scale today as a preview for tomorrow. If her scale is as accurate as mine then it looks like I'm in the losing column again. Here's hoping I see the same number tomorrow at weigh in.

Hi Folks! Today was day one. I ran 5 miles earlier today. How did you do?
-
I did my run too. Happy Thanksgiving all!
-
If you want to do a combination run/walk, that would be ok too.

Hi All. Thanks to jrdoty8986 we have a spreadsheet to record all our mileage https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ApGWjN0Yz2hfdGpBa3NCbG82dkNycWx2VEh3TndPTXc&hl=en_US#gid=0 Right now it looks like we have fitrunnermd, jrdoty8986, josterhaus, Felicia714, and salinat. If any one else wants to join us in this…

I'm going to be training for a half marathon too. I figured 1 mile on my non-run days wouldn't be too much so I'm willing to give it a shot.

I think the challenge is more about getting at least a little running in everyday more so that racking up the miles. If you can do both that's great.. Personally I plan on doing my regular mileage on my regular run days and then on my weight training days finish up those workouts with a quick one mile run on the treadmill.

From what I saw there was no charge but I was just thinking about on my own with other MFP folks.
-
I used the calculator on this site to get my numbers. http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/
-
I'm looking to do the Rock n Roll DC also but only the half. I'm not ready for the full. I'm willing to take up the challenge, I plan to start training next month.
-
I think I stalled because I'm not eating enough. I'm also more tired which I have read can be caused by not eating enough for your activity level.
-
You are doing exactly what I am trying to do. I'm signing up for a half marathon in March and plan to start training for it next month. Which Disney race are you running?
-
This is helping to reaffim that I need to up my calories considerably. I'm 192 lbs and I want to get down to at least 160. MFP put me on 1230 calories and I upped myself to 1380 but I think this might be why my weight loss has stalled after the first month. edit. So I did a quick search to see what my actual BMR is. MFP…

So TOM is definitley here. I gained back the one pound I had lost this week but I am still down from last week. these fluctuations are crazy. Hope next week is better but it is the dreaded Thanksgiving right before weigh-in so we will have to see. Hope everyoen has a good weekend.

Thanks for the laughs. Some of the posts on here had me chuckling. Especially the reference to the 50/50 burger. That sounds awesome. Too bad I'm no in SoCal.

bump so I can read later.

I second this. I use cooking light cook books and make small modifications (i.e. switching ground turkey for ground beef)
-
Also, don't forget to record your reps and the weight you lift each time. It helps to be able to see how far you have come. If you need to bring the book with you to the gym to make sure you are doing the exercises correctly.

Since I couldn't get in to the Iron Girl I signed up for the Celebration Triathlon also in Columbia, MD. I plan on taking some swim classes at my local Y to get my stroke technique down and then I will try for distance too. If you aren't aware (and if you live in the Baltimore area) the Baltimore Area Triathlon club…

I have the cooking light 5 Ingredient 15 minutes cookbook and there is a recipe for beef and black bean chili. I substitute ground turkey for beef. It is quite yummy. 1 pound(s) Ground Turkey 2 can(s) Bush's Black Beans, 15 Oz cans (No Salt) 1 cup(s) Medium or Hot Chunky Salsa 2 can(s) No Salt Added Tomato Sauce, 8 oz cans…

I'll be starting Stage 2 at the end of the month.
