I've been going to the gym alone for years. I can't rely on anyone to be as consistent as I am, plus I don't want anyone to slow me down...
-
I use stationary equipment at the gym such as spinning bikes and the treadmill. I also do heavy weight lifting with free weights, carefully - that really helps my balance. I walk whenever I can too. I work out about 5 days a week.
-
I do HIIT and power lifting and I use a cooling vest, and sometimes neck collar to stay cool. I also drink a lot of water and use a wet towel on my face at times. I work out for about 20 minutes for HIIT and 1 hour for lifting.

"2025 min"?

Thanks guys! I will add an additional 50 calories to my meals...I formatted the original post to so you can read it easier (wish we can do HTML or Rich formatting).

I was diagnosed with PCOS back in 2000. I was rapidly gaining weight and my periods stopped. After years of going to the doctors, eventually taking Metformin 2000mg/day (which did nothing), etc, I was finally able to lose the weight through a strict diet and exercise program. I haven't had an issue with my cycle in about 6…

The classic low fat, high carb diet.

I think for me, because I've been called a "boy" because of my muscles, I never felt feminine because of my tone. Like I said in a previous post, I wanted to be super thin since I was in my teens. Now that I'm going on 33, thankfully I've gotten over that and thankfully I can *walk*, let alone lift.
-
I think a group is a great idea. I was diagnosed almost 3 years ago (weeks after my 30th birthday) and had many ups and downs ever since. Exercise, for me, is the best medicine and I'm thankful every day that I can do it.

I too would enjoy being slender like the model, but its not in my genes either. I tried to fight it for years (more mentally) to no avail!
-
Good topic! I do consider myself "bulky" (photo in profile) and though I do lift weights, its 80% genetics. I have a hard time calculating how many calories I should eat because MFP says I should eat 1470 on my off days and that *seems* like a lot...
-
This is very helpful - thank you so much! Until I see someone, I will stick to 1470 calories/day (I usually eat too far below that). My W/H ratio is .78, so that helps I think.
-
My BMR is 1514.8. I think I may to talk to a personal trainer about this. The more I do my own research, the more confused I am!
-
Good question - I don't know. How would I find that out?
-
It is rare, but some of us (women) DO bulk up. I do like crazy to the point that I force myself lighten up on certain areas of my body. I've literally grown out of shirts and jackets in my shoulders and back from weight training. It may not happen to you, but it MAY happen.
-
MFP thinks I would be on 1475/day, but I think that's too much. I just lowered it to 1300, but wonder if 1200 is enough. I do weight training (have lots of muscle/bulk), hence the weight that MFP is using to calculate my calories. Not sure what to do on my work out days. On my off days I will see if 1300 is enough for me.…

Thanks for posting. Some things are going to apply to us (for me its breakfast), others wont, or I'm already doing it. Take what you like and leave the rest.

I buy mine raw, organic and whole from my local co-op and grind it in a coffee grinder (that I use for flax seeds only) and drink 2 tablespoons in a large glass of water. I try to do this daily, but I've fallen off the wagon. I also use it as a hair gel. :D

Challenge: 1. I think for me its the rowing machine! 2. Incorporate more healthy snacks and stop allowing myself to go hungry. Nuts instead of popcorn. 3. I have a skirt I want to get back into.

The message I got from your original post was't about "thinness" it was more about the self-worth of young girls/women in general. Waiting for a man to fix all of your problems and make you happy. You're not worth anything unless you have a man by your side. I guess I missed the skinny reference in the photos and the…

You look great!

I wonder how much carb intake in involved. I'm in the same boat (need to lose the last 5-10 lbs and have amazing abs). What I do: Gym 4 days a week - cardio (HIIT) and weight training Aim for a gallon of water a day What I don't eat (and haven't for years): Gluten Other grains (except for the "treat" sushi once in a while…

I agree with rajivdubey. For me, calories are secondary (far behind) to sugars in terms of real weight loss.
-
I drink about 1-2 cups a day. I put heavy cream in mine. I DON'T drink coffee right after a workout and after 5:00PM.
-
Water retention for sure. I try to up my water intake and lower my sodium.
-
Thank you, Sarah!
-
Count me in! My issue is not eating enough calories. I average about 1000/day even though I do weight training, HIIT, etc. I also need to watch the sugars (I have PCOS/insulin resistance).

It takes a powerful blender (eg. Vitamix) to really blend the veggies so they are almost liquefied. You want the veggies to remain raw.
