It must be an American thing; None of my friends or colleagues go out for breakfast although I belive that is changing slowly. Why? It only takes 3 mins in a microwave to prepare a bowl of porridge or even less for a cold ceral with skimmed milk. Even a boiled egg and toast soldiers.

What a good idea! I'm usually quite disciplined and limit myself to once a week ......but lately I've been feeling the urge to jump on more often. I think I'll hide my scales too!:happy:

It's not a diet. You can eat healthily and in fact you must eat healthily or your children will follow in your footsteps and eat junk. I could starve for six months and still have big boobs (maybe something to do with being postmenopausal) However I just bought a great new sports bra from M&S for £16 and that gives great support for when I'm in the gym. they are sized like 38DD , 40c but because of the shape I don't think the cup size is that critical

Just don't get discouraged. You will see the weight coming off in collar and waist size. And think how great you'll feel when you can weigh on ordinary scales. And we're here to help if you feel down

So good to hear about a goal reached. It helps the rest of us to realise that we can do it too. Good idea to keep up the exercise and fitness and just maintain a healthy weight. But keep watching! the pounds have a tendency to creep back on sneakily. Well done :drinker:

I find that it helps if instead of exhaling normally, you blow out hard as if you are blowing candles out. Don't worry about breathing in again - that will come naturally. What happens is that when you blow out you are emptying your lungs better which means you take in more oxygen with your next breath

I have the iphone app so I like to put my food in as or just after I'm eating it. It's very handy when you're eating out or at work

It IS hard work but your results show that you are already healthier and will be healthier still. AND......... you've got a waist back! Very well done and keep the pounds dropping off!

Mine use to shrink with weight loss but I am now past the menopause and I haven't noticed any difference this time. My boobs swelled enormously during the change and stayed big. I HATE THEM

It would be a good idea if restaurants put the nutrition values of their meals on the menu. I know it's good for you, but boy does it hurt the lungs, Living where I do, if I want to run outside I have to run uphill; I have no choice. But good 30 minute plan - I shall try that and zigzaging downhill. Thanks :happy:

Oh dear me , that was a good rant! the worst thing that happened to me in my gym at work was when the girl next to me got off her treadmill and reached down to unplug her machine - but she unplugged mine by mistake. That could have need dangerous but luckily I came to a dead stop. Just when I was getting into a goos sweat…

Light weights and more reps will tone. Big weights just give you big muscles

Your body has to overcome a certain amount of inertia before you can see a difference. IT WILL COME - believe me. Just don't give up. You can't expect your metabolism to crank up immediately

It's difficult not to take a sneaky peeky in between official weigh times, but try to weigh (with no clothes on) at the same time once a week. This gives a better idea of trend rather than a one off blip, which I think this is. Keep going and don't be disheartened - these things happen.

Walking is good - it is also a weight bearing exercise which, if you're a woman of a certain age (Like me :cry: ) , helps to build up bone mass density which can help to ward of the dreaded osteoporosis
