  • Having candida... it has been my BIGGEST struggle. To keep on such a restrictive diet. No gluten, no dairy, no sugar. I have a pretty clean eating habit nowadays, i don't get depressed if the scale doesn't budge, been at the same weight pretty much since January. it's a hard thing to handle, but seeing the silver lining is…
  • After my first attempt I ruined all progress because i let him sleep with me at night. He is getting much better, however he still has nights where he is worse than others. i.e. Friday he was horrible, we didn't even sleep 2 hours before he started being ridiculous and last night he was fine from 10:00-5:15. I think he…
  • What if they ask your opinion?? LOL my boytoy is starting a new diet plan, probably values my opinion, then I gave it to him straight up and he didn't like what i had to say... not MY fault his 'trainer' doesn't know what he's talking about... The guy doesn't even know him and is charging him pennies...
  • I was told that it basically renders your incline useless... which makes sense, don't you slightly tilt your body forward when you walk on an incline, therefore making it harder?? I never use the handrail on the treadmills, I go to whatever speed I can handle whether its on an incline or not... I don't walk outside holding…
  • Thanks everyone for all your input. I am going to stick to a min. 1700 cal/day intake for at least 2-3 weeks and see what goes from there... I know I've lost inches, but it's the number I want to see!! However I will not force myself to eat anything if i am not that hungry... like yesterday I came in at 1540 about. i was…
  • Thanks everyone for the input :-) i'll be upping my calories to a whopping 1700 (more or less) based on your suggestions... I tried the eat more to lose weight approach, but probably didn't stick to it long enough... stupid me, wanting results overnight practically! Will also be measuring myself once/week to take note of…
  • My weight loss sucks so far (I know i've lost 43 pounds but that's since August 2011) I would like to be losing on average 1-2 pounds a week considering I still have 53 pounds to go to reach my goal which is not even my 'healthy' BMI range, that would be 65 pounds more or less... I just don't know what I should be doing…
  • Hi Laura!! Fellow candida battler here :) feel free to add !! Sugar is evil but it tastes so good!! Keep in mind that after a while, when you do follow your strict diet, that you'll feel so much better and happier that you won't want to revert to old habits, I eat a higher-protein based diet which in return cuts down my…
  • I was informed by a nutritionnist that carving sweets often means you are lacking some protein... if you have protein, you surprisingly won't crave as much sugar. From personal experience, having a higher protein diet won't make me crave the sweets... I also have a chocolate flavored protein shake that's flavored &…
  • I know the feeling!! but the fear of going back up there is what's keeping me going!!
  • Yes, everyone has their way of getting their candida symptoms under control ;) I've done clay & soluble fibre in September and it worked wonders with a very restrictive diet... and was really doing well until my bf & I took a break, then all hell broke lose in the sense that I would eat away my emotions and carb up. I have…
  • Beautiful face... one can always change a body (isn't that why we're here??) :)
  • Name: Jackie / 27yo SW: 236 CW: 193ish (broke down and been bad, too scared to step onto the scale) GW: 140 (but will revise as I continue losing... its more about how I look than what I weigh) I've been on here a while, it's always nice to have support from others, friends & family often are not the best to rely on. feel…
  • Not so new, but am always looking for support, often better than close friends & family :)
  • I'm supposed to be on a high protein, high fat diet.... told to drink LOADS of water... at least 4 L
  • -30 with wind here in Montreal!! go hit it and hit it hard!! Although i don't stop anywhere on the way home, I work in a fitness centre hihihi so I go during my lunch break and after work.
  • Oooh wishing your Ladybug finds her way home!! I had a cat run away for almost a month... don't give up hope! :) My furbaby's name is Fiji... he's my first siamese and he's turning 2 in March. I've got to say there hasn't been anything boring about him!! Keeps me on my toes with all his demands and quests for attention.…
  • 5'3" too over here :) my GW is 135-140... before I gained weight, I was 125 pounds, except that for me, it was too skinny. I have always had big boobs & big butt, at my skinniest I was wearing a size 3-5 jean. Everyone's body is different as you can see how everyone also have different goal weights
  • I prefer it with spaghetti sauce on top... i've made a garlic shrimp sauté and also a tomato, basil, olives & feta cheese kind of thing too
  • I wasn't talking about PARTS of protein, i was talking about PORTIONS of protein. And although peanut butter contains some source of protein, it still remains a fat, beans are also a good protein source however it still remains 1/2 PORTION of protein because they also have a greater source of carbohydrates. I got my…
  • Yay hourglass!! still quite overweight, but have always been hourglass Current measurements: Bust: 44 Waist: 36 Hips: 43 would like to see all those numbers drop significantly :)
  • if i have liquid cash on me, i'll spend it recklessly, i'm more vigilant with debit/credit purchases... besided, unlimited bank transactions :)
  • 2 full eggs are actually a complete protein on their own... 4 egg whites become a complete protein.
  • What they said!! :)
  • Just an FYI, although milk has protein in it, does not mean it is a portion of protein, it also has a lot of sugar. if you want proper protein in DAIRY products, GREEK yogurt, cottage cheese, quark cheese are the only actual protein sources, beans are extremely high in starch, 1/2 cup of beans/lentils albeit great…
  • I'm 5'3" 26 SW: 236 CW: 202 GW: 140
  • protein cuts down your craving for sweets :-)
  • Crystal Light is just as bad... it contains artificial sweeteners... if water doesn't cut it. put fruit in it, makes a difference for me!! i see people put strawberries, orange slices, apple... i just like the taste of lemons (I'm not allowed any form of sugar/sweetener)
  • just fyi http://www.livestrong.com/article/444353-negative-effects-of-artificial-sweeteners/ there's so many more benefits of drinking water, if you don't like water, you can add lemon to it, or other fruit slices... green tea is also quite beneficial. :-)
