Don't know if anyone else saw this article, but I came across it a couple days ago. Really sad. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-4303058/Models-reveal-ugly-truth-fashion-industry.html

It is not okay for anyone to eat uncontrollably. And I agree with you, there are much larger issues which need to be addressed, like therapy. My degree is associated with counseling, which is the perspective I'm coming from. There are a lot of other factors, but my initial point was that we can't toss aside food addiction,…

It's not an excuse to eat uncontrollably. It's like telling a heroine addict to make a better choice: easier said than done considering the amount of neuroplasticity created when those "feel good" chemicals become an addiction.
-
Just because you personally do not like fast food doesn't mean it doesn't have additives. Just because it doesn't give you a "high" feeling doesn't mean it doesn't have addictive chemicals. It's not just something I made up. I was learning about it in class last week, about which chemicals do certain things to the brain.…
-
No offense, but the additives that are put in many of fast food products produce the same "opiate-like" chemicals, which induce a "feel-good" sensation, and can create an addiction. If someone were to live on fast food for several weeks or months, it can easily become an addiction.

It's a good meal replacement when you're on the go, or a good alternative to dinner. The people who made it were super over-the-top. That's all they drink, but it's not normal. However, if you don't feel like eating anymore or you lack taste buds, then it's nutritionally dense and a good decision. Probably not for the rest…

Is anyone still doing this? How are the results?

bump, I've started ADF again. I actually have premium, so I'm able to track my calories per day without too much hassle.
-
Yeah that is the program. I got pretty tired of the recipes and quit. Still counting calories, just not following the recipes.

I slowly weaned myself off of sugar and cream. I got a brand I enjoyed and put less and less cream and sweetener in mine until I was okay with black. I still love cream and sugar, but I can enjoy black. Try local coffee shops in your area for beans or grounds. If you're wanting to dive head first into black coffee, I would…

Halfway there! Way to go!

I always lose weight in November and gain it back starting in March :/ Weird cycle for me
-
Look at that confidence! You're glowing :)
-
Is it possible it affects hunger on some more than others, which causes weight gain?
-
I think it's worth it, actually. I do alternate day fasting sometimes, so it's nice to set daily caloric goals. Also, the macronutrient aspect is pretty detailed and nice to have. I've gotten a lot of use out of it, personally.
-
You're right, a lot of people gain muscle and don't "lose" weight but the inches drop dramatically, and the body looks more toned :)
-
No.

I'm on wellbutrin, which is an appetite suppressant as well as an anti-depressant. I definitely haven't gained weight because of the pill.
-
The first week = water weight.
-
I skip breakfast or eat something very light for breakfast (like one egg). Some people swear you need breakfast, but I don't need it. You could try limiting your breakfast and lunch and having a larger dinner.
-
Yay! I'm very happy for you!
-
Wow, that is really impressive. Way to go!
-
Yeah! Way to go!

Bump :) For interest

Haha. Fair enough. Also, it was my period. Figured it out. Now I'm not hungry at all. Perks of being a chick.

I am, I've had 63 grams of protein already today. I am, I've had 63 grams of protein already today.

No, I usually don't binge. I tend to eat less on my feast days because my stomach has rested from the fast day prior. My appetite is reduced. I realize what actual hunger feels like and I tend to make healthier decisions naturally. It is kind of weird how it affects me.
-
I'm talking about alternate day fasting. Every other day.
