  • I'm back on the MFP wagon, but my routine looks the same as it did when I was on MFP for a long time. 6:30 am- two boiled eggs 7:30 am- black coffee 9:15 am- small snack (usually grapes) 11:30am- lunch (usually a small amount of meat, fruit, and a soda) 1:00pm- small snack (pudding, pistachios, etc) 3:30 pm- small snack…
  • My favorite snack ever at night is Milk Duds. 13 of those baddies are only 170 calories. I can savor them for 30 minutes as a bedtime treat (though my teeth aren't so happy with that arrangement)
  • I'm 5' 7.5" (close enough, right?) and my goal weight is currently 175 and a US size 12/14. Once I get there I'll reevaluate.
  • The first 8 days of being on MFP I lost 7 lbs (I know this was mostly water weight). For the past 4 I haven't dropped even 1/10th of an oz. But it's cool. If in 2 weeks it still hasn't budged then I'll start to worry.
  • Wow your "Before" stats are almost EXACTLY like mine, down to the height, weight, and clothing size (except for bra size). I just started on this journey (for the 3rd time) and you're inspiring! Did you incorporate a lot of exercise as well or was this mostly through diet?
  • Yes and no. I'm only counting calories right now, not macros. I don't log my diet coke or black coffee. I don't log any salt or pepper I add to my food. I don't log if I sneak two blueberries while I'm preparing my daughter's snack (but I do if I "sneak" two blueberries 5 times that day). However when it comes to…
  • Great job! I can't wait to "lose" my 2 year old (especially when she's throwing a tantrum :p )
  • I know it's possible to have a style while being plus-sized and I didn't mean to imply that being plus-sized means you're frumpy. But I'm super cheap, and can never justify spending my money on the the limited selection of overpriced (comparable to standard size) fashionable plus-sized clothes. I long for the day when I…
  • Yeah, I think they're fried but not breaded. I'm guessing 100 calories a wing with the mild sauce. I was 300 calories under my goal yesterday so I figure a little over today won't hurt me too bad.
  • So for 1,000 does that mean you ate the whole dinner? Including the rice, egg roll, and fortune cookie? Or is it just the entree itself? I really want General Tsao's. If I ate 1/2 of the chicken, rice, and egg roll think that would safely be around 900 calories or so?
  • Confession: at my fattest, when I sit on the toilet to go #2 I have to grab my cheeks and spread them apart so...well, you know why.
  • . Part of the reason why I switched to a new OB a few months ago. The doctor I had when pregnant with #1 was not at ALL concerned about my weight, even though I was. I started that pregnancy 65 lbs overweight as well. When I asked how much I should gain since I was obese to begin with I was told to not worry about it and…
  • Not trying to be argumentative, but why is it an awful idea? I eat probably 4,000 calories a day "maintaining" my current weight, and I can't imagine that's at all healthy for a growing baby. I'm not looking for a drastic change while pregnant, but I'd like to lose some weight during pregnancy so that I end up "only" 50…
  • The pain that I feel is not normal asthma pain/wheezing. My problem is that I have avoided any cardiovascular activity for my entire life. When I was young and my metabolism was high and I was doing martial arts I was still relatively in shape. Now, I am SO out of shape and find myself winded after chasing my toddler up…
  • Thanks everyone! As a background, I was diagnosed with asthma at age 6 and have been hospitalized 7 different times in my life for it (most recent being 6 years ago). I am currently on 3 asthma maintenance medications daily in addition to a "rescue" inhaler and my asthma is well controlled (for the time being!). I've…
  • I officially weigh less than my husband. We're both pretty overweight so that's not saying much, but it's the first time I've been the "skinnier" one since we met!
  • I'm at 1270 calories because I'm pretty overweight and am looking to get rid of 15 or 20 lbs quick before upping my calories into the 1500/1600 calorie range for "slow and steady" loss. The more it's mentioned, the chicken biscuit DOES look pretty good. I've been eating pretty light today to save myself 700 calories or so…
  • This post was such an inspiration to me. I'm just starting on weight loss journey, and I think I am at the same stage in life as you were when you started (young child) and possibly even about the same weight just looking at your pictures. This was a wonderful motivation. THANK YOU!
  • Yes, at the moment I work at a desk job all day and do very little activity outside of work, so the "sedentary" description fits me perfectly. I KNOW I need to add exercise in, but that's a beast I'll tackle when I start making some progress handling my eating and am in a better mental state. Currently, I don't really feel…
  • Thanks everyone! MizRoxy, I was eating a healthy version of banana bread with Splenda and applesauce (not nearly as good as non-healthy!). I'll start logging all my liquids. Do you guys think I should up my calories to 1400 or so? Multiple websites where I calculated my caloric needs say around 1200 (sedentary lifestyle),…
  • Wow, looks like this thread hit home for many people. I'm glad I'm not the only one. When I say "skinny" I really just mean in good shape to run around after my daughter, and preferably a size 12 or below. I was a size 16 as a freshman in high school (currently a 20/22), so I have no idea what I'd look like as a 12, or a…
  • I second all of the advise on here! Small portions, load up on veggies when possible, etc. I'll throw one more out there: Don't get too worked up over it. If you enjoy your in-laws, then enjoy your visit! Do your best to stay in line, but don't beat yourself up if you don't stay precisely in your calories for the visit.…
  • I just ordered PB2 and the chocolate kind yesterday. I'm super excited to try out these recipes!
  • This looks awesome! Can't wait to try it.
  • That's awesome! Even as a kid and teen I could never run more than 1/4 a mile and just last month I started going to the gym regularly. I couldn't even jog for more than 20 seconds, and yesterday I went a full 60 seconds (baby steps!). It feels good and you're an inspiration that it's possible.
  • I lost about 30 lbs for my wedding in April 2012, and then promptly gained 12 lbs back. So I second the notion that it shouldn't be your only goal! I'm too lazy to put pictures in here, but you can see some in my profile.
  • I use the instant oatmeal packs, which are about 32 grams each. A little less or a little more shouldn't hurt. The less water and more oatmeal, the better they are for holding up in burgers. As for calories, each patty is right about 150 calories. I usually eat 2 for dinner with a vegetable of some kind, so I get a very…
  • My suggestion is to still cook healthy, nutritious, balanced meals. You and your hubby should still measure out your portions and limit yourself to that, but your little ones should be able to go back for 2nds (and 3rds!) until they're full. They're still growing and their bodies will tell them what they need. Eventually…
  • Thanks both of you for the words of encouragement! I went to the gym yesterday and worked out very hard, trying to get this frustration out. Even did 2 more reps of weights than usual and then came home and ate baked tilapia, broccoli, and corn on the cob. I'm going to stick with this is until I see results. I'll look into…
  • Had the first ever one of those dreams last night! I dreamed that I ate an entire box of Dunkin Donuts and felt horrific afterwards. Even more so when everyone around me was eating salad and grilled chicken and giving me awful looks. I woke up ready to cry until I realized it was just a dream. Phew!
