i have the shake weight and noticed my arms got toned. if you do it correctly, it gets your heart rate up, which burns calories too. maybe i'll try it with my HRM on one day to see how many calories it burns.

i've found that my cycle changes my hunger status alot. and i'm always hungry after a workout.

i have the polar FT 4 and i love it! since u followed all the directions, maybe the strap isn't where it should be? maybe try checking your resting HR with the monitor and then check it yourself the old fashioned way by counting on your wrist. see if they match up.

sound a little like me too, except for the new to town part. my husband tries to be supportive but he's more overweight than me and still eats crap and wants me to buy it. i have 2 kids and stay home with them now after 12 years of teaching. friend me if u like.

i'm no expert like your trainer is, but i've lost 6 pounds in 3 weeks since i joined. i still eat whole eggs, not just the whites, i make a protein shake sometimes for breakfast or snack, i eat red meat, and i est dessert oo, just alot less than i used to. don't deprive yourself cuz you'll end up quitting.

did u weigh yourself at a different time of day? is it that time of the month? lots of factors involved. i went up a pound too after doing great with food and exercise but it came back off and then some. don't stress over such a small amount.

as much as i hate getting on that damn elliptical, i get good calorie burn from it. i have a bad knee and it's great for that. i love to walk outside, and my knee usually is ok, but sometimes it hurts later in the day. and u can't burn as many calories walking as u can on the elliptical in the same time.

i agree with rainbowbow. if i don't have my morning coffee i get a headache. i have a keurig. flavored coffee is already a little sweet. started 2 weeks ago. i weigh myself about 2-3 times a week. i think i'm going to just do it once a week. headaches could be from the change in your diet. did u cut out caffeine? i need one cup of coffee in the morning or i get a headache later. and drink water! good luck!

i'm not an exercise expert, but i know to lose weight you have to burn more calories than you take in, so it would sense that if you did harder workouts you'd lose weight faster. right?
