You are correct that gluten isn't the issue (it's a protein) for a low FODMAP diet. It's the sugars in wheat that can be problematic. It's also true that a lot of gluten-free products are not low FODMAP, so it's really important to pay attention to all ingredients.

I'm not into oversharing, and the thought of random people looking at my diary kind of creeps me out. I will tell you that successful weight loss is mainly about reducing the amount of food you're eating, and less about the specifics of your food choices. If you want new food ideas, maybe check the recipes section?

Personally, I have no desire to be overweight and inactive. But you do you

I've been happily maintaining since early December on 1900 calories a day, an amount recommended to me by a registered dietician, based on my age (45), height (5'10), weight (148lbs), and current activity level. I'm in excellent health, don't over-exercise, and don't take any medications.

Would you mind sharing some of these studies? I'm genuinely curious.

Depending on which frame size I choose (small vs medium--my fingers are extremely long), I'm either 8 or 18lbs underweight at my current BMI of 21.2. Lol no.

I'm 44 and started smoking in college. When I quit 3 1/2 years ago (patch + wellbutrin), I gained about 10 pounds, which I quickly lost. More importantly, for the first time in my adult life, I reached a weight that I am happy with, and am now maintaining, WITHOUT the aid of cigarettes. The cravings haven't completely gone…

If it's not important enough for you to learn it, why should I bother to teach it? Ultimately, your success depends on you, not anyone else.

It's actually not as uncommon as you might think; I know of several other people who are matches for their spouses. The criteria for matching donors is much less stringent than it once was, due to improved medications and developments from transplant research.

I'm donating a kidney to my husband in two weeks. By taking care of my health, I'm able to do something that will improve his life.

I don't. It's a holiday, so I enjoy myself.

Hey, I'm also preparing to donate a kidney to my husband. The transplant surgeon explained to me that this is one of the more stressful surgeries he performs, because he's essentially putting a healthy person at risk. The weight recommendation is to minimize risk to your own health as much as possible, as well as to help…
