  • I'm a girl & don't wear gloves..... .... I do think they help if you're working in a cold environment like a garage or something, or if your calluses are tore up, but I never quite understood gloves, especially for EVERY exercise....chalk it up ;) lol gloves don't prevent calluses...& you can shave them with a razor -…
  • HRM is far more reliable than any preset number mfp has set.... with my hrm my numbers are higher than what they have when it comes to weight training. The cardio numbers seem some what close, but still exaggerated. but agreed, sometimes I see posts like walked 3.0 speed for an hour, 600+ cal burn....& I wonder if they…
  • I live in gym clothes and could care less if anyone else likes it. Granted I try to make myself look as put together as possible when wearing them --like prior posts said, as long as they fit & look good, it's fine! YOU EARNED that body, rock whatever makes you feel comfortable!! && ps. NO Panty lines - EVER- no matter…
  • Agree with prior posts... Keeping the foods out of my house has helped...but really it is a psychological battle. It's funny how your taste buds change over time. I used to crave sweets -like buttercream anything!...now it's ridiculous things like apples and peanut butter or bags of broccoli! lol
  • Congratulations on starting your journey, I'd love to be there to help motivate & support you along the way :) Feel free to add me!
  • I watched both..... Agreed that there wasn't enough factual information to back up Supersize me....however anyone dumb enough to waste money on fast food as an actual 'weight loss' diet is an idiot... granted some people find ways to justify it in their lives & that's ok...but no way am I putting that crap in my body over…
  • POLAR FT40!!!! <3 I think I answer to every hrm post lol....I just love it so much!

  • I am one of those 'carb sensitive' people...& yes it is a REAL thing. The only way I found this out was from consistent food monitoring and playing with my macros. Carbs are not bad!!!!! Being a vegetarian I consume a large number of complex carbs...like veggies -especially broccoli- & sweet potatoes which I love! <3 Now…

  • You've had a ton of great replies but I couldn't help it because I know how hard it can be, I too battle with depression..and social anxiety disorder :/ --boo. The gym has become my home away from home & it is now a part of my daily life, can't imagine how I ever did without! That being said, it is also a huge part of my…
  • Polar ft40!! Makes logging exercises super easy as it counts calories burned. Just be sure to update your personal information --ie weight changes & resting heart rate-- to keep it accurate (:

  • AWESOME POST!!!!!!!!!! Great Job!!!! I always wonder how people eat any less!? :)
  • I'm going to go ahead and guess you are going by the manual input mfp has established for macro ratios which are already pretty low.... The simple fact you are sticking to 1200 cals means any overage is nothing to worry about, especially if it's in protein (:
  • Have you considered making the transition to vegetarian first? I'm fully supportive of a vegan lifestyle, however you say you like meat too much...this makes me think the jump straight into vegan might end up being a fail as it's far more restrictive. I've been a vegetarian for 8 years & can't imagine living any other way.…
  • I have never really been into the 'rewards system' but decided anything that motivates is a great idea! 140lb - Flag Nor Fail purchase --love Dana Linn Bailey, my greatest inspiration! 135lb - Leopard Print Femme Fitale lifting gloves 130lb - Finally purchase a new wardrobe...courtesy of the boyfriend ;) lol I like your…
  • ^^Agree with this post, I am in the same boat! I try not to pay too much attention to the scale as my weight easily fluctuates between 3-5 lbs on a regular basis due to water retention. From monitoring my food intake I have concluded that this is far more likely when I consume too many carbs, especially simple ones like…
  • 125. or whatever keeps me below 20% body fat (:
  • I've had mine for a month or so & I am absolutly in love with it! It keeps track of your daily training, and breaks everything down into daily & weekly logs. The strap is easily adjustable & stays in place really well, even after washing it a few times I've had no issues. Wear it to lift, run, abs, dance, even to jump…
  • 1. put the scale away for a few weeks. 2. take measurements! After months of ALWAYS eating my cals back, that my weight stayed the same, however my muscle gains were significant. Weight wise I lost maybe 4 lbs in 4-5months --but my hips went from 41 to 36, waist from 28 to 26/25.5...needless to say measurements are what…
  • so I realize people have posted to this & I'm sure it's been said --- but OMG I can't even imagine a protein powder not tasting awesome!! I look forward to mine daily (I drink betweeen 4-5 a day between whey/whey isolates/casein -- vegetarian:) OPTIMUM NUTRITION - LOVE them. Mint chocolate is my FAVE! They have a lot of…

  • You only live once...why not? -- As long as they weren't trashy....if they were going to be published I'd want monetary compensation.
  • I LOVE my polar ft40! It keeps track of my daily workouts (hours) & calories burned. It also stores them by the week so I can monitor my progress ---it's great seeing where my heart rate is during a workout...ie fat burn vs exercise mode << let's me know when I need to step my game up!

  • That eating more & exercising is wayyyyyy more beneficial than eating less!
  • I log EVERYTHING...Even my 4000+ days are in here...guilty sure, but they prob would have been worse without logging! Plus I'm just anal & like to keep track of everything! agree with earlier posts --don't lie to yourself... I find keeping my high cal days logged helped me spot a trends in my eating habits! Now those high…
