I would try to hit between closer to 1200 cals/day. Watch your sodium levels, get plenty of sleep, drink plenty of water. Take pics and measurements for comparison.

I find that MFP shows a +500 cal difference and around +5g net carb difference in my days when compared to another app (CM) that is geared more towards keto WOE. I put the same foods in and really can't see where the difference is. I use both apps because MFP syncs with my Fitbit better than the other app. It's possible…

@ICanDoThisIn2019 I'm not big on intermittent fasting either. The closest I get is only a bulletproof coffee for breakfast and nothing else. There have been evenings where I just wasn't hungry so I didn't eat anything until the next morning, but that's pretty rare. I usually eat something for lunch and supper and maybe an…

@JenVB22 I started Keto using another app, but recently got a fitbit that only syncs to MFP, so I am back here logging more in order to make all the apps work in my favor. I focus on my %, not so much hitting my limits. I do try to ensure that I am getting at least 1200 cals/day. I am conscious of where my grams are per…

I know this is an older post, but for any newcomers - People need to be specific when they are listing/talking carbs. Are you talking total carbs or net carbs (Total carbs minus fiber)? Makes a big difference. 20g net carbs or less is the typical keto plan. This means your total carbs will be around 40-60g. <50g net carbs…

Hello everyone! I've been doing keto/low carb since October 1. I am down 24 pounds with no exercise and no gimmicky shakes and other items that allow you to cheat on this way of eating. I only use MCT oil and collagen peptides for supplements and track my net carbs. I'm down 24 pounds and have about 60 more to go, but this…

Rice does expand when cooked. It almost doubles, just like pasta. You use 1 cup white rice to 2 cups water. 1 cup brown rice to 1 1/2 cups water at least.

Get a rice cooker - got mine at Target for about $20. Don't know what I did without it. Real rice tastes so much better than minute rice. My rice cooker takes 1 hour for brown rice (brown rice is supposed to have a little bite/texture to it) and 30 minutes for white rice. Love that mine has a delay timer so I can set it in…

What's the point of being on MFP if you're not tracking calorie intake and exercise output? People are giving you good advice to help you not fail and you are not even listening to it. Fad diets/crash diets are just that. They are designed to make money for someone, but most people only fail. The fine print always says…

Truth! Whether we are allowed on front lines or not, women are still in danger in war zones regardless of their jobs. Convoys are hit by IEDs all the time, mortar attacks, woman are driving those trucks as well. Women are in the turrets of the security/gun trucks protecting those convoys. Women are the medics that are sent…

Bring all that stuff mainstream. Who cares what others think. You're eating it, they're not. People need exposure to healthy alternatives, even if they are weird. Green smoothies (even the ones that look like swamp sludge) are becoming more common. It's something that is easy to prepare ahead of time, easy to transport,…

I also enjoy Think Thin bars. Not all are 20g protein each, but good selection are. Run just under $2 a bar generally, I can get them from Sam's Club for $1.75/bar (case of 15?) I also like Atkins bars, have to check which ones have high protein. For premade liquid protein drinks, I go with Ensure High Protein Drink. As…

I can't use most commercial shampoos or conditioners. All the chemicals irritate my scalp and leave me more oily than ever (anything containing SLS or SLES - which is pretty much everything, including Suave Naturals). I found in Target in the Ethnic section shamopoo and conditioners called Shea Moisture. I use the shampoo…

Call a podiatrist (foot doctor) and see what they charge. Probably will be cheaper.

I only weigh myself at work as I don't have a scale at home. And I found the best time to weigh myself is later morning (after breakfast, before lunch). The weight fluctuates some, but I'm getting a close enough reading for my purposes. I can tell when I've eaten too much salty foods and just plain eaten too much. It does…

It might be that you are detoxing since you are probably eating healthier. Not so much that your fat is releasing toxins, but that your body is adjusting to your new diet and routine. Doesn't hurt to take some extra vitamins if you think you need them. It also is that time of year where it's getting cooler, people aren't…

Got to love times like that!

Reusable bags are supposed to be washed regularily to prevent the growth/transfer of germs/bacteria from/to food products. Most should hold up just fine on a gentle wash with warm/cold water. Probably would air dry them though.

I was in my 4th year of college, 1st class of the day, my 3rd year in the MN Army National Guard, wearing an Army PT shirt. They released us early, and as I walked through the student union center, everyone was amassed around the TVs watching the news. I went to the bank and then back to my apartment. I made a few phone…

I enjoy the yoga classes I go to. They mix in some pilates moves as well periodically and those are a great workout too. I have seen increased strength and flexibility from my yoga classes. I can do so much more now that I couldn't when I started 6 months ago. I wish I had more options around here for yoga and pilates…

There is a few of us on here, but this group is really quiet. Good luck on your weight loss.

Yoga is what I do becuase it also incorporates many of my physical therapy exercises for my low back.
