  • We make our own using natural peanuts and a little peanut oil. Excellent texture and no added salt or hydrogenised fats. As healthy as natural peanuts.
  • All things in moderation................. including moderation. Don't beat yourself up over an occasional blowout .:blushing:
  • I generally won't feel hungry even if I have calories left over so i treat myself to a glass of wine or a whiskey at the end of the evening.
  • Update to the recipe I posted above. I did get around to making it again later today and added 20g of Cocoa. It came out glistening and crunchy. Added some mango pieces and mango jus and it was marvellous. This is definitely one I am making again.
  • I have answered the question three times throughout the thread. So for the last time, use about 2 to 3 tablespoons per pancake and it should be about 3 inches in diameter to get 17 If you like them thicker try using an egg ring to contain the mix from spreading. :flowerforyou: Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free…
  • Chilli lentil, bean and vegetable stew (Remove the pancetta if you are vegetarian but if not, for the calories it adds it really enhances the flavour. Substitute bacon for pancetta) The spice mix referred to is 2 tsp ground chilli, 4 tsp cumin powder, 1 tsp dried oregano. Ingredient Annalisa - Italian Diced Tomatoes, 399 g…
  • I have the world's greatest kitchen tool called a Thermomix. I use it to mill my own flour so i use whole wheat. For cakes I sieve it to remove the husks but for the pancakes I use it as whole wheat flour with the husks included. It adds great texture and the fibre is great for you.
  • Now that's a great idea. Thanks for the ideas to vary for savoury and sweet and a great low cal meal. I'll be trying this myself. Cheers John
  • I'd love to get feedback from anyone who's tries this and definitely interested in ideas to make it better or create variations.
  • I make them about 3 to 4 inches in diameter. Nice and small.
  • I started on MFP 8 weeks ago and have lost 8.6kg (19lb) so far. have had the occasional blow out day but try to claw the extra calories back over the next 2 or 3 days. Averaging about 1kg (2.2lb) a week loss and having sweet treats along the way, just in moderation. I am astonished about how easy it is with good tools like…
  • I don't use them to feel full. I use them at the end of the day as a sweet treat with blueberries and low fat icecream so i usually only have 2. Or I will have them as a between lunch and dinner snack by themselves and once again only have 2. It's to treat or just take the edge off hunger between meals rather than a meal…
  • So there's a reason to question their real value. :grumble: Not a big Dr Oz sellout fan.
  • In Australia we call them pike lets (like a mini pancake) they make about a 3 inch round each.

  • I agree with Barbara98. I have a sweet tooth too and have something sweet every day. The trick is to have it sweet and not over the top with calories. I recently posted a recipe for low calorie cheese cake that is only 100 calories a slice, a recipe for pancakes that are 26 calories each and with blueberries are about 40…
  • 82 calorie individual pavlova recipe will be posted this weekend after I have tried them.

  • Independently verifies calorie count from checking all ingredients by quantity with a calorie count website. :drinker:
  • I will post this separately on the recipe blog as well for those not following this thread. Made these 3 weeks ago and they are excellent. Low Calorie Pancakes Recipe Makes 17 servings low calorie pancakes: 26 calories per serving. With the calorie content so low you can add blueberries for a sweet treat, cheese and chives…

  • 12 servings in a recipe. It makes a 9" round cake.
  • Thanks for all the positive comments. Watch next week for 82 calorie individual pavlovas. I have had the recipe for some time but haven't tried them yet. Going to use the family for guinea pigs. If the feedback is positive I'll post the recipe next week.
  • The recipe makes a 9" round. I cut it into 12 slices to get the 100 calorie serve. If you have extra calories available to you and want and extra treat then a second slice isn't out of the question. Bon appétit
  • I can't do without my milk coffee in the morning. An 8 oz. regular cup with 2% milk is 99 calories so easy enough to fit in every day. I always count it. Other dairy needs are met through low fat natural or greek style yoghurts with muesli for breakfast (60 calories for 2 oz.) or on low cal chilli, curries, etc.

  • I joined MFP on December 30 2011. I didn't want the cliche of having made a New Year resolution haunt me. When I started I was 145kg (Kilograms in Australia. That's 319lb) My first target is 100kg (220lb) I'll look to getting down to my recommended weight after that. I've targeted 12 months to lose the 45kgs and…
  • My wife and I are tragics for Lindt chocolate truffles. Before embarking on our lifestyle change we would open a box of 12 and eat them all in the one night. At 70 calories each that was an extra 420 added to our daily totals. Now to treat ourselves we have one each if we have spare calories available at the end of the…
  • I agree with you 100% about high water intake, particularly above 2 litres a day. I do believe 6 to 8 glasses of water is necessary for good health. My experience over 30 years was that apart from whatever liquids i was getting from food I was only drinking maybe a glass of water a day. Since having 6 to 8 glasses a day my…
  • I don't count the very small quantities of homemade salad dressings, stocks, etc that I use in meals. I have an occasional licorice drop or two during the day and I can't resist having 3 or 4 cheese corn chips if I'm at a party/BBQ but that's also only occasional. To address these sins of ommision I have developed the…
  • Arsenic in mild doses is still used as a heart stimulant for people with heart problems. I agree with the previous premise that all things are good in moderation. (Including moderation.)
  • I tried it, I loved it and oh so simple. I have been missing my chips. :flowerforyou:
